Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

Is that T-45d, T-51b, or another model of power armor? Can't tell on mobile.

I also see a pip-boy on the table, a workbench (looks the same as NV), a Vault Boy bobble, Laser Rifle, some pistols, and a new rifle.

Well, Bethesda has just created a page for Fallout 4 on the press site I use, so I'm just waiting for the assets to be uploaded.

The people defending the graphics/hating on people who want games to look good are just as bad as those who say the game will look bad based off one screenshot.

I really want to buy(build?) a PC for this. Been a console gamer for 40 years but I might finally cave. If I just had the money it could be time.

Popped into this thread to join in the excitement, it's almost all drowned out by people complaining about the graphics from that screenshot.

I think this may not be the thread for me. I'll go be really excited somewhere else.

Same here, im out.

What the heck is wrong with some people? It's a single screenshot. It looks fine. The game isn't out yet. When The Witcher gave unreasonable expectations, people rioted. When this presents seemingly reasonable ones, people riot. What do developers have to do?

This looks fine. Based on one screenshot, I am excited. It's Fallout.

Quite, between now and release Fallout 4's devs are going to be wading through unending rivers of bullshit.

Let me tell you about the last time Bethesda released an uniformally good looking game.

Wait, that never happened.

I thought Oblivion and Fallout 3 looked great upon release.

Even if this were true I don't get the argument. So if this game doesn't look good, no one should talk about how it doesn't look good? Because that's how Bethesda games always were?

Fallout 3 didn't look amazing even when released either, why everybody are expecting amazing graphics?
It's Bethesda as well, their games in recent years aren't known for being visually amazing, so I'm not surprised, expect the same for DOOM.
If the world and gameplay are taking advantage of the current gen hardware that's all we need so calm down.

The question is: Do I give Fallout 3 another chance or should I play through New Vegas again to get in the mood for Fallout 4?

No debate there, it absolutely is, but I mean... modern games shouldn't still be beholden to the limitations of Morrowind's engine. I'm not like a snob technophile or anything but they really are holding on a little too tight to this engine that wasn't that great in the first place.

Well they've taken long enough to develop and entirely new engine for this one so I'm optimistic. Either way, if it plays like New Vegas it's going to be a very good game that's a bit held back by an archaic engine... which is alright by me.

Hopefully it's idTech tho.

Man, I really do wish that the only issue with Gamebryo was "bad graphics."

This. I could live with the above shown graphics no problem.

But Gamebryo + Bethesda is basically synonymous with a clunky-ass game.
Let's hope they pour just as much love into gameplay, animation and controls as they do with story and atmosphere this time. Don't disappoint me Tim Howard.

Just realised that in the screenshot, the guy's left (our right) leg is fake, it's a metal frame that you can see through, rather than solid armour like his right leg.
fake what?

It's obviously an empty power armour being repaired/modified, hull armour of the left leg is sitting besides.

I love the look of that screen can't wait for this. Totally was not expecting this year but after seeing the box art I'm hopeful now.

You might be able to BUILD YOUR OWN POWER ARMOR! HOW FUCKING COOL IS THAT?

Now is not the time to get excited about gameplay mechanics, and how excited many of us are about a new Fallout game.

Now is the time to bitch about screenshots, and (after the trailer) frames per second.

As a side note:
YES THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

So what are the odds that this comes out this year?

I'm putting my bets on a November release.
Dear god, I hope so. My year would be so much better if it did. I can't see it being a all 2016 release, that's just too long, so either fall 2015 or spring 2016.

10 minutes!!! I'm ready, got my Vault 101 hoodie on, my own little Dogmeat next to me, I may even grab a glass of ice cold Nuka-Cola.

Indeed.

It is one teaser screenshot people, geezus!

Im hoping they sunk some time and money into the Animation department

I don't care about the graphics. I'm still more than happy to go back and replay FO3 or NV once or twice a year in 2015 despite doing the majority of my gaming on a PS4.

Very very happy that it's finally been announced. Now I hope to hell that it comes out within a year.

Guess the website can't handle all the hype traffic.

Game looks fine to me, my biggest beef with FO3 was that everything was GRAY GRAY GRAY. GRAY EVERYWHERE!

"Hey, did you finish the background image for the teaser site?"

"I sure did! Packed it full of props and little narrative details, the internet will love picking over it."

"Good job, you're always thinking about the fans."

"They're what get me out of bed in the morning. :D"

bwahaha

also :(

It saddens me that people are focusing on those low LOD hills and some shadow-less pebbles instead of looking at how incredibly dense and detailed that garage is, which will do wonders for world-building, immersion, and atmosphere. Or how the lighting looks to be better than anything seen in a Bethesda game yet. Or how there's fucking power armor hanging up there in that garage that suggests we may be able to make/customize our own.

Sigh.

I see a combination of a laser and rifle in the left corner. Intresting; rifle wth scope shooting laser :) If the presentation already started showing brotherhood with someone inside the armor, the right leg seems to be amputated, that means the android isn't involved that much anymore or maybe the android can use brotherhood armors ?
