Oh man that is awful. DC count as a loss in ranked. I can't imagine winning and getting a DC in ranked after the match just ended (I know you were in turf, it still sucks).

I also just think, the brush is such a unique weapon that most players won't be able to use it. It's niche in that, the playstyle is much different then everything else in the game. While each weapon is diverse and different, I do feel most of the weapons all kind of fit within a connecting sphere. The paint brush is its own thing.
It's like Porco Rossos plane. Only a few can use the Brush and it's unwieldy controls. But those that can use it...

There actually is one way to tell. If you look at the spawn pad and there is an X mark on it, it means someone DC'd.
His channel is kind of the face of "hype" for Nintendo related stuff. He's always hyped lol.
Can't watch with sound now but is the footage of his own? If so then I'm not sure I would take advice from him.

Ah. I'll still check it out. My post sort of sounds negative. I just meant, is he someone huge in the MP scene. I don't really follow youtube/twitch. Either way, I'll check the video out. Plus, Splatoon just came out, so it's not like anyone is going to be top dog at this point (except for Azure, who clearly is the best).

Someone already said this. But tap the jump button! The Kraken will do a spin Attack. So you swim aggressively until you find an opponent, then jump at them and you will spin and insta-kill them.
If you are trying to escape a Kraken (if the enemy has this special), aggressively swim in the ink, and you can outpace Kraken.

Nice! I'm on B right now and have been stuck on it for days. I got within 1 win of advancing to B+ a few days ago but lost 4 times in a row :/
I feel like ranked matches just boil down to me figuring out cheese ball tactics the other team is going too use and trying to stop it.
