Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4 is much, much better now. Bless.

So this is sort of interesting. I'm seeing Ver 2014 over P1's character icon in online games. PSN names are also missing.

Yep, Other Ocean fucked up this version. It's just not ready. Hope sony pushes for big patches, this games needs it.

Just saw Spooky complaining about it on Twitter, and frankly it's a shame cause this would have been an instant buy. Will wait to see what comes of this.

This is a crying shame. I grabbed $30 worth of PSN cards in anticipation of this game, but it looks like I'll be keeping that money in my wallet a little longer.

People aren't sure whether to blame Sony, Capcom, or Other Ocean for a botched port job. The way I see it, they all have some amount of responsibility. They need to step up and work on getting a patch out as soon as possible. It would be embarrassing for the game to show up at tournaments in this shoddy condition.

Stick to either the PC or the Xbox 360 version of this game, guys.

If Sony & Capcom are going to use the PS4 version for the upcoming tournaments, then they need to fix all of these problems stat, or a lot of tournament players will be yearning for the Xbox 360 version instead.

Honestly it's not. Frame data is super important in this genre, you have to base your game around it. The Decapre vine is just ridiculous.

Some glitches are not "unplayable". Yeah, it needs to be fixed for the competitive scene along with the weird sound bugs and off contrast but it's not an unplayable abomination.

Nintendo QA the living fuck out of their games, no matter if they're full AAA releases or ports of old games. And they don't farm them out to no-name studios to to quick/cheap ports

So you get games like Majora's Mask on the 3Ds being in development longer than it took to make the original N64 game. Compare and contrast Nintendo ports to MCC or this.

The Monster Games ports of Xenoblade and Donkey Kong Country Returns seemed pretty quick and cheap. There weren't any huge issues with them but I would not call those high quality ports.

If it's worse than the 360 version it is essentially unplayable in the competitive scene. Nobody will touch it unless there's money involved.

Bad ports are infuriating. I could understand performance problems.. But the names of players displaying on both sides and the 'press start' is pretty bad.

Good lord, how could this have happened?

This is Master Chief Collection levels of borked.

At least MCC was 4 games brought across 3 generations of systems with multiple studios around the world. That title had its problems, but it had alot going on with it. Porting a Street Fighter title from one generation to a beast strength machine should of been simple.

After playing about 15-20 ranked matches, I'm absolutely certain that the netcode is worse than in previous versions. Every single match I played after the first few not only had noticeable input delay, but also slowdown which was not in any of the previous versions (360, PS3, and PC).

Combined with the reports of stuttering like pre-patch 3rd Strike, as well as the obvious menu lag, we're definitely going to have to wait for a patch.

From a competitive standpoint, random deviations like that make the version worthless.

can't believe they hired ex-backbone/digital eclipse developers to do a port for a version that was supposed to be used at evo.

Ports should be done IN HOUSE. Just hire a small team and have the games creator come in and check on it/play test it and give feedback as its being made.

I agree. They should've hired someone like Bluepoint, Iron Galaxy, HexaDrive, or M2 to do the port, if not Capcom themselves.

Such a shame, at least it all sounds like stuff that can be fixed with patches.

Unfortunately devs will still go the cheap route because we allow them.

People are whining about the net code? Had a few games where it was a little laggy. Overall, most games are lag free.

You have no idea how serious the competitive pro scene is when it comes to this kind of stuff. If that stuff means the difference between a win and a loss with $500k on the line, it's damn important.

Ridiculous the problems exist in the first place tbh.

Had some really bad matches, but playing with a friend who I have been playing SFIV since 09 with was smooth. Seems to be hit or miss. A lot of lobbies are coming up as gray, so something is wrong. Right now I'm getting a lot of "waiting for players..." messages.

Good god that is some serious hitching going on.

Yeah, let's see if I'm even able to play. :|

You're out of your mind. It's a miracle they got those games working on that hardware at all. And both ports are incredibly solid.
