i would not be surprised if MS acquires the IP, but to do so for "billions" is laughable, as is having it ready to ship in <half a year.

I mean, it's Konami. Even if this information is a bold-faced lie, would anyone be surprised if that actually was the case at this point?

I trully belive they will show everything, but, saying they will show the same amount(quality) of content at Gamescon either... Sorry, not the type of lie I fall easily.

Well, I expect most of it to be in very early production like Crackdown and Phantom Dust last year. Then show a little bit more of the same games at Gamescom.

BTW, did MS straight up lie about what Phantom Dust is/was last year?

Depends what you mean by lie.

It was a CG trailer that was not representative of the game and was created without the input of the contracted developer of the game.

I've interpreted as: "Microsoft will fire all shots at E3 and says they will have the same amount of new content on Gamescon".

Why not make that Banjo game with your talent intact? I'm not really convinced that they're making another Banjo game. At least not in the traditional platformer sense.

They made a Banjo in 2008 with that team - Nuts & Bolts which didn't sell well, I can't imagine after that they were immediately going to work on Banjo again, the only non-KS franchise they sequeled under MS was VP.
Im not sure where they were told no? They decided on the change of direction for N&B themselves iirc, they sent the whole 3D platformer thing under a bus at the beginning of the game, even if it was tongue in cheek, it doesn't sound like they wanted to do it like that at the time.

The reality since then is that avatars and KS were hugely successful, it would be a very questionable business decision to move off that when KS1/2 sold 9m on 360, it was a huge hit and then they got working on Xbox One tech and KSR. People might not like the reality of it, but thats it and in that time people left.

We know Gregg Mayles project is being announced at E3, we don't know if its their AAA or a smaller project. I admit that the crossover between YL and a possible Banjo would be strange, but perhaps after being somewhere so long, they wanted to move on and control their own destiny (IP) a bit.

Im expecting a new Banjo 3D platformer eventually, although what scope and release model they go for, I have no idea. But things have changed a lot since the 360 days, MS teams working on multiple things, and possibly using multiple engines (UE4/Unity) which suggests they have plans for doing various projects with different scopes. That Banjo interactive audience thing would make more sense if they were making a new one in some form
 
We get this every E3, Microsoft getting a major Third Party Exclusive. So we can add Silent Hills to the list of Mass Effect and Fallout. I am sure there are more.

If they spent billions after the billions for Minecraft what is left for first party games.
 
2K will release a console called the "Top Spin Console".
The only game on the Top Spin Console will be Top Spin 5.
I will be the only person who buys the Top Spin Console and Top Spin 5.
2K goes bankrupt.

I guess its likely Its that is what he was referring to, but, as far as I can remember they changed the direction of N&B to suit themselves. Perhaps after that they wanted to try again and were told no?

As much as Yooka-Laylee is a success (and I'm a backer, fwiw) I don't think it necessarily proves people want a AAA 3D platformer with the costs that come with that which is ultimately what Rare were doing at the time, AAA games, the opportunities are quite different between then (2008) and now I think

I remember the rumors during E3 2013( i think 2013) that microsoft paid off like every developer to show off the xbox version of every multiplat game. People are silly

Emmm this happens every year.
Every year Microsoft is supposed to announce they have bought whatever support they like because of their Windows/Office war chest :P
 
People, it's time for some predictions(maybe war? please not).

Which company will win E3 and why?

I think Bethesda will win, because they will show Fallout 4 and Doom, and Sony won't show TLG.

I mean, they don't need the Silent Hills IP. You could make that style of game as a new IP.

If the video was MS trying to buy the IP and that's it, then I would of believed it. No way in hell MS is paying billion for SH, and it's 80% done
