That looks distinctly like gamebryo. Gotta say, that diminishes my hype slightly. Still excited though.

Bets on which terrible engine they'll use? :/

Wonder if they'll retool Gamebryo again.

That shot, especially the lod in the upper left corner reminds me so much of Skyrim uGridsToLoad. I bet my left nut its a modified Gamebryo.

I'm dead serious. We have no info about the game. Your idea that the game has now changed in scope is unfounded. GTA 5 wasn't really a lesser game because it was on PS3/360 either, its scope was pretty big in comparison to NV. NV came out 5 years ago.

Wish it was releasing on the ps2 :(

I think it looks great, shrug. Never played fallout, wasn't a fan of the genre, but witcher has shown me the error of my ways. This could be good :)

That screenshot is ... not particularly impressive.

Low-res textures, no shadows for most things, no ambient occlusion, weak foliage. I guess it's partially because I'm currently playing the Witcher 3, but I'm not impressed.

Maybe it's 60 fps on PS4One. We'll see.

hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaah

a bethesda developed game at 60 fps on consoles.

they could barely make their games work on the PS3, shit fallout 3 still remains unbelievably broken on the ps3 and skyrim took forever to get working right. I'll take a permanent ban if the game is locked at 60 fps, shit will probably struggle to hold a consistent 30 fps if past console releases are anything to go by.

All the bickering about graphics, cross-gen, etc.. my god.

As for the game, I recently binged on FO:NV w/ mods so I have quite high expectations for new features. And I definitely am interested in learning how to mod FO4.

I wonder at what point in time is the game set because we keep getting further and further from the wastelands we once knew in the original fallout+2. Eventually we'll get to Fallout: Oops we did it again.

Really need to see character models and faces instead of environments. Hopefully they've had a good whack at getting them closer to a modern standard.

Yeah I'm going by this train of thought in terms of playing the game or not. As well as Witcher 3 doing no loading screens, the graphical fidelity for that game is insane so hopefully Boston in Fallout 4 looks just as good.

Because even if the graphics "aren't good" (they look better than previous fallouts and that's good enough for me as they wont detract from why I love the game), the small amount of ram in previous consoles held the games back. This means they didn't have to worry about small ram amount (in open world games ram is important) limiting the game. Also I know they outright said they were done with PS3 with elder scrolls cause they couldn't do what they wanted to do next with it so I was kinda hoping the same was true for fallout.

Also, tech advances and eventually if you can't/won't advance with it you will get left behind. It's either that or tech gets held back.

guys, they just took the shot before the textures loaded in thats all.

it'll be fine. it's fine. i'm sure.

yeah... no.

i hate gamebryo.

The graphic whores here almost make it unbearable to enjoy any announcement since they go straight to nitpicking every small detail like the game releases tomorrow.

I'm guessing that MS has some sort of marketing deal and/or timed DLC on this one, as the XB1 version is sitting in the front of the set. Am I reading too much into the placement of the various boxes?

Or it's because the Xbox One-logo is in the middle of the box and as such would be a bit obscured if placed behind another box. Or it's because some box has to be in the front, why not Xbox One?

No sickly green filter on it's own makes me more interested in this than I was in Fallout 3. That outdoors shot is much closer to how I wanted Fallout 1's aesthetic to translate into 3d than anything I've seen from F3. Still, I don't really trust Bethesda as a developer, which is a much bigger problem than "bad" graphics.

Yeeeaah. Not overly impressed. Dogmeat looks photoshopped into the image :P

I get the feeling that has to be the game on low settings, or something. It basically looks like the PC version of a late last gen game. Not what I'd call a generational leap by any means, at least.

That said, it's refreshing to see early marketing materials not setting unrealistic expectations. Bravo for that.

All this graphic talk is hilarious to me. I still think Skyrim is beautiful on the 360. It's all about the art direction and gameplay. Honestly, graphics are the last thing I care about.

I know it's a bit off to judge the graphics already, but that image doesn't fill me with confidence about the game engine. Maybe I've been spoiled with Witcher 3 but I would have thought they'd have released a better quality image. I dunno if I'm being overly picky tho :/

Would be the norm for Bethesda as of late, so wouldn't be all that surprising, and we haven't really seen much from MS as far as 3rd party marketing deals other than The Division. Wouldn't surprise me if they go the timed DLC route again.
