Oh, i can see improvements too. It's not that, i just think that it was realistic to expect MORE improvements 4 years after Skyrim.

The 1080p high quality video from gamersyde reveals the ugly truth if you go through the frames, IF thats your thing. If you don't care about graphics at all, good for you.

But if i am going to spend a large amount of hours in that world i want to immerse myself to the fullest, graphics like that (and especially their very bad animations) just don't cut it for me.

Phew, I thought it was just myself who thought the graphics looked alright. I'm not saying this isn't going to be a great game. I'm still super stoked!
 
As someone who hates elder scrolls and never played a fallout game but loves RPGs, should I get this? Should I try 3 or New Vegas?

It's laughable to say it looks like last gen GTAV, this looks way better.
That's coming from someone that played GTAV recently.

Please be this year!

Looks fantastic. I'll take a huge and varied world versus making smaller prettier more detailed places. Its an RPG - ever since morrowind I have played each dev's game more than 100 hours each. This game looks amazing compared to their prior games, but its the gameplay and story elements I am most looking forward to. (Looks like they will have pre war gameplay)
 
The game will be great, but yeeeeesh those graphics... last gen lighting isn't helping at all. Looking like that, I hope it's at least 2015.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's really far off the mark, CJ.

I don't disagree that FO4's trailer is disappointing from a simulation perspective, but I'm pretty sure none of Bethesda's games have ever broken a billion £ or $. Rockstar are in their own stratospheric level of budget.

Heh, maybe it did start out as a crossgen game. :P And maybe people will come to appreciate TW3's graphics more.

Not sure if it's using Gamebyro, something about the game's look reminded me of id tech 5. Maybe I'm just confusing the colorful look of the game.

It was a nice trailer anyway.
 
I don't care how the game looks, but I do want the game to be fun to play. I've tried Fallout 3 and New Vegas and I dislike both. Had to quit after some time. I see the potential for myself to like the series, but unless the battle, loot and menu systems change considerably, this is as good as non-existent to me, which is a shame, as I really want to get into the game's universe. :/
 
I don't like them voicing my character (it kills immersion for me, that's not my voice! And yes, i like to play as how I would be like in Fallout). I hope they at least have a female voice and maybe a selection of voices to choose from (and then do I have to hear the opening narrative in a male voice when I plan on playing a female character?). I'm not even going to entertain the thought they decided not to allow you to make your own character (that just wouldn't be right. One of the biggest things I like about Bethesda games is the ability to play your own character and choose it).

Also, no Ron Perlman, boooooo!

Alright, that out of the way, it looks like Fallout (Yay! I honestly like the art style) and fucking A, Fallout, sweet!!!!! Now give me an announcement date and shuttup and take my bottlecaps. And i don't care if it's not graphically impressive. Graphics impressing me only matters when I first start playing. Once I get into a game I stop really caring, long as they are good enough. And hell, Fallout 3 graphics are good enough. THese are better though obviously still same style, more smoothed out (I won't say I'm super impressed by them. But they're definitely good enough. I only need super good graphics if the game isn't that good *cough* killzone shadowfall *cough*. Give me graphics like Fallout 4 and a good game over something impressive like Shadowfall that was a medicore game (and I'm thinking some people might call me nice in calling it mediocre. I enjoyed it, just wasn't that great a game).
 
I always wonder what metric people are saying that, graphically, games look bad. Technically, many look on par with each other, and Fallout 4 right alongside them. I fail to see why Bethesda is at fault for other peoples' fantasies.
 
I honestly hope more games take the low graphic approach. It'll be healthier for the industry in the long term. I'd rather they spend the resources making a more detailed world.
 
I'm going to take a day or two off work for this. It will be sublime.

God I hate graphics whores. You people really do your level best to sap all that is good and fun from gaming, don't you? What does one gain from that?

Looks like the game was for last gen and then moved to the current one. I don´t like the art style at all, and i expect dull gameplay mechanics...as usual by Bethesda...
 
Trailer didn't really do much for me, tbh, coming off of Witcher 3, based on the admittedly brief snippit shown, the world looks to have that Bethesda feel to it, which for me has been toppled by the aforementioned game. Also hoping the protagonist isn't voiced.
