Street Fighter V new pics

Loving these shots! Artsyle is so much better too!

Haggar poster at the top! Give us Haggar Capcom!

Huge leap graphically and it looks very clean and impressive but I still don't like the artstyle. Ryu's arm looks like a doughnut twist. Do we really need to see that level of musculature to believe the guy is strong? Come on now.

You mean looking as ripped as he's always looked?

If someone told me this was a hand sculpted model I would almost believe them. The tiny details in the boots and clothing is just awesome

lol.

I want to borrow these people's copy of SF4.

It looks like a really nice SF4, but it still looks like SF4. Why people are surprised a bunch of (probably) doctored still frames look nicer than how it's looked during all of its playtests is beyond me.

I really hope the stun meter is different lengths for different characters . I really like SF for that ...a lot of characters had different stun/heath values . It really makes you think about your character choice before you do some bat shit crazy stuff

Or it could be the same length but fill up at different rates, just like the health bar.

Hope game has clothes animation like 3rd strike, or maybe Nvidia can do some magic and work with capcom to add it as a gameworjs feature that would wreck the fps...

Like I said, like to borrow your copy of SF4.

I wouldn't mind if both Eagle and Birdie return.
That would be great, but I don't think we'll get both, at least not initially.

I think Eagle has a lot of things to offer the series. His fighting style is totally unique to SF, and having a cool, opening gay character in the series would drawn a lot of positive attention. (And be totally rad.)

Yeah its fucking nuts. The in game character's look like they are actual real models made out of something like clay or something idk. It looks CRAZY though

Totally reminded me of this:

Yes, it's not nearly as good looking, but I'm the guy who posted the DS comparison screenshot as well, so bite me!

Of course they can. It just requires higher fidelity to pull off nicely. It's been perfectly doable for a while.

What the hell does fidelity have to do with squash and stretch? Your 3D model can only move on the points of articulation given to it. You can not expand, contract, or transform your 3D model unless you are using animated CG like movies, it's pain staking and never looks as good as hand drawn. Squash and stretch is faked in 3D models by model swapping like Xrd did. When we are talking about controllable 3D game characters it's not possible or worth the CPU and GPU power if it was.

So MKX is also just a nicer MK9?

I love that they've found a balance in the physiques of the character models. They still look buff and powerful, but not all bloated. (The hands are still hilariously large though.)

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean, squash and stretch is perfectly possible in 3D models. Jak and Dexter on PS2 used it extensively.

Look about as similar as ST and SF3 to me.

That's fine I guess. But there's a reason people kept complaining about how closely it looked to SF4 when it was initially revealed.

Like, I look at that background and immediately think "It's good that Dimps won't be going hungry any time soon."

The UI looks nice too. Very simple, but sleek. Liking the portraits too. Maybe the only thing that could be upgraded is the life bars, even though I don't mind them.

This game look so beautiful. SFV is one of the big reasons why I'm going to pick up PS4! :)

Edited: Also I really like clay-ish art direction that they went with.

In fairness, those people were in need of an optometrist because SF4 and the SF5 reveal looked nothing alike.

Some of them just wanted sprites or something, and that's never going to happen.

The backgrounds are definitely pretty weak

/shrug

The reason to me is people see Ryu and he looks like Ryu, so it looks like SF4. For some people, no matter how different something looks, if it's the same character, it looks the same. Nothing more than that to me.

If anything, this is Ikeno's SF3 art realized in 3D. Definitely looks closer to SF3 than SF4 to me.

But whatever. Looks amazing and we get more info tomorrow. Excitement mounds.

I have asolutely no idea why you think scaling or stretching 3D models is "impossible" outside of animated CG movies. Fucking bizarre.

Applying deformers to 3d models isn't arcane technology.
