Fanart by Yuji Natsume. Seems Shovel Knight left an impression on Inticreates. Would be sweet if this actually got in the actual game but I'm not holding my breath
Well then... this is pretty great.

A Vita version too? Yeah, I think I'm gonna retract my pledge and just wait for the full release. I'm probably all for nothing, but I'm starting to worry about the overall scope of the game if it went from initially targeting PC/PS4/XB1, and then bringing in Wii U and Vita versions after the fact. I'll probably get shat on like crazy by supporters of the platforms, but so be it. I genuinely hope everything turns out OK, but it's better for me to be safe than sorry.

Wonder if those people who dropped their pledge cause they dared to make a WiiU version will just dropped out entirely because they dare to make a Vita version.
You actually think they're going to change the scope of the game due to ports lmao
I know it's not a perfect equivalency, but Armature's port of the Metal Gear HD collection is a technical marvel. They got four games running at the best possible performance for the machine and the whole collection is really a testament to their capabilities.
In a world where Vita ports are often garbage, Armature knows their goddamn stuff. They are going to get Bloodstained perfectly optimized for the handheld. This is something I truly believe.
I am sure the same is true for the Wii U.
If someone isn't confident in what they're getting they shouldn't be shamed for backing out.
Well, that didn't stop people for whining for pages about the Wii U version holding the other versions back. I expect the same people to have a problem with the Vita version, now, considering that the Vita is weaker. It follows logically, right? It couldn't have possibly been about system wars, I'm sure.
and the Vita bashing is gonna start again :/
I absolutely 100% agree. But if you're not comfortable about the game because it's getting ported to weaker systems by a 3rd party, you obviously weren't comfortable backing to begin with. The idea of becoming unsure of your investment because of said port is questionable, to say the least.
If someone isn't confident in what they're getting they shouldn't be shamed for backing out when new info comes to light.
It's rather heavily downgraded, but I'm still kind of impressed that Injustice on Vita runs as well as it does, or that it runs at all.

I get the feeling there will be less complaining about that.

Armature has done great work (at a technical level) for their Vita ports.
pretty sure they'll do a good job on Bloodstained for Vita
*prays to Gods* that this doesn't end up looking like MN9 graphically.
I agree. There will, realistically, be some concessions. But overall, I believe it will be the best possible Vita version of the game. Optimization sometimes means downgrading, and with checked expectations I am sure I will be thrilled with however Bloodstained appears on Vita.
Upped my pledge to two copies of the game.
That's about what people should have been expecting from the very start. It's the same developer!

But they namedropped Guilty Gear Xrd this time! Surely this will be different! It will look amazing! Stop being so negative!
Armature said:We at Armature thank you so much for funding the Wii U version of Bloodstained. Now we have one more surprise for you if Bloodstained makes it to $3.5mm, we will also be providing a Playstation Vita version of the game.
Thats right, the ultimate -vania game is going to make it back to a handheld platform. And dont worry, this wont mean a diminished experience on the Wii U in fact, with both platforms having touch screens, itll probably mean more for both. Well also be working with the development team on the PS4 version to see what we can do to make both platforms complement each other.
We are especially grateful to be able to help out on this, as most of Armatures games have been released on the PS Vitathat would be Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Injustice, and The Unfinished Swan, in case youre counting. Our team knows the PS Vita platform inside and out, and well do it justice as we bring you Bloodstained, running on UE4, to the PS Vita. Help us bring Bloodstained where -vania games belong your hands!
Hmmm, now Armature is having input on atleast the PS4 version of the game.

If they've already "compromised" their design vision by making a Wii U port, a Vita version isn't going to change how much they've "compromised".
After all if you can't develop anything the Wii U can't handle then you're pretty much already in the league of constraints of unable to develop anything the Vita can't handle.

After giving it some thought, I'll more than likely end up sticking with the game due to my love of the series. I think I would have been more comfortable with the Wii U and Vita ports had they flat out been included initially, but as long as they're their own thing and don't intrude on the original vision I'm fine with them. Here's hoping the juice is worth the squeeze.Just do what you think is best really! I'm still confident in things so I'm still on in the $150 tier for my physical PS4 copy and digtal PC, but don't let people shame you into doing something you're not comfortable with. (I'd get physical PC if it wasn't only Steam activated.)

Isn't it rather depressing that Armature has had such a bad run at getting projects of their own that even in the land of Kickstarter, where dreams are made into reality, they are relegated to being codemonkeys who are porting a game to platforms the main developer doesn't care to work on? From the Metroid Prime series to this...![]()

You guys think this could reach 4 million?
