So could this be bigger than Silent Hills? Could they also be interested in..........Metal Gear?! Paying billions for only one IP is not a smart deal

Billions could probably buy Konami.

Probably.

Like, seriously, even Reedus has come out before saying how disappointed he was that he didn't get to work on it and/or work with del Toro. 80%!? IGN can be a little suspect at times but reporting on that...

Just a reminder: At last year's E3, IGN wrote a story confirming (not even rumoring) that Sony had canceled The Last Guardian. And boy did they double down on that story. No other major outlet reported on that "confirmation".

I do not even think that was the worst story they had last year, remember when they painted Neil Druckmann as the evil force behind Amy Hennig leaving Naughty Dog.

They just quoted the damn video and made a rumor artice about it.
Nothing big, they get view from it.

Can we stop talking about nonsense, people?
Let's choose which character name my Ash will be at TLG.

Making "amends" with first party games he meant, I believe the question is needed to see the context of the tweet.

Btw that MS "struck first" is bullshit, are you implying that if MS had not made a deal for ROTTR then SFV will be multiplatform., if so think again.

You are reading too much into my comment. I never implied that the SFV was related to the ROTTR deal. Only that both companies have deals on a major 3rd party IP now.

I remember some people genuinely believed someone from Sony "leaked" the cancellation to IGN as retribution for that slanderous Naughty Dog article.

MS saving Silent Hills would be glorious.
I don't think it'll happen and I don't even own an Xbox One (yet) but man would that be great. The "console war" machinery needs new fuel.

No Reedus, no Kojima, no Del Toro.

Basically, Microsoft would be paying shitloads for the right to call Alan Wake 2 Silent Hill.

If there is a 3rd party exclusive I expect something low key such as The Whore of the Orient from Team Bondi. Though I do believe a Devil May Cry 5 exclusive could also happen, perhaps that is the reason Capcom have ported the last gen games.

"Deal is in the billions" claim is just ridiculous xD

I am honestly ready to let Silent Hills go, but if it ever happens, I really hope Konami doesn't get a single penny from its profit.

Also go KHDDD HD!!
*lights 3rd candle to RGHD and RG2 but starts to understand this is getting old*

If Microsoft does buy Silent hill or Konami will we see them announce that you can play PT right now during their e3 conference. Or will it take them a while to port it over to the One.

"will we see"

no we won't. This is quite possibly the most BS "rumor" we have heard in a long ass time.

Buying Silent hill seems kind of pointless for various reasons that are not hard to see.

If they wanted a horror thing there are plenty of indie developers making cool shit these days. Go get Amnesia on xbox or something.

Edit.

"the source says Silent Hills is 80% complete"

FUCKING LOL. Ok. lets move along.

It's literally just a video that they attach with an article jesus christ do you guys even know how IGN works? Even in the video they say it sounds unbelievable.

God, these people will do anything for a click. Zero vetting. Zero confirmation. Nothing to separate this from a random asshole sending a few smartly worded emails to the right people.

Can't blame Dualshokers when IGN does the same. Well I can actually blame them and wonder why IGN is still allowed. They get plenty of clicks - not sure why the need to go into twitter rumour mill.... TMZ of gaming.

Who knows maybe the source took a picture of a piece of paper with Silent Hills on it and Microsoft Games Studios on it.

It worked on Reddit and i do not rate IGN much higher in vetting then Reddit mods.
