E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

Wild stab in the dark here... At Blizzcon 2014, there was footage of the upcoming Warcraft movie shown to folks at the event only. Is there a chance, a tiny chance, that at the AMD/PC conference, Blizzard might show everyone else a little bit of what's going on with the movie?

I know it's not a gaming prediction, but hey... My gaming prediction is a shock Half Life 3 announcement. I know it's said every year, but with Vive & Steam Controller out this year, along with rollouts of Source 2 beginning with Dota2, I feel like now is the time it would work.

I was thinking...
What are the chances of SE announcing the Kingdom Hearts Ultimate HD Remix Collection (1.5, Chains, 358/2, 2.5, Birth, Re:coded and DDD) for PS4 at their conference?
I guess they would save that until TGS if it included Dream Drop Distance HD.

Pretty sure SE made it clear they were seriously considering it. I think it'll depend on when they're anticipating KHIII.

New post, since I wrote more than I thought.

Here we go:
Since everyone has their own wishlist, I'll make mine:
New Shadow Hearts

WHATTT, HOW DID I MISS THIS!? This would top FFVIIR for me, which I'm not excited for for the actual game itself, anyway. Don't play games with my heart, Verendus :(

Regarding FFXVI: if I didn't misinterpret your response when I "found out" about the Eidos-developed mainline FF a few weeks ago, maybe it could be announced this year at SE's own conference, no?
BELIEVE.

This has been a long-time prediction of mine. 1.5 + 2.5 + DDD as one ultimate collection for PS4. It might not be at E3, but I think it'll happen eventually.

LTTP but:

1- Rime
2- Hunger
3- Vane

No idea if Vane is even going to be there, but I hope Sony work something out with Friend and Foe to bring it to the PS4 day 1. But I feel like Sony is going to save the indie stuff for that Paris show.
The funny thing is I will not watch any more footage of these titles. #TeamMediaBlackout

1. Rime
2. W!LD
3. No Man's Sky
4. The Tomorrow Children
5. The Witness
6. Everybody's Gone To Rapture
7. Edith Finch

Looking forward to a lot of smaller games.

It's safe to bet jaws will drop.
I'm sure they geared up something to surpass UC2 E3 2009 one.

With these kind of expectations you'll surely get blown away... ;)

Nah, I don't think it's possible to surpass something like the UC2 Demo. UC4 will sure be bigger and prettier, but the people already know what to expect from an Uncharted. UC2 was really something special and new, that won't be these case with UC4.

But I still hope for a great demo of course.

I'm so excited to see this robot dinosaur game I can't even handle it. Man, I hope Horizon lives up to expectations. Or, what if the source of those pics was wrong and that's not even Guerrilla's game, and it's something TOTALLY different? That would also be superb.

It would be awesome if Sony did buy the Shadow Hearts IP, but somehow I don't think Sony really cares.

I'm somehow trying to convince myself that Shadow Hearts on Verendus's list is not fake since it's too niche for it to be fabricated. Unlike say something like FF7 remake etc.

Hmmm...

I can't wait to be blown away by the Uncharted 4 demo. We already know it will be a setpiece demo, so I'm gonna predict something else. It will either be 30FPS while having significantly better visuals than the PSX demo or 60FPS while looking slightly better than the PSX demo. Not sure which one I want.

I'm gonna take the more cynical approach and say it's gonna look marginally better and remain at 30fps.

The real eye candy will be R&C at 1080p since they're probably going for 30fps. Mhm mhm mhm.

Marginally? No way in Hell will it only look "marginally" better if it remains at 30FPS.

I seriously doubt R&C will look better than UC4.

Any way lock it at 30fps and make the best looking game on consoles.

Sorry to be a pedant, but only two of those are technically indie games. The rest are being published by Sony. They might be smaller, digital-only releases, but at the end of the day they're still being funded by a large corporation.

Yeah I know they are not really indie games, just a sort of label I have put on smaller scale productions.

I wouldn't call WiLD, TTC, No Mans Sky, the Witness or Rime " smaller " games.

WiLD has a landmass the size of Europe. No Mans Sky has 16 quantillion planets. The Witness has over 600 puzzles. Rime is a giant landscape as well crossing oceans and such.

TTC has up to 100 people jumping into a town together to build it up and defend it from the oncoming hordes of enemies. Yeah, none of those games are " small " by any stretch of the word. Hell most are far more ambitious then todays usual " AAA " game.

Ratcher and Clank is targetinfg 30fps? When was this announced? :(

They haven't officially announced it. But several years back they said that they were going to drop 60fps and start targeting 30fps as they saw no real benefit from a marketing or review perspective. They also noted that only 16% of those polled on their site were big supporters of 60fps. Most just wanted a smooth consistent framerate that didn't interfere with the gameplay.

Guys, guys when we're talking about indies or smaller games we're talking strictly BUDGET-WISE, not the quality or ambition of the game.

Nobody said those games are smaller scope or that they suck. But is objectively A FACT that they have a small budget OR the man power of the team behind it is a few people...

The new Ratchet is 30fps????!!!! What the fuck? Where did you see confirmation of that? That's the worst news, Ratchet - as with any platformer - should be 60fps. The series was ruined when they moved to 30fps on PS3.

Uncharted on the other hand has slower gameplay and is fine at 30fps.

Grrrrr!!! That's seriously ruined my day :(

There's no confirmation on that. But with the latest entry being 30fps, SO being 30fps, their blog post about their intentions going forward etc, i'd say it's quite obvious the next Ratchet is aiming for 30fps. Edited my post so there's no confusion.

I'm very happy to be wrong about this, but EDGE stated that the demo ran at 37 fps, and with some overhead for a locked experience - I really don't see them taking it *that* much further. I'd just rather keep my expectations low and be pleasantly surprised if they did indeed make it a lot prettier.

6 months is a lot of time for optimization. Devs can improve a lot within 6 months, especially Naughty Dog, a studio known to push the visual bar. And to be fair, the EDGE info is quite vague. It never specified if that was the average frame rate IIRC.

Id buy to finish them a combination of 3rd, 4th and 5th times!
Then again before KH3 drops ;D

What the hell!

If nothing is shown, I will literally create a twitter account and tell PSUK to fuck off!

They have been doing it all week about lots of different games, not just GT

Edit

here are the same links I shared earlier

Really, really hoping for PS1/PS2 emulation being announced for the PS4. Not having it is really holding the PS4 back, in my opinion. Has there been any rumors about that?

I only remember that Eurogamer rumour about maybe year ago, nothing since I think. I also really want emulation, pretty silly/stupid that there isn't any right now.

It just hit me. We will see an on-stage demo of Uncharted 4.

Wow. O_O

E3 Hype begins.

We have already seen an on-stage demo of UC4 at PSX. Sure they could show a set piece demo at E3, but given how far away the game is still, Sony can better use the time at E3. More useful would be to show UC:NDC gameplay, as that is only a few months away from release.

It drives me up the wall. The PS4 is the first Sony console that can't play PS1 games. Not to be dramatic, but it makes my PS4 feel weak. The Classics library is like 900 games my PS4 can't play. It's embarrassing and upsetting.

Sony on one hand acknowledges all the PS4 owners who didn't have PS3s, and on the other doesn't think that one of the defining features of the PlayStation 3 is a priority.
