Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Man, I remember using the Brush agianst another Brush user in Ranked. We were both just out of reach of our flick attack, and I swear, for 5 seconds it looked exactly like this:

Brush-GAF is best GAF.

I asked earlier, but is Brush going to be your main main Azure? Like in Ranked?

I'm really impressed by how some of you have gotten so fantastic with it. It's so awesome. I have nothing but respect for anyone making it their main.

Now it's like that, except they now pop up out of no where, and start doing the lightsaber thing in your face. There is no room to run, and no time to react. It's awesome.

I feel like I'm going to be mixing and matching between the brush and the 52 gal deco for ranked Mononoke. I can definitely see myself going fully towards the brush though if I am blessed by RNGesus and get some gear that lets me exploit it further than I can currently. There's just too much fun to infiltration, assassination and support roles in this game.

I think what he's saying is, people are generally not doing well with it in matchmaking (in his experiences). So if you have teammates with Brush's, you just kind of have to brace for an interesting game.

That said, a lot folks on here seem to be getting really great with them. And I've personally seen Brush's used as main weapons in Ranked (even as frontal aggressive combat). So I agree with you it's not an auto-loss, and if the person is good at it, they can actually dominate with Brush. Hell, Brush + Ninja is insane.

My experience lines up with his though, and in Turf, generally people don't know how to use Brush lol and it's a lopsided match if you get 1 or 2 on your team. While I know that can be true for any weapon (that it's all random, in terms of the people you get paired up with, and how good they are at a weapon), I still think Paint Brush has a high skill/entry level to it. One that, not everyone will get.

I met a B+ rank Japanese player who made me feel like I was doing it wrong every time we engaged one another. I had my 52 gal at the time, but this person's walling ability was immaculate and just when you think "bail and get higher ground", they chased me and hit me so quickly I thought I had been taken out by another teammate. :lol

If Nintendo want to continue Splatoon on their next console, they need to add an Ethernet port to the console, unstable connections due to wireless is not fun.

I go back and forth on it. I mean, the obvious is that: it's a new weapon, give people time to learn how to use it! Like, duh...of course people will be shaky using a new weapon. So it makes sense that in matchmaking when people are using a brand new weapon, they might not be good at it.

But then I kind of think that, the Paint Brush has such a unique gameplay style, that I want to say it's a high skill/entry level weapon. And I want to predict that most people won't get the hang of it, and it will only be a small % of skilled players using it as a main. However, I could be wrong there. Maybe the Paint Brush isn't that hard to use? Maybe some people just suck at it. :P

Either way, I just know that in ranked mode, I'm seeing people use Brush and dominate. And not just dominate in ways people normally do, it's like...insane how they work the map with it.

I agree. I assume you have an Ethernet adapter, and are just saying in general, most people don't have them? Getting an adapter for your Wii U is a MUST.

What exactly is it about ethernet ports that Nintendo is wary about? I know the story with optical audio was that they weren't fond of paying royalties for it, but the ethernet port situation has always been weird to me.

Finished Splatoon SP and that final boss, final boss phase and credits soundtrack had me like

I dunno. They want the consoles to be as cheap to make as possible and they'd need Wifi in it anyway and maybe they see it as redundant because everyone has wireless routers anyway. Plus they can then sell ethernet adaptor dongles! Yay money!

100 for 1 to 3 flags, 300 for 4 to 6 flags and 1000 for the rest.
It's cumulative so you get 1400 coins for reaching at least 7 flags.

Wow thanks for that break down. Didn't know. I've honestly, been lazy and have been skipping Judd. I know, no excuse. SMH.

I've been on some major win streaks since yesterday. Today that carried through. So I need to start collecting those rewards.

It's in 4 mins for me.
I wonder if one can change Wii U's clock to get new gears, like Animal Crossing.

As someone that hates the 24 hour clock for clothes, and has been super let down 3 days in a row now....has anyone tried this? Would be insane if it worked.

The problem I was having earlier today playing brush was that I spent a lot of time playing support and harassment and not enough time charging into the enemy territory partially because while it's neat getting there first, I like optimizing so the team gets in and fucks shit up for me to take advantage of the chaos versus me having to play distraction for x many seconds before anyone shows up. The crazy thing is just doing things like being thorough in coating areas (turf war) while everyone else is on the front lines led to me getting some scores I only see with the Aerospray, but I always feel like after I do that, I play a game of reaction to enemy forces versus pressing in on them and keeping up offensive momentum. I feel like there' s just one thing I'm missing in how I set up and play through out the match before I can say that I'd be totally satisfied playing brush for the duration of Splatoon's life.

I really wish I could get good at this weapon. :p

I guess practice practice practice. Seems like some of you are picking it up really fast though. I'm envious, for sure. Are you stacking stealth perks? Ninja etc?

Probably asked before and all, but why is there sometimes "overtime" in ranked battles?

Also, what makes the secondary timer pop up when you are controlling the hill? Like, there's the main timer but then a smaller timer that counts down under that. Whats guiding that timer?

Looks like an airbrush.

>_> nevermind I just looked at the Aerospray again and that's way more airbrush. Not sure what other painting devices use air pressure gauges.
Yah, the Aerospray does look more like a traditional airbrush, though maybe the Splash-o-matic will shoot like one.

Would be neat if it let a mist out instead of the pop-pop-pop anyways.
Very curious as to what that green bar does. Could be like a crossbow as some were suggesting. Maybe you pull it back and it lets out a long dart of ink? That could be what the pressure gauge is for.

Though, it seems that the back piece would get in the way if you were to pull it back. It doesn't look like the spot near the gauge is connected to anything, so it could possibly move somehow. IT HAS TO BE THERE FOR SOME RAISIN!

Regular
Blackbelly
Mackerel

Ranked
Underpass
Walleye

This is actually great. Don't care for Blackbelly as a ranked. And I love the two maps in ranked (thank god for no Mall).

This is a great rotation. Going to take a 1 hour break, and come back and do ranked for the rest of the day.

The 2 Best Ranked Maps as Regulars and the 2 worst maps period as Ranked? :P

Heh, I think Blackbelly is much worse for Ranked. Same with mall.

Ranked would have been so much better if all maps had more zones like Domination in CoD instead of just King of the hill. I also don't like how there's camping spots near the zone on every map.

I kind of wish that Ranked was just a general mode that has both Splat Zones/Capture Points + Turf Wars. It just does matchmaking based on the rank system.

They could have even made it so just like how maps are randomly chosen, so is the mode (between Splat Zone and Turf). So each match randomizes the map + the mode you are playing in. Because I would love to have my "rank" go up playing Turf Wars.

Just stealth really. I'm currently playing around with a few ideas inspired by the post in here of the JPN player's build. I know I'm not going to be able to outgame the system and get gear that good so I'm just playing around with a bunch of builds with the intent of finding something that I like. (Plus as a prominent member of Fresh-GAF, I'd like to believe that I can have my play style and my looks too! :lol)

I wish it was more like Annex in Gears of War.
You capture the point until a certain threshold and then it moves to a new spot.

Also.. I just really love Annex.
Best gametype.
