Dark Souls III leaked info and screenshots [RUMOR - Better Details Write-Up]

I'm skeptical. The screens look legit, but there's way too much info in this leak given that this is the first we've seen of the game. Even the huge Bloodborne leak didn't have this much info about the game.

I like it, some "sword arts" could make your character agile like in Bloodborne, while others could slow you down, but increase your ability to wield shields, or some could make you more efficient with magic...etc.

It's actually a phenomenal feature.

Gonna have to watch out for those katanas though :lol

Eh, a literal trailer leaked for Bloodborne it was pretty severe

Back when Dark Souls 2 was announced, I got the impression the new director really wanted a somewhat more traditional story presentation (like a mix of more traditional stuff on top of all the item/world things) based on the initial fact sheet, but about two months later they started making very different statements, insisting it'd be like the older games.

If it's not Miyazaki, I could see them being given more rope this time to actually do it given that they successfully launched a game.

After the reception of Bloodborne compared to Dark Souls 2 would that be the case?

This is like a re-run of the Bloodborne "Project Beast" leak from last year.

I wouldn't be surprise of the original leaker was the same.

I guess that's enough for some, but after having played (and loved) all the Soul's games and especially after the improvements to the core combat that Bloodborne brought to the table, I think another game in that franchise will have to make some bigger changes or people will end up burning out on it.
For people who never got to play BB and like what they had on DS2 people will be alright with it, though a split will occur for people who can't deal with BBs combat and the long range or shield bearing types.

Did anyone point out how

Both have those translucent swords? "Look at all the people who died here hahahaha you are fucked". Probably an online thing no?

Something doesn't add up, when did Miyazaki have the time to do all this?

The screenshots and the amount of detail about the game in the OP would only mean the game is in advanced stage of production, however Miyazaki only recently finished working on Bloodborne.

Just because they say hes involved doesnt really mean much. Konami said Kojima was involved in various projects where he just slapped his name on it.

Not saying thats the case here but damn well they would like to get his name on the project no matter what because it can only help sales even if his involvement isn't as strong as people are hoping for.

Fuck this shit about returning armor and bosses. If I gotta see Havel's armor or some version of Ornstrin one more time.... C'mon.

Huge Souls fan but tired is tired, guys.

I wish I didn't see those screenshots. I wanted the bosses to be fresh. Now to forget everything I just saw until this releases.

PC negotiable

Each Souls game has sold a million copies a piece on Steam alone and they're saying PC is negotiable...

WTF IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? ARE YOU SHITTING ME?

From/Bamco make it so difficult sometimes to support them when they keep fucking with their customers.

I think the Dark Souls 2 director learned a lot, the game had atrocious level design, but I think we should give him another chance, did you read his latest interview?

Wait... how are there screenshots? And didn't Dark Souls sell more on the PC vs the consoles? Pretty sure it did and if that's the case, why the hell would the platform still not a definite?

Plus it's all freaking x86! If it comes to either platform it should be a freaking easy port to the PC.

No PC, No buy!

Seems real enough to be something. Either DLC or Dark Souls 3 or another spin off (new IP name).

DLC seems unlikely, the screens differ a bit too much from Bloodborne aesthetics IMO. Showing off both at E3 is a bit crowded though... Maybe if it is something new it wasn't suppose to be shown as early as E3? Project Beast did leak quite early as well.

I would take that to mean a physical release, which they are probably negotiating with Namco.

Hopefully it doesn't happen, so Namco will not have to do regional price gouging to match retail and will instead-

bwahahahahhaahahaha

Did you read the read? I mean at all? It's constantly mentioned that the PC release isn't likely negotiable but merely the date is not decided yet.

Why does it matter when all that is optional stuff. You don't have to wear the Havel armor and it's not like for DS2 they didn't make a bajillion other new armors. Don't ignore the new stuff.

I hope you're right dude. I'm tired of getting dicked around.

The bleeding sun is metal as hell. Please give this game the funeral doom soundtrack it so desperately deserves.

A Souls game with a Funeral Doom soundtrack is the most perfect video game I could ever imagine. Thanks for putting that in my head. Now I have to live with the disappointment of never getting it.

it probably means the release date is negotiable instead of "no PC release at all".

The rumor is he's the director of DSIII

Sure this is not Bloodborne expansion?

I'm thinking the same thing. The "additional enemies" and "new armors/weapons not counting existing" tag lines make me think this is about BB and not Souls III. Along with the "rush in and circle"...that's more BB gameplay. IDK it could be legit leak but I think they are thinking about the wrong game.

Did you read the "Swords Arts" part?

It's mentioned in the post, so yes. It sounds like a cool thing, especially for pvp. The 2 they describe basically seem like an attack with hyper armor and the ability to cancel out of an animation. But they must on a cool down or something similar because otherwise they sound like something that would just break the game. Animation priority is basically the core of Souls combat.

Sword Arts seems like the biggest departure from the formular in Dark Souls 3, but unless it's a very elaborate system where you can use more than one at once/combine arts, it doesn't seem like that huge a change. More like a new tool to play with, than a new tool box.
