Dark Souls III leaked info and screenshots [RUMOR - Better Details Write-Up]

Imagine a DK with all the content (Mobs, items, NPC's, etc.) from Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1 + 2, Bloodborne -- wow. That'd be a huge game.

I'd have a hard time believing Miyazaki directed both this and Bloodborne considering how close the two are to each other.

If they say he did, then either Sony or Namco is lying about how closely he was involved.

It's extremely likely that it sold better than the 360 version if you look at NPD & UK sales (the only two regions where the 360 was popular), it's not likely that it did better than the PS3 version though.

Sold more than 1.6 million on the PC. Anybody knows how much it sold on PS3?

It's mentioned in the post, so yes. It sounds like a cool thing, especially for pvp. The 2 they describe basically seem like an attack with hyper armor and the ability to cancel out of an animation. But they must on a cool down or something similar because otherwise they sound like something that would just break the game. Animation priority is basically the core of Souls combat.

Sword Arts seems like the biggest departure from the formular in Dark Souls 3, but unless it's a very elaborate system where you can use more than one at once/combine arts, it doesn't seem like that huge a change. More like a new tool to play with, than a new tool box.

It's not like those two are the only "arts" in the game, I don't think they'll implement an all new combat system only for two "stances".

Wow I wish this stuff wouldn't leak. It's like I'm trying hard to meter my souls dosage and I keep accidentally jabbing myself.

I'm thinking the same thing. The "additional enemies" and "new armors/weapons not counting existing" tag lines make me think this is about BB and not Souls III. Along with the "rush in and circle"...that's more BB gameplay. IDK it could be legit leak but I think they are thinking about the wrong game.

But the screenshots point otherwise

Well, our only update on BloodBorne so far is it did 1 million copies.

Dark Souls 2 is over 2.5 million: http://www.siliconera.com/2015/04/1...units-dragon-ball-xenoverse-breaks-2-million/

Maybe someday BloodBorne surpasses that, but it's not like it just ran over Dark Souls 2.

I'm talking about the design cues it takes.

Bloodborne doing 1 million on one console versus Dark Souls 2 doing 2.5 million on four consoles and the PC isn't a surprising disparity. But I don't see how, knowing of Bloodborne's success, the design would be allowed to move further away from the franchise core - it's not like Dark Souls 2 hit a note (critically, or commercially when you consider the context of their release) that Bloodborne didn't.

But perhaps you are right and the director would just have more clout to pull off his vision given that DS2 wasn't a failure.

Each Souls game has sold a million copies a piece on Steam alone and they're saying PC is negotiable...

WTF IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? ARE YOU SHITTING ME?

From/Bamco make it so difficult sometimes to support them when they keep fucking with their customers.

How many of those million copies were sold for $5?

Sold more than 1.6 million on the PC. Anybody knows how much it sold on PS3?

It sold ~950k on PC (without Scholars).

The PS3 version in Japan alone was ~350k (which is about ~40% of the worldwide PC sales).

We also know that the game sold 1.2 million in its first month before the PC release on PS360. By looking at the NPD & UK sales to see how much it sold on 360 (~170k, & ~40k respectively), & since nobody cares about the 360 outside of those two regions, it's not likely that it sold that much more in EU, Asia, & rest of the world. So the PS3 version outside of Japan could be anywhere between 800k-900k. & that's without including the additional 350k shipments made in the next year on PS360.

This is not coming this year, right? It's little fatiguing for me after Bloodborne.I do hope the gameplay is like Bloodborne(fast action) while retaining the good things from Dark/Demon Souls, such as the ability with using magic.

Also, how did Miyazaki directed both at the same time? Something is not adding up right here!

Obviously not. It's more about how much of an individual impact they'll have on the way you play the game. We don't know exactly how/how often you can use them. I'm guessing they'll either be on a cool down or cost health to use.

Well why not just say PC release date TBA instead?

That's more Dark Souls 1 than 2. Most people paid full price or maybe half off for Dark Souls 2. For good reason too.
Because we don't know where this info comes from. It isn't like this how it is listed on their official website. This is from someone who leaked the game.

Link? The game has sold 2.5 million altogether and you are claiming 1.6 million from PC?

The guy he replied to was talking about DS1, not 2.

Bloodborne also just released and this game has clearly been in development for a while.

How in the fuck are From Software churning this out so quickly? My initial thought was quite obviously that the Dark Souls II team were working on the game but the Miyazaki rumour means that can't be right. Unless the DSII team were told to do some of the ground work and once Bloodborne production was finished, Miyazaki would then come to finish off the game.

That would make little to no sense though, so while I don't care about this game besides knowing Bloodborne 2 or Darkborne ain't gonna happen anytime soon, I'm just interested in the logistics side of things. For a 2016 game with Miyazaki having full involvement, the game won't have been in the oven for even 2 years and that would be assuming it's a December 2016 release.

Or they could say PC release coming after the console versions. That's all they gotta' say, no reason to be cryptic about it.

Unless they've added more content then I'm guessing this is for those who play non-PS4 games. I can see Miyazaki wanting to give his other fans something, but who knows. FROM Software could have a lot of ideas for this series and maybe they're focusing their entire studio on the Souls series. IMO You could do both diligently.

They could have okay'ed the DLC content well before the game even shipped too. That could mean Bloodborne 2 won't be out for sometime.

Things I want Dark Souls 3 to have and remove if Miyazaki isn't involved.

No re-skinned enemies or reusing them in each area. The exploding mummies made no sense being in the gutter and dragon aerie. Nor should I fight a blue version of a boss I already fight nor should it pull the stunt of fighting bosses from the previous game.

Create new lore. Don't bring back the Warrior of Sunlight and instead create something almost as good. It's existence in Dark Souls 2 made no sense.

Make the levels have good level design. Don't make the player be blocked by a couple of rubble and have to defeat 4 bosses. The Ivory DLC was probably their best in terms of level design with the exception of the optional area.

Make the items useful. 90% of the consumables you get in Dark Souls 2 are useless.

Don't make the player character slow. This was one of the stupidest changes to make the game "harder" by having the animation be slow in Dark Souls 2.

Make a Dark Souls game. Don't try to combine mechanics from Demon's Souls norBloodborne. Dark Souls 2 failed at it.

I can see Miyazaki being a co-director on this with the DS2 people, so not really a strict A Team/B-Team division.

Who said he did? This game hasn't even been officially unveiled yet. They could have just started working on it and it might not be out til 2016 or 2017
They just started and it's releasing next year along with Bloodborne dlc? No, that doesn't sound unlikely at all.
