Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Not true. Yes painting over enemy territory is double the net gain, but it's harder to get a hold of. I've had cases where we lose by 2% and that's because nobody painted a key path that could've given us the edge. Painting your part of the 60% is what's gonna count for the win. You don't have to be super detailed about it and you're gonna do it during the whole match not right at the start all of it, but it's important to little by little paint most of your home turf while you keep pushing forward.

You can't look at the final map when the match is over and determine why you lost the game. Can't point at some spot of unpainted ground and say "oh that's why."

Maybe you left a lot unpainted, but the enemy left even MORE unpainted at their base...but then one of your teammates went and wasted time painting all their unpainted area which they went on to cover up again. You just don't know. If that guy hadn't been so stupid, maybe you'd be looking at the endgame map and see even less painted in their base than yours, and you'd still lose.

Brushy is meh. It can work but it suffers on grating doin the shake shake shake. It gets special but its a huge target because its so loud with its ink pattern it gets scouted FAST. Its good and mobile though but aerospray seems legit. Also bubbler equipped weapons are good too. The ability to endure is great to have here.

This will be splattershot/aerospray territory.
My teammates are dead 90% of the time in Ranked Play.

^also this.

So I know this is a really biased place to ask this question, but as the game is now, do you think it's worth full price? I know Nintendo said they're going to be rolling out more content throughout summer, as well as better multiplayer options with friends... So I'm torn if I should pick up the game now to try it out, or just wait a month or two and hopefully snatch it for $5-$10 less.

Fuck this game and the communication errors. How is this fucking acceptable? Why aren't people complaining. It also sometimes
takes up to 5 minutes or more to get a match running. Talking about ranking mode.

Edit: Yes edzi the game is worth the $60.

This map rotation stuff is really starting to get stupid. I'm getting so tired of playing the same map so many times in a row. After an hour I finally got kelp dome...

We've already gotten 2 new maps, 2 new weapons, and one new mode. Content is coming weekly, essentially.

Hooking up with friends is cumbersome, but possible. Gaf plays together all day every day, basically.

So as far as value, it was worth my money. But whether it's worth yours is up to you.

So when I first saw kelp dome I thought it was a dome specifically built for ink battles, like a stadium.

But it looks like it's actually a green house. For kelp, of course.

Well, I just impulse ordered from amazon since I'm too curious to wait... I guess I'll find out this weekend.

Can you guys tell me how exactly the multiplayer with friends works currently? I heard you can't really get into teams with people on your friends list, so do we just have to always play with randoms?

You probably won't find the game on sale anywhere for ages, it's a first party Nintendo title, and one that's selling very well. They won't have to fire sale it or anything.

It's completely worth it, really fun, lots to see and do and buy and unlock.

Kelp Dome is the Ridley of Splatoon.

Echolocator rocks that map though, free ink refill on the grates is a big deal.

Hopefully it's better in Splat Zones.

Could just be everyone learning the map but it has felt like every match I've done so far was onesided in whoever won. Seems hard to mount comebacks due to the sheer coverage involved.

Also it is hilarious to see a kraken chase you and fall through the grate.

You can join the same 8 man room as friends, it's just random whether or not you'll end up on the same team as them. So half the time you'll be friends and half the time you'll be enemies, which I've found is still really fun. :)

I've never been splatted by the same person so many times. Heng, I hate you. Well, not really, but I'm playing horribly tonight and the fact that I kept running into you only added to my frustrations. It's all in good fun, though.

Nah. The visibility makes it charger country

Let's try this new stage out!

Better bring your aerospray unless you want tear stained ink to flow lol.

Probably be a better stage for turf wars than zone wars. Not certain what it will be like if its a stage for Tower Mode once it arrives.

Tried that but everyone rocked ninjasquid. Once they got out in the open they ran fast. However, I bet the Eliter 3k with its echolocater ,the Squiffer with its bubbler, the new squiffer with its mines, or the Nzap 85 with its echolocator may work.

Were you running any of those?

People need to remember that unpainted ground doesn't matter at all.

If you look at the map and notice that some ground near your base is unpainted but the enemy base is all painted up, don't think to yourself, "darn we would've won if only we'd painted that bit near our base."

Because if someone had taken the time to paint that spot near your base, that's time that they WEREN'T painting elsewhere on the map, and at the end of the game you would've just been like "darn we lost because we didn't paint as much as they did."

That's always why you lose, because you got outplayed by the enemy team. Unpainted ground is meaningless. 50% of the map could go unpainted, and you could still win as long as you maintained control over the remaining 50%.

But you're scored based on the percentage of the entire map not just what is painted

We play a lot of all GAF matches by joining someone from GAF that's already playing. It's a bit more cumbersome than just starting a room, but it works. There's a list of Nintendo Network ID's in the OP. Add a few people!

Activating echolocator a split second before I get splatted and watching my team decimate the opponent team as I respawn is so satisfying

I like that the actual Spawn is on the platform where the Zapfish was. In SP its on ground level. I dunno why, it's just a simple detail but I lik-zzZz lagged out.

you sound like an aerospray squid, though to be honest basically every weapon benefits from ninja squid and ink resist

I have not completely settle on a play style, but I do enjoy sneaking around, inking enemy territory behind their backs, and killing people who can't see me. Although my score is only average, I tend to get the most kills (like it matters in this game).

I played with the Roller, good weapon, but I don't care how open I feel with it. Always feels like I am at the mercy of shooters given the short range and it hard to be sneaky with a Roller and lay paint.

The Aerospray is obtain by completing single player, correct?

Btw, the Rollers are far from overpower. I personally find them easy to kill. It's when they sneak up on you that you're screwed.
