Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay Video – Time To Go To War

There were PS4 button prompts during last year's Sony E3 demo, which turned out to be a misdirection. Really, unless the game in question is console-exclusive or the version of said game is categorically stated, chances are it's the PC version.
I'm going to guess that, in this case, we're really looking at PS4 footage.

For one thing, the frame-rate is not completely steady. Also, while it's tough to tell from the video, it does not look like native 1080p to me. There are enough issues with the footage that I actually do believe we're looking at the near finished PS4 version.

Yeah, it's one thing to implement Dualshock buttons on the UI but it's a whole different thing to outright lie with massive text at the start of a video.

I don't like the softness of the image, probably down to the CA. Hopefully you can turn that off on the PC version.

Looks good for console footage, bodes extremely well for the PC version.
We know it will pack several exclusive high-end effects, can't wait to see them in action.

Great trailer of course, from a gameplay perspective AK seems to add just what's needed.

Indeed, happy days for all platforms if this is the minimum standard.

Unless that has changed the PS4 has already been confirmed to run at 1080p.

The Batmobile stuff looks terrible. I really hope its more optional and not that much of it in the game, everything else looks great. It looked like Batman slammed into a civilian vehicle at the end too, likely killing everyone in it. Blarggg no thanks.

It looks like the video cuts after Ivy walks out of the room she was being held in. Seems like the jump to her on the rooftop is later on in the game.

Yeah, I remember during some demonstrations of Arkham City they would cut a few scenes or cut the audio for spoilers.

Really enjoyed my time with the game. Batmobile felt fucking awesome

Were you able check out any of the old or new gadgets? I noticed that now you can use the smoke pellet in combat now.

The tagline is Be The Batman. Batman didn't kill that family...the player did. lol.

AFAIK there are no pedestrians. The GCPD evacuated everyone so I presume that's some thugs who nicked a car. I could be incorrect though.

You can side-swipe vehicles with the X button so it has to be enemies.

Looks fantastic. The same base that made the other games so good with a pretty awesome new coating. I like the look of the vehicle stuff more than most it seems.

Whoever was in that car is dead.

Even if its thugs in a stolen vehicle, Batman just killed everyone in that car. There is no way anyone in it survived. I don't want to be a Batman that goes around committing vehicular manslaughter for fun.

Batman's voice actor is terrible. Its hard for me to get past that. I know the guy is famous for this or something, but he doesn't sound good at all to me.

And, yet again, and apologies if I seem abrasive, you'd know that I wasn't referring to the titular trailer if you'd read through the thread a little further. I addressed the misunderstanding just a handful of posts before yours, even.

He was never this bad before. :(

I'm not sure i want to believe this is on PS4. The trickery words "captured on a PS4" gives me doubt. Why not just say real time PS4 game play?

Not a huge fan of the vehicular combat. Seems pretty mundane. Everything looks hyper polished but the batmobile seems to be the only new element which is a shame. Arkham Asylum will always have a special place in my heart.

Don't be going around slamming cars then. Would you prefer the Batmobile phase through it instead?

"Captured directly from a PS4" I'm not sure they could be more clear.

I guess before showing any new gameplay video they could show a picture of them playing on a PS4 while holding up a newpaper reasonably close to the current date.....

Video: "the following gameplay was captured directly from a Playstation 4."

Some posters on Gaf: "This must be PC footage."

Yeah the Kevin Conroy interrogation seems like bad direction.

I mean, HE is Batman for me and everything else other than that line seems fine...

Batman voice acting sounded so lackluster

People seem to be ignoring this because in their minds K Conroy can do no wrong. I have said time and time again Roger Craig Smith from Origins is THE better Batman.

I will continue to stand by this and when we all get to finally play the game, the phoned in performance will be far more noticeable.

I agree with Eurogamer, this is way too bombastic and loud for Batman. This is what Frank Miller was known for, I wish they could make a more intimate and subtle Detective Batman game that was more murder mystery than Call of Duty. Not feeling it. Arkham Knight features Bat-God and I think that's the problem

The whole shooting tanks with your own tank isn't something I ever expected from a game about a Ninja unless we're talking Ryu Hayabusa
Why does this feel so Cyberpunk with all the robots and exoskeleton suits moving about?

Captured and real time are two different things to me.

Naughty Dog used the exact same term for the U4 trailer.

Can you blame us after all that's being going with these things?

Lol no one has played the full game yet.

For all we know there are detective aspects like the previous games which haven't been shown and Rocksteady are being tight lipped.

FWIW, I like a bit of extra adrenaline with the Batmobile and dual play feature.

Damn this game looks good. I just want to explore the city which was my only gripe about AC, the pinnacle of the series so far. AO was also a gem covered in some dust.

I completely agree, but none of the stuff recently shown of Batman has been any sort of vertical slice. Or a small cinematic scene that was "rendered in-engine".

Yeah, it's not like companies have ever given us a reason to doubt.

Oh, wait, they have. Multiple times in the past year.

But maybe developers have different ps4s than we do.

But ND wasn't lying with that video. That entire scene which was one character in a small section of a jungle environment was actually running on a PS4. Shocking.
