Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

The dynamo is godly in rank period.

Just jump and swing all day long. So much range, one shot kill and lots of ink spread.
The slow movement doesnt hurt it in rank since you don't move much. It is pretty OP in ranked.

Very annoying to deal with for sure. Spam that shit all day.
 
Just got 1860p on Kelp Dome, highest I've ever got.

That map is a god send for good scores in Turf War. Wouldn't be surprised if I got a 2000+ score on it soon.
 
how do you get the dynamo roller anyway?
I think the last boss will unlock it. I'm not 100% sure.

I'll have to try that out tomorrow. It looks fun

If you're asking about the hub I was talking about, yeah he's pretty good. I'm not sure how his play style would transfer to turf war though since it relies on him sneaking around his ink and wait for the opponent to come to him.

I guess I find him impressive because I haven't bothered with rollers since the testfire. I should work on them some day.

Another awesome map, Kelp Dome is a design dream with all the bridge that you can pierce in squid form, pure fun for me!
 
okay, as a sniper you can pretty much camp the entire game on the ramp to the catwalk just north of the spawn point and protect the entire left half of the map and safely invade the enemy territory in the last 20 or so second - I haven't really found a good reason to go to the right side yet. Oh, and going on the catwalk without a long-range weapon seems like a bad idea

I don't know, I think Kelp Dome probably my least favorite map so far

did some quick Damage Up testing with the Kelp Charger, as far as my equipment allowed it:

no Damage Up: uncharged shot (UC) damage 40; fully charged (FC) damage 160
1 Damage Up (Sub): UC 41.1; FC 164.6 (+ ~2.9% damage)
1 Damage Up (Main): UC 43.6; FC 174,5 (+ ~9.1%)
1 Damage Up (Main), 1 Damage Up (Sub): UC 44.6; FC 178.4 (+ 11.5%)
2 Damage Up (Main), 1 Damage Up (Sub): UC 47.3; FC 189.5 (+ ~18.4%)
2 Damage Up (Main), 2 Damage Up (Sub): UC 48.1; FC 192.4 (+ ~20.2%)
3 Damage Up (Main), 2 Damage Up (Sub): UC 50; FC 200.2 (+ ~25.1%)
3 Damage Up (Main), 3 Damage Up (Sub): UC 50.5; FC 202 (+ ~26.2%)

so there's definitely diminishing returns for Damage Up (the reddit post was wrong) and it's really hard to get more than 25% extra damage

what i actually want instead of squid jump is for the game to just loadup my miiverse drawing so I can keep working on it in between rounds
Awesome idea. Splatoon´s the first game that´s motivated me to actually draw something on the gamepad and post it in miiverse...I´d love to do more drawings, but that means I wouldn´t be playing Splatoon!
 
You know what I kind of want, but kind of don't want, but actually I do want.

I want Nintendo to announce a Splatoon sequel or spinoff game at E3, to be released in a year or year-and-a-half.

Because if they don't then we'll have to wait at least 2 years! And that makes me sad.

Am going to submit mine to T-Fury myself but might have a look at those other places if they don't like it. I did an 8 bit Metroid one which they turned their noses up at, miserable gits lol

Usual roller strategy doesn't work all that well for me in Kelp Dome, too easy for people to run away from Kraken, area too wide for proper ambush, and those walkways, brrrr.
 
I need to grow a second thumb so I can aim and press X at the same time.

Or a button remap option so I could put secondaries on L and jump on R.

Teefury is the biggest one, so it's really really hard to get printed.
I was able to get a print there last year, and they will print a Jurassic Park tee of mine next week, but that's about it. :/

Post the Metroid one anyway, now we're curious! :D
 
I have come to the conclusion that the kraken is under powered

it's so easily countered. really funny to see people use it as a trump card in a stand off and then I'll just swim around them and splat them immediately after it finishes. I imagine many curse words were yelled at the TV screen.

If you can do that so easily than that person dont know how to use the kraken heh
 
So when your in squid form submerged in ink, can you aim the angle and power at which you squid jump? Like could I choose to jump higher rather than longer? Short jump vs. long jump?
 
I don't know if it's lag or what but enemies always seem to kill me faster than I can kill them.

Feels like it takes forever to kill anyone, then someone with pop up and kill me near instantly with the same weapon.

That feeling when you get a triple splat and the rest of your sorry ass team still can't secure the zone..

Up to B- though. Splattershot Pro is wonderful, new PB: 16 splats in a game.

Well I use the kraken mostly as a mean to refill my ink, infiltrate on enemy territory really easily, and launch surprise attacks. I dont think it's meant to be a overpowered attack special.
If one thing that I think they should fix is making the jumping much faster. Compared to just moving it's god-awful slow, and it gets annoying when you are close to someone want to kill them and they try to get away.

Same. At first I was like, "Yo...where the hell do I even go?!" but after two or three rounds, I got a feel for it and I'm ambushing people like crazy and splatting a bunch of fools traversing the catwalks (especially snipers).

Edit: Random rant here but I'm about fed up with all you rollers and inkbrushers who fail to ink over the start zone >_< I shouldn't be having to do that with a .52 Deco lol. Of course they can do whatever they want, I just figured it made sense and was an unspoken/unwritten rule that rollers and inkbrushers know their "roll" and at least swab the launch pad area, it helps out and allows the shooters to head out and get things poppin'.

Also, I have to say...I'm not missing voice chat like I thought I would. I don't have to listen to immature people and dogs barking or dudes white-knighting and swooning over female players. It's kind of cool actually how you can communicate with your teammates in subtle ways but I do hope they eventually add a plethora of words/phrases and allow us to customize the d-pad to our liking with them. Or hell...implement the system Phantasy Star Online has where you can create little chat bubble drawings/emoticons and type out short phrases. Those things might only really be useful though if there was a way to choose from lengthier match times, even just like a 5 minute match or an option to play a double-length match at 6 minutes long.
