If I understood it correctly, and from the information we have, the investor will chip in with another $5m after the kickstarter has ended, so they'll end up with roughly $10m.
Yeah, 5mil was the number being spoken of in the early days, but don't think the 5mil from kickstarter will all go towards development. A large chunk of it will go into production (they are selling physical copies) and the editor probably has planned to keep the rest as profit on selling these copies.
That's my "glass half empty" perspective on this anyways.
