E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

Not always possible, publishers try it pretty hard usually.

A video being uploaded to fast, people digging up stuff or just someone who might have heard anything.
There are so many methods of stuff being leaked, but it still looks pretty good.
Finally people keep their mouth shut.

I like some minor leaks that gets a discussion going, prefer it over people just going up with the wildest guessing.
It's kinda nice to see that there are barely any direct conformations and stuff that spoils everything.

I heard some stuff about Sony Japan first hand, but you influence so many people with it, it's not worth spoiling it.
People who don't wanna see leaks would see them, the person who gave the info might be at risk and people would never be satisfied either way.
If there is one thing you learned throughout the last 3-4 years with major things being leaked, both announcements and backround information, people always wanted to know more.

Well we still got some days left, and already got a pretty good idea which games might be on stage from those that haven't been even announced yet (Fallout,Horizon,GoW HD)
No reason to get spoiled any further.

NATF III: PbIbWhN Confirmed

Let's say you receive, by mistake, an entire e3 presentation video from a company, like Nintendo or Sony.

 1. Would you post it online and screw with the company / viewers surprise / e3 event?
 2. Let's say, the guy who sent you that presentation, ask you politely to do not share, would you still do?

ps: I thought about make an entire thread out of it but I can't create threads yet. It's more like an ethical question.

Depends on what company it is and what's in the video.

I have to defend Verendus here. Name one thing where he was dead wrong or wasn't even close. He has from the beginning said that for some of his stuff will it will awhile before they are revealed.

He has. Details on FF versus on what was going to happen weren't exact but even he will tell you can never be certain with some outcomes. Such is the nature of this industry.

I really liked Resistance trilogy and hope Sony revisits it, but Bend should get a fresh start with a new IP.

As I typed that I just thought about how hard Ready At Dawn crashed when given a similar opportunity to step up from portable games.

Well, to be fair, Sony Bend has been around a long time. They used to be called Eidetic and their first four Syphon Filter games were console games. 1-3 were on PS1 and The Omega Strain was on PS2. They then went on to make two Syphon Filters (and Syphon Filter Combat Ops), as well as Resistance: Retribution on PSP and Uncharted Golden Abyss on PS Vita. So, while they haven't made a console game since 2004 or 2005, they have experience, unlike Ready at Dawn, who prior to the Order, made nearly only portable games (they did do the Wii port of Okami, though, as well as worked on the PS3 ports of their God of War games).

Great post, Pennywise.

Not a link but here's a screenshot, they were from 2 days ago if you wanna see if he elaborated any more on it

Thanks. I was pretty hyped when Nolan talked about doing a game of Inception, but to know is happening excites me.

Wonder how it can play. ThoseDeafMutes had a great post explaining why Inception would make a great game, but I can't seem to find it.
Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 makes its reappearance, promptly winning best of show.

place your bets
Furious 4 is most definitely dead. Now an actual Brothers In Arms sequel? Hmmm....
I hope so.

What secret? :o

WB game better not be an inception game....smh, too many good DC characters to pick. Worst thing out of WB would be inception - unless I am totally floored by some weird stuff. Gimme Superman or Ninja Turtles....safe bet/print money/hype.
You seem to wrongly think that WB Interactive only has one studio. It owns several, and has actually licensed out games, like Mad Max.

Apparently yes its been in alpha for ages you can still sign up and some folks are playing it.
But I have no idea who its for or why its still a game.

The real question is why I haven't gotten my Samaritan game.

Viacom owns TMNT.

I'd be up for an Inception game. I never thought it'd happen when it was first mentioned years ago, because I seem to recall it was planned as a MMO at the time and we all know how that genre has turned out, but if they did something interesting with it, I think it could be really cool. Though trusting Warner, they'd probably just give it fucking Batman combat and I'd immediately lose interest. Warner are to Batman combat what Ubisoft is to map revealing towers.

Because that cost money and why risk money when you can put a F2P games and engines up for just % of that cost.

You're making me cry, Dutch.

Crap, you're not wrong, I just tried thinking of games different to Batman that have Batman combat. Shadow of Mordor has it, Mad Max has it.

I don't think it would fit well within the world of Inception that kind of gameplay.

That is sadly the industry we live in right now.

I don't want any announcements before E3. I don't want any announcements at E3 either. Let's have an E3 where no games get revealed. It would be something different and new. We have too many games as it is.

Uncharted Collection for PS4.

You can hardly call it a leak. I always thought the use of some random dude's Twitter as a source is frowned upon on GAF.

Still want it badly

I'd probably keep it for myself, tough I'd might share some of it like an hour or so before the show starts.

I bet the vast majority of new games at Sony will be VR.

On the plus side this show should be when we start seeing what the more established developers have been doing with VR so there should be some cool stuff to show from all over the industry.

Very few will be for VR. Those that are will be small in scope. Most of the games shown will have been in development well before before VR specs were set, and Sony is not going to limit their biggest games to an add-on.

A P.T. style horror game with Project Morpheus and HRTF audio support would interest a lot of people.

This is something Shuhei Yoshida has asked for himself, so I'm optimistic it could actually happen.

Hmm...

3. — "It's a staple, but I'd like to make an adventure epic in a vast imaginary world. User communication is becoming a standard feature, but I'd like to have people having fun sharing their experiences of what they felt or saw rather than just items or parameters. That, or something you can clear in a few hours, like a first person supernatural nightmare experience."

That's from Keiichiro Toyama, creator of Silent Hill, Siren and Gravity Rush.

I would actually like to see Sony showcase games that will be out in the short term more than announcing new ones coming in the next couple of years.
Conversely, I want Microsoft to keep with Phil's promise they are focusing on first party games.
Let me explain.
I have both systems. Most of my friends are on xbox live and bought the Xb1. So anything multiplayer is bought on that machine, even though the performance is better on PS4. I bought the PS4, because of their commitment to their own first party games and so far, other than Bloodbourne, they've been a let down. So far, I've has more fun with XB1's first party offerings and they would seem to have a nice lineup this holiday. I know that Sony has a lot on the plate for next year which excites me, but I really want them to show me some great titles coming out this year.
Don't get me wrong, i appreciate the smaller titles and indie games, but I want to see some great AAA titles.
For Microsoft, I want to see the opposite. I want to see whats coming down the road for the next few years to guage their commitment to the first party games. This year and next year look good, but whats really beyond that?
one other thing. Im still not sold on VR. I really hope Sony doesn't spend a whole lot of time on it as it seems like it's mostly experiences rather than actually games. I know they're just demos, but I would rather they really focus on Core games.
just my opinion.
I dont regret buying either system and I am really looking forward to E3

Does anyone think a Skyrim remaster announcement at Bethesda's presser is a safe bet? They're going to have to stuff their solo presser so it doesn't seem empty and that seems like a pretty obvious choice given A) The strong sales of Skyrim last gen, B) The popularity of remasters on the new consoles, and C) The relative low cost of remastering a fairly recent title.
Or do you think it's too early to release a remaster if the goal is to drum up hype for the next installment (assuming Fallout 4 is coming before TES6).

The good thing about Skyrim PS4/X1 is that I don't think they'd have to really "remaster" the game, per se. I think a port of the PC Legendary Edition with PC-quality graphics and framerate wouldn't be too much to ask for.

Skyrim PS4/X1 would be the perfect release until Fallout 4 comes out. If Fallout 4 gets released in 2016, I think a Skyrim re-release is definitely going to happen, but if it is released this year, I don't think there's really much of a chance.

Really hope it does exist because my PS3 version sucks. I really love the game, it's just really clunky and not impressive on the PS3.

Sure I think it might be.

But like 99% of games that involve a big move director I bet it never actually gets released.

Hey we at least got this

Boomblox_box.jpg

But jeah let's see. Could be interesting. I think Inception could work great as a game.

Hope it's not open world with Assassin's Creed movement and Batman fights.

So if real this 'Inception' game could perhaps be the WB Games exclusive for PS4 that I believe Verendus mentioned a while back.

EDIT - Also YES! at the rumour / leak of an Uncharted collection for PS4 this Holiday. I expect only the single player campaigns if they hope to try and fit it onto a single Blu-Ray, but that would be fine and save massive headaches for the studio working on the port if multiplayer modes were omitted.
$60 - all three campaigns at 1080p (maybe 60fps?) - that'll keep me busy all November / December and fully amped for UC4!

The way things are, I expect almost all studios/publishers – except Sony and MS first parties/exclusive deals that we don’t know - to release their trailers/game announcements the weeks/days before E3, so they can steal some press time for their productions…

On being a clairvoyant, I cannot think in a year that some of the best fps shooters in the industry (fingers crossed) are going to be released (Halo 5, Doom 4, CoD BO 3, Star Wars Battlefront), that Sony will not release a first party AAA shooter of their own making.

I guess a version of Killzone is a probable candidate (being a new game on the franchise or an HD remake of Killzone Mercenaries or an HD remake of Killzone 2)…

I also believe that they are going to reboot the Resistance franchise as another candidate on the shooter games…

I am pretty sure that Sony Bend is creating an FPS game at the moment, as the FPS genre (and racing) is where Sony is lacking in quality first party titles at the moment…

In all other genres Sony has great games and great IPs compared with the rest of the competition…

On hardware I expect Sony and MS to announce console bundles with larger hard drives, at the same price point, and I am sure that Sony will give for free The Order and Bloodborne on their bundles…

On handhelds, I expect the announcement of Vita 3000, with lower cost, better battery life and an hdmi out, so we can play vita game on our TVs…

Plus an official drop on PS Vita memory prices and the announcement of a 128 Gb option…

And Sony we are ready for Killzone Mercenaries 2 on vita... :p

The only thing I beg the industry not to do, is no more fake In Engine Real Time gameplay videos and I hope a lot of the games that we'll watch on E3 to release sometime in the next 6 months – no more delays please… :D

Finally possibly we will get bored with VR tech, because I believe that Sony will devote a lot of time for Morpheus in its presentation, because of the Oculus presentation that will happen before E3…

Plus, the Medal of Honor series (especially those regarding Medal of Honor, Medal of Honor: Underground, and Medal, Honor: Frontline and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault), was created by Steven Spielberg.

Do we have any insight on what WB Montreal is working on? I have a feeling that's WB's big reveal, whether it's Suicide Squad, Superman, or Ellen Page 3: the sequel to Last of Us and Beyond Two Souls (yes, I know Ellie isn't Ellen Page. She just looks like her).

Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 makes its reappearance, promptly winning best of show.

place your bets

Man I hope so. The writing is Gearbox's best, Corrion's voice actor had better still be in charge of the story.

Troy Baker's come a long way, I can't wait to see the squad again and hopefully there will be improved command tactics. And no multiplayer unless it's actually good.

I think the rumor was that they are working on Suicide Squad.

You're just making a big assumption (not sure from what) about what I think or know. What I think is clear, I want a Superman or Ninja Turtles game.....the latter, with free-flow.

Viacom owns TMNT.

In the wrong hands. Not sure how we got that TMNT downloadable game that reviewed poorly.

Edit: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, published by Activision.

Seems you can get the license if you bid, maybe?

WB need to make a new Blade Runner game and have Creative Assembly do it. There's a new Blade Runner film coming so it makes sense.

It's hard for me to get excited for a suicide squad game when I have no idea what they are about. Giving myself an education on it as we speak.
