Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

They slow you down almost to walking in enemy ink levels. But more importantly, probably because people don't know what they do, it messes with an opponent's mind, knowing something just made them slow but not knowing what or where it came from. And that's the perfect moment to jump in and ambush them.

Oh. That's it? I swear I've never seen it outside of 1v1 with my brother, so I assumed it was useless or glitchy or something.

What is a good weapon to focus on using well?

Turf Wars: Aerospray or Gal Deco
Splatzones: Splattershot Pro or Krak-on Roller
Wanting to have a unique skillset: Anything else (Dynamo Roller, chargers, Paintbrush, blasters)

Then ranked should have had a team mode from the start or they could have a separate team mode. It's not hard.

There's no defending a lack of party matchmaking guys. It's bullshit.

A ranked team mode is coming iirc, but I agree that it should've been there as soon as ranked was. Ranked without a way of proper team co-ordination isn't very fun. Especially in modes like Splatzones where lone wolfing it is nearly useless.

Yay, Jintor got to see me be not entirely terrible with the Krak-on Roller!

Good couple of games there, Jintor, but I think I'm heading to bed.

(How are you liking the brush? It hasn't quite clicked for me yet.)

HOLY FUCK at the special dynamo roller. thing has huge range and power. fuck fuck fuck

I'm a roller man, but I can't seem to "do" the Dynamo Roller. It feels like I'm a weedy squid teenager trying to swing a battleaxe. That windup is brutal, and the ink efficiency is pretty poor too.

I haven't had too much trouble with them up until this Japanese dude in the late games tonight. Dude was firing it like a goddamn automatic. He'd jump and fire and there was no escaping it. I tried to range him with my .96 Gal but he was fucking destroying me at range!

AniHawk can probably vouch, he was in those matches with me. Speaking of which, gg Ani. I had to bail because it's late and my controller went red.

If you were in a hallway with this guy (like I was in Port) you were fucked, no way around it.

good games

i'm still not sure where the brush stands. I like it, I've just got to figure out what precisely to do with it

I love love LOVE running rings around enemies though

Ambush it from around the corner or get to high ground. I've used it to get from C- to B- and generally its useless in those situations Its best at midrange, so learn where it can kill from and avoid going head to head with it in that range. Its swing is slow as shit, too, so if you can shoot one before it starts its swing its a really easy kill. As for killing it with a paintbrush or normal roller, use your speed to your advantage because it will outrange you every time.

I like the fact we are being given a few months to get tactics down as Nintendo trickle out content like weapons and maps. Come August I want a few of my friends to git gud so we can have a sniff of a chance.

I don't mind them trickling out maps, weapons and modes as much as I do them trickling out the party features. Those really would make the game a lot more fun without fucking up anything.

Yeah, I could see that working. unfortunately we were on port so getting high enough was never really an option. with the jump it was just like a tidal wave of ink killing me from anywhere.

funny enough we ended up winning because we rushed past him and just painted the other side and took out his teammates. But he did go 10-0 and killed me like 5 times. first time that's happened to me.

I've only beat the first world in single-player. Can you unlock weapon loadouts for use in multiplayer?

Also, I've boughtall gear available in the stores. How do I make new stuff start appearing for sale?

You unlock weapons and gear for completing SP.

Stores fresh stock every 24h.

I don't really mind there not being party matchmaking, but I would really like to have Friends Only lobbies, or a spectator mode while I'm waiting to spawn in

there's got to be a better way to get a gaf room going than by slowly taking over a pub room

The Sunken Scroll at each boss will provide a blueprint for a weapon. That weapon will be buyable in the weapon shop if your level is high enough. For each "boss weapon", a higher level is required.

Man.. one game I got 8points and because of that I have to win an extra game to get to A-. I was at 98points at one point!

And, a little bit ago I was in a room with a [GAF]Clay.
It was on the warehouse.

I see you're also a fan of the Splash Wall!

The miiverse stopped being Fresh 4 days ago when people ran out of:

- Squid Puns.
- Spongebob References.
- Ranked Complains.
- Lewd Pictures.

"Stay Fresh!"...we cannot.

I'll wait for more obscure references from the Japanese, those have been pretty great :y

I just played with this awesome japanese player who kept shielding me (inkbrush) with the gal's inkwall, which makes me wonder:

Amidst the let downs, have you guys and gals ever played with an actual GOOD (and random) team player?

I've got stuck in B-

Just can't make it higher. Went 92 yesterday but then started losing and now I'm at 42 or so.

Playing aggro with Splattershot jr. worked pretty well but it's shit on some levels.

Just need practising. I'd like to play other games but first I have to get to the A rank. Could take forever lol.

I almost always get first or second place on my team, but once I got last place with like 1000 and the rest of my team scored even better than me. Needless to say, we won that round.

But it usually seems like the amazing players I encounter are on the other team.

Spike reroll leaves a lot to be desired, or he's trolling me, first I get 3 quick respawn, then reroll again to get exactly the same as I started with, but 60,000 lighter

Myriam keeps rolling me grenade perks on gear I want to use with Sprinkler/Seeker loadouts

Ruined my contacts so fucking hard

Actually, I was wondering if the seeker travels farther when you have gear with the grenade throw skill equipped. Does anybody have info on that?

Playing in parties will divide the user base, since some players will stick to that mode, just as people stick to private lobbies in MK8. With MK8, it's easier since online isn't the main way to play the game, and the attach rate for a MK home console game can be estimated fairly well (by anyone but Polygon).

Splatoon is a new IP with no bots. Personally, I think it's wise to first build the user base and make players familiar with the "standard" Splatoon modes, and then split the user base.

Alright - got this shit working. Bought a new router just to get Splatoon to work.

Have played for a couple of hours and got to level 8. I clocked the single player last week -was finishing the campaign essential to get the upgrades for multiplayer? Is it safe to assume that everyone else playing online also have all the upgrades unlocked?

What are some 'Welcome to Splatoon' fundamentals? Roller is too much fun.
