Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Why am I always the only non-japanese guy in any ranked room I join? Seriously, has no one but Japanese guys made it to A rank or something? I hate not being able to read everyones names.

It's hilarious yeah, that's how it be

for real once I hit B+ it was all gals and japanese, shit they all die to the charger anyway so nbd lol, ranking up in this game is pretty easy right now

I usually see about 3-4 english names playing around rank A at my time after work. There's a lot less people playing in europe maybe?

But everyone has specials. Specials allow changing of power in a match.

You don't seem to have an issue with specials but with the comeback feature.

I have won and lost games from the penalty time.

I can see how it is frustrating to be at 1 second and still lose but you need to gave the other team credit to get their shit together to beat you. Without the comeback feature, games would be decided in the first minute of the game. It will last a minute also.

It is kind of more the comeback feature. I just don't like the way it's designed. It's kind of inherently frustrating because you never know truly how much progress you're making. I'd rather have just a countdown from 300 points with no penalty points, or a flat penalty point rate for changing control instead of one that varies with the amount of points scored thus far.

If they want to keep the penalty system, I think there's ways they could do it better. Like, for instance, Port Mackerel is really frustrating in its current state. It's not at all designed for big comebacks, but for stalemates with some small comebacks. I think it'd be a lot better if it's countdown timer was just 50. I think Saltspray Rig would also really benefit from a small change of just making the spawn point closer to the splatzone, because right now it's really far away and takes a tad too long to swim too.

It's my go to for leveling up clothing abilities quickly, The mines are not all that useful, but inkstrike is solid. It's great for moving paint quikly, but falls behind in offensive areas.

The mines are actually really, really strong as well, but they're tricky to get used to. A lot of quick retreating may be necessary.

You should treat a map such as Port Mackerel as timeout maps rather than KO maps. You will spend most games playing the full five minutes if not more. That doesn't mean it's a stalemate, this means that achieving victory is more through attrition than complete takeovers. With the amount of points you gain at higher ranks, a five minute game duration is appropriate.

GGs to everyone I played with.

Most of the high-ranked people seem to be Japanese, and some that stay up during the whole night lol.

That's because you ain't wielding a Gal. Give in to the Gal side, we have echolocators.

While true, I kind of hope some of these guns get rebalanced in the first big patch. It's kind of boring when all guns in Turf War are MG's and all guns in Splatzone are Gals.

I use an MG and a Gal though.

Because winning is fun.

I'm quite happy that I learned to read hiragana and katakana (well half way on katakana) just this week. Can finally work out what the names are. They aren't that exciting...

GGs King Snake! :D I felt we were both carrying our teams, and completely wrecking when together

I don't understand why the game modes are being treated as ranked vs. unranked. Why can't we play ranked Turf Wars, or regular battle Splat Zones? Are there any plans to change this, especially with incoming modes such as Tower Control? What's that gonna be classified as?

So does my megagun that I kill you with from halfway across the map

I don't actually use e liter
I already have

Only morons, and/or you got lucky in skatepark.
I refuse to believe that you killed three competent players with one inkstrike.

I'd argue the only special you can do that consistently with are bomb rush (due to being the most unpredictable special in the game), and maybe inkzooka. I've had multiple instances where the entire enemy team got eliminated over the span of one echo, but that doesn't really count.

Most likely to aggregate people together so lobbies fill up as fast as possible. Tower Control and Rainmaker are both ranked battles.

Is it me or do u ppl think this weapon is too OP?

Wait until you get into the deep end of the pool and see the gal guns (specifically the .52 Gal Deco).

Also, count me in for supporting Inkling for Smash.

The Inklings were an immediate "I can dig it" pick from E3 2014, but after playing the game, they shot up the list to share fourth place (with Wonder Red) on my increasingly small list of most wanted characters. Just when I thought I was getting closer to growing out of Smash character desires, Nintendo pulls me back in. :lol

I have been using nothing but different Gals since I unlocked them (well, inkbrush as well since it was launched), and sometimes I feel like a scrub since I feel like I'm going with the flavor of the week.

I think the zapper is a step in the right direction, though. Given its loadout I was hoping more people would stop using gals in its favor in Splatzones, since I really think its more about their loadouts than their raw performance. The .96 and the deco hit all the right spots in Splatzones.

E-liters were a mistake, they do nothing but trash.

I just survived an encounter against 2 bubblers when I had my back to a wall. I used my Killer Wail to push them away, then a charged shot to one to push him even farther and then another as his bubble ran off to kill him. Just when the other guy was about to get me a teammate miracuosly appeared from the side and killed him. It was epic!!!

I don't think it's really a balance issue. Seems to me that it's just a team composition issue. Since you can't change load out for your team, and teams are random, it's just better to go with MG and Gals since they are just well-rounded weapons for those game modes. I use all weapons though, except chargers since I don't have the mindset for that kind of weapon.

BLAST IT GAF

I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR TWO HOURS
JUST TO GET SO HAWT

I get to 6.0+ and without fail my team refuses to use their brain. Three man push on the bottom of Saltspray Rig while a single guy fights me on top. Super Jump into death. Don't get me started on this one guy that keeps warping around. I just. Want. 7.0+.

Please.

;-;

Okay
I got it
So Hawt #2 for today achieved

Got lucky enough to land the teleporter on my side two times in a row. The dude cleaned up the enemies in his Zerg rush (because he can without worry) while I sat back and covered the base the two rollers left behind.

I don't think you know how much this was bugging me. But it's done now and I can get off for two hours. @.@

I love the way maps are being slowly trickled out. It really allows you to spend time with and master each map and it's something exciting to look forward too. Same thing with weapons.

New weapons really messes with the Meta game and I love it

7.0 is on fire though isnt it? No so hawt

But I love it. Burst Bombs are also stupid fun. =D It's also fun to snipe from very far away.

Edit: Oh, that's what you meant. =D

I worded it pretty poorly, to be honest :p

E-liter is actually one of the few chargers I'm willing to try, it really seems very fun.

Once upon a time I was really worried about it being the best weapon in the game. It was basically the fastest Inkstriker in the game, and Inkstrike is serious business.

Nowadays though Paintbrush probably inks up just as fast or faster than the Aerospray RG does, and the RG gets severely out-zoned by other ranged weapons until it gets Inkstrike. Only being able to push or pressure when you have your special built up is really sucky, especially if you die before you get to use your special.

Aerospray MG on the other hand is a weapon that isn't quite as dependent on it's special. It fires as fast and damages as much as the RG, but Seekers are also really fun to play around with (even if they take like 90% of your ink) and Inkzooka basically equips you with a super E-Liter 3K for awhile.

None. Never. Not a single one. I think I'd remember
I guess my E-Liter play vs you yesterday was average at best. =P However, E-Liter vs Heng yesterday was stupid fun, especially with the Burst Bombs.

Before you do, play with the Squiffers for a few games, then play with the Splat or Kelp Chargers for a few more games. Then go to the E-Liter for however many games you want. But then go back down to the Splat/Kelp Charger and tell me it doesn't feel like a Squiffer after getting used to the slow charge time of the E-Liter. =P

wait you are using the E-Liter? I suppose I just never really had the time to notice while you showered me with those freaking bombs

Here I am, trying to relax by splatting my friends who just bought the game, and bam, DaBoss come out of nowhere and splat me... Well, at least he has the E-Litre

I have played a couple matches with the Squiffer, guess I'll try the kelp charger tomorrow and then go for the e-liter, the idea of coming back to a faster charging weapon sounds quite fun indeed :D.
