The Flash |OT| Gotta Go Fast - Tuesdays 8/7c

this is literally the worst conversation in this entire thread, lets never post about it again.

the flash sure does run fast.

If he eats so much, does he poop a lot?

Guessing neither of you are working within science fields. Besides, I'm sure even the janitor at CERN has heard of singularities.

Don't quite understand how so many are surprised about the dialog, it's not like the show's been that good with handling the female characters (wasn't it a few weeks ago in this very thread when the discussion was about how poorly they characterized Iris?).

This has nothing to do with male or female characters. They just needed a character to explain it to the audience. A bio-engineer/neuroscientist is just a better candidate than the mechanical and structural engineers as their science education would have been more focused to physics over biology. Barry would also be terribly unsuited because he has two science majors. Should have used Joe.

I caught up last night, and only need to watch the finale of both The Flash and Arrow now. Oh man, have both shows really picked it up toward the end, and I love how they interconnect.

I'm not too fond of how Firestorm and Arrow just appeared out of the blue against Reverse-Flash (I know Flash contacted them), but again, it's just guest appearances so it's fine.

Grodd was something else..

Isn't it rare to see black hole described in this term.

Most educated people when they hear singularity they don't think of black holes. They think about the point in the future, where the technology will get so advanced that it will allow us to completely transcend our biological limitations.
I think you only know that definition if you're into hard sci-fi or some advanced physics/tech topics. I'd say most people think black hole.

News on the DVD/Blu-Ray front:

Has Warner Home Video formally announced it yet? Nope. In fact, some would say it's the reverse...

But thanks to an update today from Amazon.com's pre-order listings (thank Grodd!), on both DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc formats, we've learned that The Flash - The Complete 1st Season will be available to own starting September 22nd.

(But to me, those discs have been available for centuries...)

We don't have finalized package art yet for this freshman season with the Scarlet Speedster (Amazon's only showing some temp art from the show's broadcast promotional campaign). Nor do we have the full details or extras (if any), at least as of this writing. And no, we don't even have word so far about whether or not Warner Home Video is planning to include the various cross-over episodes with Arrow (but we certainly hope that they do!).

Do you think we'll get a musical episode next season? They could explain it with a metahuman who forces people to break into song by looking at them.

Just started watching. Its pretty good so far (especially the Dr. Wells and Reverse Flash stuff) but I can't help but laugh at some of the fights.

Right now Flash is fighting Cold and Heatwave (?) and he's trying to cross theirs beams to cancel them out.

Dude, you can snatch missiles out of the air. Just... take the guns.

Geoff Johns will manage to get him killed off within an episode.

Doesn't want to risk Barry being less popular
I know people joke about this but Johns doesn't hate Wally or likes him less than Barry. His most famous Flash run was with Wally as the Flash. Barry being brought back was editorially mandated.

why in the world would they include the arrow cross over episodes?
it wouldn't make any logical sense, instead they would just want you to buy the arrow season to get them o.O;

I assume they mean the "Flash vs. Arrow" episode, in which case, why wouldn't they include that? I bet the Arrow set includes "The Brave and the Bold" ep.

Yeah. I love the show to pieces, but that was undoubtedly the single most idiotic thing in the show so far.

I imagine the flash season set will be the episodes that aired during the flash time slot and nothing more.

maybe if we are lucky we get a bonus of the original pilot episode that they scrapped before it was aired as an arrow episode.

If they mean that, it is weird to include it as a comment. They won't cut those episodes from their respective shows, I think they are more referring to getting The Brave and the Bold on The Flash DVDs which would be nonsense. They want people to buy both Arrow S3 and The Flash.

This aint Buffy

Music Meister, baby

And Supernatural waited till Ep 200.

Supernatural did a musical? That must have been this season, because I don't remember that.

Please, no. I wouldn't mind a scene, or dream.. But I hate musicals, personally.

But musical episodes are frequently among the best episodes in their series. All the ones mentioned in this thread - Buffy, Scrubs, Psych, Batman: The Brave and the Bold - are absolute classics.

I'd love a musical episode that reveals Joe taught Barry how to sing, and ends with them doing a touching karaoke duet song of You Give Love a Bad Name

And then Eddie shoots Joe through the heart and steals Iris away.

No Betas Allowed
