Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I was thinking about what other Paint-like weapons they could make. They have Paint Brush's, Rollers, Paint Guns, Paint BALL guns. What about Stamps? Have a Pogo Stick with a Stamp on the bottom. They already have Stamp enemies in the Single Player.
Thrusting melee weapon, like an ink-spear?

I'm really enjoying this game so far, just got it yesterday and already Level 11 . One annoyance is the 2 map rotation for each mode, couldn't Nintendo just allow all the maps to be played for whatever mode you want?

They should rotate them more but some weapons are significantly more or less useful on certain maps, which is why they only have two at a time.

Personally I think two for two hours would be better though.

What's your strategy if you don't mind sharing?

I played five or six games with it, with my wife watching, both of us taking mental notes of what was effective, and what wasn't.

After those matches, both my wife and I thought it was basically an inferior roller; covers less area in "hold down the button" mode, and melee does a lot less damage. I noticed in every game I played, even after switching weapons, that most people had "given up" on it already. And when someone was using it, they were bottom of the team.

So curious to hear from someone who is good with it!
Last night I was in a GAF room and generally got Top 2 on my team with a brush, many 1sts too.

All I did was spread as much ink as I can so I don't really know what to say... It has pretty legit ink coverage. You guys knew that you're supposed to rapidly press ZR to actually cover things, right? ZR is only for moving with unparalleled mobility and laying ink trails for your team. It's not for actual coverage.

As a Dual Squelcher user, it's pretty great. Long range, very accurate but uses ink kinda quick, okayish coverage and isn't as hard hitting as some of the bigger guns. Still though, you can keep most guns and even some chargers at bay with it's accuracy. Echolocator as the Super is great since you can flank them from far away when they're hiding in ink and think you can't see them.

Yeah, the Dual Squelcher is my current go-to weapon in Ranked for the reasons you listed. Once my team controls an area I can hang back and defend using the superior range to keep enemies away from the zone. Just as long as I don't get in a tight area I can usually backpedal while an enemy approaches to splat them from a distance.

Winning ranked Splat Zones in overtime is inkredible when you come from way behind. We had to hold the zones for more than 30 seconds to catch up, too. Fresh.

It's another one of those things that sounds dumb, but being randomly assigned teams in a friends lobby is pretty awesome. Saves all the hassle of planning and you just jump in and play.

Is there any reason why the amount of points I earn with a win for my Rank decreases each match?

They should rotate them more but some weapons are significantly more or less useful on certain maps, which is why they only have two at a time.

Yeah that would be an ideal solution.

I know all this. I did mention that I'm going to reroll most if not all of that gear in the post. :P
Let me be clearer:

Switch your Ninja Squid shirt to a better brand before rerolling. Otherwise you'll just get a bunch of damage ups, which you do not want. Similarly, switch hats if you don't want a bunch of Quick Respawn.

EDIT: I guess I can't talk smack about Quick Respawn when I used a full set of it last night...

So this guy on Reddit who allegedly properly tested abilities said this:
Also, for those wondering about Quick Respawn. It reduces the animation time, not the respawn timer itself (same goes for Quick Super Jump). However, the chances are that the reduction is insignifcant in practise as well.
Just so we are all on the same page, this is wrong. It reduces the respawn timer, not the animation, and it's pretty obvious if you stack it heavily. I cannot comprehend how he did not realize that it reduces the respawn timer.

Wait what? The RNG favors certain perks based on brand? >:\

The only other ninja squid gear I have is the Zekko Hoodie.

Started playing Turf with some friends. Holy hell, NZAP's spread is not good for this mode. Back to Aero it is!

I can get 500-800 most times with it, good enough for me!

Gah, I feel bad. Are you still on a losing streak!? :(

I feel your pain, losing 10 in a row in Ranked (for instance) is no fun. It's soul crushing.

This so much. Went crazy on Wednesday when I lost like 15 matches out of 20. But next time, i'll bring gear I like in it.

On that note: Does anyone know if Run Speed Up aids when you are firing a gun?

EDIT: 900+ game...10 seconds remaining...Comm Error. >_>

Stupid question, but I can't find a geenral Wii U thread and it's somewhat Splatoon related.

How do I turn the Wii U off to standby mode? The only way I can turn off my Wii U is forcing it off by holding the power button. If I just press the power button and don't hold it, nothing happens. No 'power off or standby' type screen shows up or anything.

Dammit!

Was hoping you'd skip past it! ;)

Haha, it was an Inkredible coincidence. I think that was my last post before going to sleep and then as soon as I wake up I see that before having to leave, heh.

On another note:
I just went Scuba Diving - and I thought I saw a squid in the corner of my eye. Out of a sudden I realize I'm humming the Splatoon theme.

It's too catchy guys.

I am being consumed.

but hey i'm back home that means time to play some more

I don't think so, but triple running speed up makes you run about as fast as your squid form.
