Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

alright, time to test this new map. Valar morghulis

I'm a bad example because I have a bit of a hard time reacting to enemy fire at the moment due to the lag but I feel chargers can be very decent against blasters in 1v1 situations. Both can one-hit kill if aimed correctly and chargers outrange blasters even with low-charged shots and your fire rate isn't that much worse. You need to use them like a Squiffer in those situations. Bit of a different story of course with the E-Liter

Still hard when they bunnyhop all of the time. =P But yeah, I've been having a ton of fun with the E-Liter. I try to avoid close encounters, but maps like Walleye can be tricky if they're trying to invade your base via the hallway and you have no choice but to run to the center of the map or face them at the lower entrance. Then again, sniping a bunnyhopping Blaster is great. =D

Not a fan of Kelp. Really like the verticalness, in that you can 'drop' through the mesh parts as a squid. Level is way too large, spent half a Turf War match without seeing anyone.

Hey us Class B'ers are good honest hard working folk.

I had it all man! Diamond watches. Lexus cars... all this and more are available when you transcend the simple status of "B"!

Kelp is pretty eh on turf, but it's pretty good ranked I think. The interesting topography of the Splat Zone is really quite good.

well, I don't know what 'stay (to remain in a state)' is and denshi jisho told me you can use 込む that way
I believe 込む is only used like that with verb stems. I think you want something like Xになっている but I'm not 100% sure, I'll try to remember to check tomorrow. EDIT: But you would need to conjugate whatever into a command anyways for it to really work :P

words are hard

well about to get knocked out of B+ back to B. Fuck all things

I know that feel. Was mid B last night and fell into a funk by dropping into mid B-. Thankfully I grinded back to mid B again. I think I know now that I must live my life as a roller.

On a more positive note, the USB Ethernet adapter I got yesterday helped out a lot. I had no disconnects at all last night, even playing mostly with JPs.

ugh started in b+, knocked to b, clawed my way back to b+, probably gonna get knocked back again... I guess I'll try and get back to B+ again and then go play the witcher or something

back to b hell. fuck everything. this game is the worst

*switches weapon and goes back to ranked*

EDIT: I've just found a better way to do this meme.

Rollers in general. I would think theyre meant to be tanks. Why else be soooooo slow. Theyre designed for up close but in reality, these weapons seemingly output the same attack power. If i roll into an inkbrush, it wins by default on account of its speed. Additionally, Dude was rolling a high rate fire gun and it was insta death for me. I dont get it.

"Tank" is a term used to describe a class in a game that can take a large amount of damage. All players in Splatoon take exactly the same amount of damage (unless you have abilities that improve your defense). Also, tanks usually don't deal a huge amount of damage themselves, and instead rely on outlasting opponents, or the support of others.

If anything, the roller weapon is a glass cannon. Incredibly powerful, but leaves you extremely vulnerable.

I am so goddamn addicted to this game that I'm still playing it with a broken gamepad. I have to physically pry my R2 button away from the pad when I want to stop shooting. I am otherwise perpetually holding it down.

Roller is surprisingly playable.

what i actually want instead of squid jump is for the game to just loadup my miiverse drawing so I can keep working on it in between rounds

I'M ABOUT TO GET KNOCKED ALL THE FUCKING WAY BACK TO B-

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

A little fanart i'm making, i'm probably gonna upload it on Teepublic/Design By Humans and so on when it's finished... :P

Took me a while to get used to the new map, but liking it now. Quite insane how there is no safe spot, you can just circle around everything. So random with randoms. :(

Haha, awesome!

So when is this splat event or new map cos my Wii U ain't downloading shit.

Just spent 30000 on re-rolling.

Then another 30000 because that re-roll was worse than the initial setup.

Second roll was pretty good but good lord, 120k gone in minutes (bought 2 slots as well).

Fucking sea snail junkie Spyke.

okay, as a sniper you can pretty much camp the entire game on the ramp to the catwalk just north of the spawn point and protect the entire left half of the map and safely invade the enemy territory in the last 20 or so second - I haven't really found a good reason to go to the right side yet. Oh, and going on the catwalk without a long-range weapon seems like a bad idea

I don't know, I think Kelp Dome probably my least favorite map so far
---

did some quick Damage Up testing with the Kelp Charger, as far as my equipment allowed it:

no Damage Up: uncharged shot (UC) damage 40; fully charged (FC) damage 160
1 Damage Up (Sub): UC 41.1; FC 164.6 (+ ~2.9% damage)
1 Damage Up (Main): UC 43.6; FC 174,5 (+ ~9.1%)
1 Damage Up (Main), 1 Damage Up (Sub): UC 44.6; FC 178.4 (+ 11.5%)
2 Damage Up (Main), 1 Damage Up (Sub): UC 47.3; FC 189.5 (+ ~18.4%)
2 Damage Up (Main), 2 Damage Up (Sub): UC 48.1; FC 192.4 (+ ~20.2%)
3 Damage Up (Main), 2 Damage Up (Sub): UC 50; FC 200.2 (+ ~25.1%)
3 Damage Up (Main), 3 Damage Up (Sub): UC 50.5; FC 202 (+ ~26.2%)

so there's definitely diminishing returns for Damage Up (the reddit post was wrong) and it's really hard to get more than 25% extra damage

Do you think it makes sense to have 3 Damage Up as main perks?

Oh and thanks for the comments on the fanart, i'll probably fix the eyes!

Getting this game to run at a stable 60fps must have been an optimization nightmare. I am really really impressed with the tech as a PC and PS4 gamer. Big props to Nintendo.

Speaking of, why didn't DF do an analysis of the full game? It certainly deserves it.

You can throw a bomb and force the sniper to move. The duel squelcher might also be able to reach it from the ground in the middle or "their" side area.

can't really say. With 3 Damage Up (main) and 2 Damage Up (2 sub) you can 2-shot people (not accounting for defense) with uncharged shots and do +25% damage, so in every situation in which you normally wouldn't quite deal enough damage to outright 1-shot someone, the extra damage could translate into a kill - like, when you deal 75 damage with a semi-charged shot without Damage Up but 100 damage with the abilities

having one or two Damage Up (main) and some subs on your gear is probably worth it, I think, for the extra 9/18% damage. Personally, I stack full Damage Up just because

btw you are not allowed to use bombs against me anymore

Wow this guy went from B+ (maybe lower, I tuned in at B+) to A using the golden dynamo roller. He makes it look easy.

http://www.twitch.tv/guu_3 his channel if you want to see him in action.

Yeah, it's obvious Gold Dynamo (used right) being beastly in Kelp Dome Splat Zones.

The dynamo is godly in rank period.

Just jump and swing all day long. So much range, one shot kill and lots of ink spread.
The slow movement doesnt hurt it in rank since you don't move much. It is pretty OP in ranked.

Just had some really good games. The entire enemy team bubbled and came through the middle of the Saltspray splatzone at once and I just threw a Splash Wall in their faces and laughed.
