My hope:
MS announces a PC/XB1 non-NFL football game. Maybe the one Joe Montana has been teasing.

Pretty much this. But hey if those were included it wouldn't fit the narrative

I'm expecting that, KI, and Forza 5 at the least, and can only assume they will add Ori and Kalimba to windows 10 store over from STEAMMaybe a Sunset Overdrive port?
I see all these people going "MICROSOFT SO DUMB WHY HAVEN'T THEY PUT HALO ON PC," but they're outright ignoring that Age of Mythology, Age of Empires, and Rise of Nations aren't just on Steam, they're fully integrated with Steamworks functionality, their multiplayer works, and so on and so forth. And, again, Age of Empires II is even getting expansions.
Like, really, is Halo the only thing that's supposed to make us happy at this stage?

Enjoy your Fable Legends game play trailer.
*Phil comes on stage*
"PC games are very important to us, but we actually have nothing new to announce. Well here some trailer for that Fable game no one cares about."
*Phil leaves*
100% what I expect.
Oh god... how dare Microsoft allow a studio to do something new instead of making the same game the fourth time in a row!
Oh wait, weren't we complaining about how Microsoft only allows their first party developers to only develop the same game over and over?
Eagerly awaiting a Gears of War announcement. There's a chance right?

No NFL, no buy for me.
You know me. I don't give a shit about Halo. All MS has to do to start convincing me is to bring back one of the PC franchises they killed. And with a real new entry on a full budget, not a re-release or F2P spinoff.Ensemble is one company. Lionhead's still around and making games. BigHuge games died because of 38 Studios; Epic resurrected them for about five minutes before shuttering them.
Don't get me wrong: it's not huge. But it bugs me that people fail to acknowledge that MS made this move, that it was a move people were begging for for years, and, oh, right, that last I checked, Age of Empires II HD is still the single most played RTS on Steam.

I mean... you know me. I love Halo. I write about Halo for Kotaku. I want to play Halo on the PC so much that I sat there while I was editing gifs for my latest article and found my hands drifting to WSAD even though it was freaking video footage. I love Halo.
I just also feel like Age of Empires 2 is equally a huge deal is all, y'know?
Again, don't get me wrong: I'd love to see Microsoft going "hey. Here is a big, huge PC game. It takes advantage of PC stuff. There's no cross-platform play. This is a proper Age of Empires. Also we're announcing five more exclusive, major, non-F2P PC games." I want that hard. But... I mean... Age of Empires 2 means a whole lot to me, Microsoft has done a great job, and it feels like nobody cares.
Slight de-rail, but I've seen this "No NFL, no buy" sentiment for this rumored Montana foolball game. I'm not a football fan, I don't play sports or sports games, but what would be the bad thing about a non-NFL football game?
No NFL, no buy for me.
Who said I was talking about the Op?2/3 of those came out in 2014, the post was made in 2013. I doubt the girl was a psychic.
DX12 is gigantic for PC gaming.
Sorry if I'm unimpressed by HD re-releases of great old games after they disbanded the companies who created them.
No, he's asking for receipts on your other bold claim.
Yes. Receipts. I love Phil, I really do, but so far, he's only really had the chance to produce I-Owe-You's moreso than proof of what he's capable of.Are you?
I mean seriously? You're asking for receipts that they have a new CEO and that Xbox is head by a new guy?
Are you?
I mean seriously? You're asking for receipts that they have a new CEO and that Xbox is head by a new guy?
Why would he even show up, then?
Ugh... I can't believe Microsoft would put in the effort to make my hardware perform better....
This isn't the same Microsoft, point blank.
They just had a huge restructuring, a brand new CEO and Xbox is head by a guy that is actually working to make gaming better for all of us.
Don't need Ms for that.
Use Vulkan - problem solved once and for all.
They could at least put the existing games they own--like Gears of War--on Steam, and make sure they keep working once GFWL is gone.

PC gamers in general aren't going to be impressed by developers like Lionhead. If Microsoft want to impress with games, they would have to release new entries in Flight Simulator, Age of Empires, Close Combat and Mechwarrior. Either that, or come out with new titles that can energize the market - games like Freelancer or Rise of Nations.I didn't know Lionhead Studios was disbanded... learn something new every day.

Not sure why I'm bothering at this point, but Spencer has been involved as a manager or better in the MS gaming division since 2008, he's been there for the bad decisions, too. I think it's disingenuous to act like he hasn't had a hand in the the debacle that has been MS and PC gaming for the last 5+ years.
Phil might throw you a scrap or two. Killer Instinct, Forza 5, or something like that.
No NFL, no buy for me.
Still hurt when they let Ensemble go, even they were shocked. Brought the company billions only to be let go. And it's not like they were let go for under performing or anything.
I remember reading the blog post by the creative director, was sad to read.
Only other claim I made is their major restructuring...
Link Here
They restructured most of the company and now the company works together instead of internal fighting with every department. Instead of Windows Phone and Windows being separate they are now both under the same department, along with Xbox OS and any other software development at the company. All the hardware development is also under the same department, the same guys that designed the Xbox One also designed the Microsoft Band.
This isn't the same Microsoft, point blank.

It's only last year that some chap by the name of Phil Spencer said that E3's not the place to talk about PC Games. So I'm hardly expecting much from this. At least we'll get another token gesture to stick on Angelus Errare's post.
Well, there is this other one too:

MCC coming to PC with complete fixes to it and includes mod support.Halo 5. Coming to PC next year. *drops mic*
There wasn't a PC gaming conference last year either.

Former Ensemble Studios developer Paul Bettner has blamed himself and Ensemble's studio culture for the company's demise and has refused to condemn Microsoft for the developer's closure.
Speaking at the recent Game Developers Conference (GDC), as reported by sister site Eurogamer, Bettner commented: "The reality is that every single game we shipped took twice as long as we said it was going to take, and cost twice as much to make."
"Microsoft is a public company, they answer to their shareholders, and we were simply too expensive."
Bettner went on to blame himself for the poor quality of life at the studio, where "everyone was a workaholic", and for the cost and inefficiency of running the studio.

He is constantly talking up about Nintendo and Sony any chance he has.
If there is any evidence to the contrary of my statement... I haven't seen it.

Yeah, there is another thing that is easily forgotten. Microsoft's current move feel reactionary to the fact that PC developers are amassing to discuss the platform for gaming without them. Would this have happened at all without PC gamer and AMD
