Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

So how's the inkbrush guys

Fun as FUUUUUUCK.

I'm losing but getting so close to optimal so quickly.

A tip for team brush: patience is a virtue. Wait for ink of your own color to become available either through sprinklers of your own or others then move.

I've seen really good stealthing around with brushes in the skatepark, but I'm probably not going to use it in ranked till I have a good amount of practice. Just won a game with 2x brushes.

I want to use the Brush, but every time I do there's two others on my side. More than one and it's like a guaranteed loss in random.

#teambrush. The thing is hilarious if you're pure stealth mode. Lays down tons of ink, just gotta pick your fights carefull. Stealth is a must. Please have mercy on my gamepad's ZR button.

I can't stop laughing at this

Ah no, not you too! Now I really want it to "click" with me.

#teambrush will grow and become unstoppable, I feel it.

The best is ignoring skirmishes altogether to proceed through to bigger turf in turf wars. Also Jesus these assassinations are amazing.

Yes, people using a literally brand new weapon aren't God tier

How amazing

I admit, im being impatient. I'm sorry. Just trying to be silly and have fun with it. :p

But I see your point in the larger context about people writing off the weapon so soon.

It took some getting used to, but I really enjoy it. Definitely turns into a game of stealth though, so deception is key

I kept on getting scores that I usually only get in these KartGAF-deserter rooms with the Aerospray.
Hmmm having a lot of trouble getting kills even if you ambush people, it does very little damage.

Can you roll people with it?

Is it true that Attack and Defence buffs are both effectively useless? I've read that in a few places now, saying there are caps on both whereby the strength of only a small number of weapons (and, for Defence, your resistance to them) can only be increased by one hit.

I saw this on gamefaqs too and was really confused by it. I have multiple defense and attack buffs spread across my clothes. I've been told skills stack, but then I hear about things like that cap you mentioned, and am wondering if my stats are pointless (since i have 2-3 of the same skills).

So if I have 3 defense skills, does 1 of those really matter? Is better to re-roll when you have stacked skills?

Tooled around with the brush for a couple rounds just for kicks, while leveling some weaker gear. In an odd way it feels closer to the Dynamo Roller to me than the regular one, despite the massive difference in speed, at least in terms of how the approach feels. I found myself not really using the brush-down run as much as I would have thought, and took on a more defensive/slow-push option with decent success. I came out positive in k/d on all my rounds, although its lack of upward attack range became really evident pretty quickly against a particular charger.

blackbelly skatepark for splat zones is so fucking hype

it helps that I was in a very competent room. control would change like every 5-10 seconds.

Basically unless you're a charger, you don't want to use Attack buffs unless your opponents are using Defense buffs. Defense by itself is okay because it'll make some weapons take another hit to kill you.

I swear Judd tells you that having several of the same perk produces diminishing returns.

Well okay. At least my defense stacks are doing something.

He does, I just don't understand the exact way it works (the cap). I'm also not sure at which point it's diminshing. So is it as little as 2 of the same perk when it begins diminishing?

So it's not good to stack any skill? And it's best to try to roll and get 4 unique skills for each clothing? (I know that's unlikely as you are bound to get stacks. Is what it is). And with each clothing item, you have to eventually get stacks. So I assume it's best to try to get as little as stacked skills as possible?

They do stack, it is with diminishing returns, and main abilities provide a bigger difference than sub abilities. The question with a lot of these values, such as attack and defense up, is whether the boost in values provides a practical benefit in combat. And from the sound of it, for attack and defense at least, they largely don't aside from particular circumstances. Like, you aren't going to stack up enough attack to start one-shotting with a .52 gal or anything.

I've already encountered some pretty beastly players with the brush.

It's looks terrifying when someone is wailing it in your direction.

Thanks for explaining that. I'll shy away from heavy Defense and Attack skills then, and focus on other skills that impact things like special and ink consumption.

I knew about the diminishing returns but I guess I wasnt 100% on it. But you guys have made it clear.

Tldr; didn't listen to Judd closely enough.

The test dummies in the weapon test course only survive 1 hit more from most weapons with def up (1 or 3 stacks of it). If you use it it's mostly worth just one main ability one.
