Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I have not completely settle on a play style, but I do enjoy sneaking around, inking enemy territory behind their backs, and killing people who can't see me. Although my score is only average, I tend to get the most kills (like it matters in this game).

I played with the Roller, good weapon, but I don't care how open I feel with it. Always feels like I am at the mercy of shooters given the short range and it hard to be sneaky with a Roller and lay paint.

The Aerospray is obtain by completing single player, correct?

Btw, the Rollers are far from overpower. I personally find them easy to kill. It's when they sneak up on you that you're screwed.

E: There's a better explanation (and a correct one at that) below.

The golden aerospray is from SP but I think the other variant is just from leveling up. Not positive though.

Ugh, fuck random maps. Urchin Underpass 8 times in a row instead of the new map. I wish they did a voting system instead, and if they want to still add some randomness do it the way mario kart 8 does. Just anything would be better than this system.

Man I totally agree. I like both maps, but at least some feeling of choice is needed!

I still can't wrap my head around the Kelp Dome. I also might regret bringing the E-Liter there. I would bring the Splat Charger, but I'm having so much fun with the Burst Bombs on the E-Liter.

Have you tried the regular Splattershot Jr.? It's the most forgiving weapon in the game, and it gets benefits from any ability. If you've tried any weapons, it'd be good to know how you did with them!

I only dabble with it. It's a good weapon overall, but I wasn't clicking. Maybe I should give it another shot after I went through a few guns so I can get a fresher feel for it. Although, I am not a fan of the sub-weapons. I like the sticky bombs better.

All my matches on the kelp dome so far have been wins. Most of them have been complete blowouts. What's going on here

Have they made it so friend lobbies can play in the regular Turf Wars rotation? I just had a match where there were five people with the same name something like SUNI | <insert name here>. All four of them were on the same team, with one overflow going to the team I was on. Haven't seen that before.

You could always join friends. You just can't pick what team you'll be on.

Yeah, kinda, you gotta go into "Join Friends." If enough people join the same friend (or people linked in the same room), the room will fill with people from the same site. That's how the GAF rooms have been getting setup.

It still randomizes teams, though.

Gotcha. Must have been a group of people that made their name's all the same for some reason. Hadn't seen it before. Thanks.

I was thinking they'd introduced some weird clan thing that I wasn't familiar with.

I've played Kelp Dome in the story mode, its design is pretty open I wonder if it brings any different gameplay styles to turf wars - can anybody shed any light?

This is my style of play. Ninja Squid around and keep on the move. I strongly recommend using echolator. You want to be able to hunt or avoid the enemy, as you see fit. I'm pretty sure half the players out there have no idea what the floating circle around their body means, as they try to hide in ink and around obstacles while I casually aim right at their face.

The Custom Splattershot Jr is great for Ninja, but more range is preferred, so I recommend the .96 Gal. It's perfect. You want the element of surprise, and the 96 kills in ~two hits. It also has the range to hit those perched chargers in the Mall.

Haven't tried that type of weapon because of the slow firing speed, but I will by one to test it out, thank you.

Kelp Dome is basically run around like an idiot painting overly large areas, turn around when you see someone with a long range weapon in front of you, go paint other overly large area.

It's too big.

Might be too early to say, but unlike most maps, there doesn't seem to be one point of contention in a neutral/middle area like in Urchin Underpass, Walleye Warehouse, Arowana Mall, etc. Even Saltspray Rig has 2 clear neutral zones that are good to control.

There is one spot in the middle of this map, but it doesn't seem to be as important, because every area of the map is pretty wide and has a lot of ground to cover. It really seems like that map keeps you moving from one area to another much more than other maps.

You can use the brush through grates right?

Yes if you like getting cornholed on kelp dome. I tried it...you may as well setoff fireworks above your head. The spread pattern is so big that everyone spots you more than any other possible weapon of you do that on the grating. You'll be a sitting duck up there. Its not bad if you make it to the middle though...it hold the territory that hugs the edge of that pillar well enough folks can't get too close. Just watch out for things like sprinklers gettin' tossed. Personally...I think brushes wont cut it here. Either get rapid fire aerospray or fish for something with radar, seekers, or bubbler.

New map comes out. Forced to play on Urchin Underpass twice as often. This is so much better than picking what I want to play.

With that said, Kelp Dome is a nice addition to the lineup. Its definitely a Charger map. So many long open spaces and if anyone goes on the scaffolding they're a free shot.

Some fun Miiverse posts, look MouldyK
one for the splatzones:
and my personal favourite

also, imagine that you're a squid/kid. you have just got back to the Booyah Base after an exciting round of Turfwar. You talked with Spyke, ordered a shirt. Then went to do some shopping.

but near the vending machine, you find something that will change your whole small inkling life forever.
