Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Disappointed that that is as low as BroForce is going to go as £8 is too rich for my blood, when a game like Rebirth is valued lower.

Really damn shitty of Valve by taking spots off the daily deals with fake daily deals of their games.( Portal 2 and CS:GO are not actual daily deals. They are at their regular discounted price that last the whole sale)

Now we need answers!

Mops the floor with the PS4 version if that's what you're asking. I'm running 60fps on a 980 with various FOV fixes and what not. You can get rid of the black bars too. Definitely worth it.

Cool, thanks. Early reports had me worried. First "big" purchase of this sale for me.

Are Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishment and Testament of Sherlock Holmes any good? I like point and click adventures games if it matters.

The campaign is worth it, at very least.

Unfortunately I don't think I'm that interested in the campaign, I'm kinda feeling in the mood for an online military shooter. Or should I wait for Battlefield 3/4 on Origin? Likely going to have some steep discounts as well in the summer.

Also, I'm definitely buying CS:GO, but I think I'll wait to see if it hits Daily or Flash.

How impenetrable is CS? I've had my eye on it for a while, but it seems like it'd be incredibly hardy to get into, given how high the level of play is.

I was terrible when I started. I'm still not good, but much better. It's not really so serious at lower ranks, so long as you have a thick enough skin.

Still waiting for Ultra Street Fighter but bought Last Renmant and Old Blood in the meantime. Budget is running low so hopefully USFIV comes up in the next round of deals.

Reading the reviews on the steam page worries me. It sounds like the online play has broke over time, with great players insta slaying new players and using exploits

Most of the servers always have an admin on, so if anybody starts messing about they get kicked pretty quickly. It does have a learning curve though, and you will be beheaded by veterans a lot.

Shadow of Mordor is a boring game.

You know what isn't a boring game?

Lethal League.

It's great fun with friends at home or online (GGPO). It's an easy game to get into, but a tough one to master. It's got that WindJammers x Smash Bros x Jet Set Radio hype. The soundtrack is really good, and you can do this while jamming to it:

The game is great. It's up there with SpeedRunners as some of the most multiplayer fun you can find on Steam.

I want Far Cry 4 so badly.

But AC: Unity is finally patched enough to play through it on PC.

$10 of my budget is already gone so I can get those LEGO Harry Potter games my girlfriend wants to play with me.

Maybe I should give Evil Within another chance after the console version let me down...

Dead Rising 3 has been on my list since October of last year though!

Oh shit, SoM is on sale? 60fps on that would be beautiful.

Wolfenstein is $15? I have it on PS4 but a FOV increase could do wonders...

MGR:R always seemed built for 60fps though.

WHAT THE FUCK GABE

Not sure if these sales are garbage or I'm just disappointed because nothing on my wishlist is on sale yet.

I feel like the discounts aren't as good as in the past. Maybe it's because I've conditioned myself to not pay more that $10 per AAA game but, yeah. Not too happy with this sale.

Nice! I think most of the problems have been patched. I started a game before the patches rolled out, then played the PS4 version, now back to PC and whatever they did over the last 6+ months is a huge improvement. Do a google search for Flawless Widescreen and run it before you launch the game. It has a lot of toggles for FOV adjustment, etc.

I'm the only one curious about Gods Will Be Watching at that price? I know the hype for that deflated pretty much the day it released, but still...

Hmmm... Should I be tempted by Watch Dogs at that price, knowing how much I HATE Ubisoft?

Looks ok, but I dunno....
Of course not. It's going to be the same focus-tested, meandering garbage as all of their other games. Stop throwing your money at corporations!

Anyone have any opinions on Smallworld 2. I've seen the boardgame before and thought it looked interesting. I'm just curious if the pc game is worth getting for 2 bucks.

Adding Borderlands 2 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Plat to my buys.

fuck you Steam
thank you Steam

The game is super fun but I hate on principle that they don't offer 2-3-4 packs. Who am I supposed to play it with?

It's honestly not that bad. Better to try at it with friends first.

They're gonna make me wait until the last day for Dark Souls II, aren't they?

They're hoping you buy it and don't realize you can refund if it's cheaper later on, I bet.

PSA:

If you buy counter strike steer clear of it for a few weeks. Every time it goes of sale it gets infested with hackers and smurfs.

Guys is is possible to get a refund on a game I bought like a year ago but haven't played so I can repurchase it at this new sale price? What do I say to get that done?

Have yet to buy anything yet. I am on the fence about DreamFall Chapters, but I can see it going lower in the winter sale. I doubt I'll have time to play it between now and then anyway. I guess I have 24 hours to sit on it.
