Steam Summer Sale 2025: June 26th - July 10th

So is this game actually good or what.

Careful, if you say it is and it turns out it isn't I will remember.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. Just remember that it's not a big budget AAA souls like.

There used to be a demo of the entire first zone but the devs removed it due to being a bit outdated and, unfortunately, didn't release a new one.

Just nabbed Crash Trilogy. Hopefully some other good sales on the way.

Was going to get Borderlands 3 but then I read the reviews for the invasive DRM. No thanks Gearbox.

The dialog is 100% brainrot nonsense, they did you a favor with that DRM

Not very interesting this time mabey I buy only little nightmare 2 and black mesa. Is borderlands any good solo ?
I played through 3 for the first time a couple months ago, solo. Got it for free on Epic Games Store. It was fun.

Gotta love getting a busted OP weapon and melting baddies. Gotta hate the non-stop unfunny chatter. Of the hundreds of "jokes" they throw at you, a handful made me laugh.

For $5 or less, yeah, I'd go for it.

iirc, it had terrible stutter issues on PC. Unsure if that was ever fixed.
moving the game to a HDD fix it supposedly, or a slow SSD. The stutters is coming from loading too much data at once. Same thing for sekiro for me, if I run it from a nvme, it stutter whenever I enter a new area, but when I move my install back to a HDD no more stutter.

Forza Motorsport Premium Edition is calling me, despite being a gamepass sub. I feel like I hold back from really sinking my teeth into a game when I get it on gamepass. With Forza releases, I learned years ago to just pony up for the best one when you buy it. Always been worth it and always saved dough long term. $50 for a fuck load of content, and for my tastes it's the best arcade sim racer on the market right now. I'd love to buy GT7, but I can't quite get over all the 5:30 ring times in a road car on the leaderboards...

fug it I'm in. yolo

Steam Deck good enough for slow SSD?

Didn't they recast Claptrap? That's enough to get me to pass. I can replay BL2 every bunch of years, with all the DLC it's satisfying enough.

I think I'm good. All the deep discounts I own already, and the rest, I don't really want too much.

No deep discount, no buy. 75% or more.

Surprised to see a lot of the games in my wishlist discounted at 90%.

Don't think I'll be getting anything tho, got enough games as is.

Steam deck is nvme, it's would be too good in this case. BUT, loading from micro SD card might solves it. You need something faster than HDD to eliminate texture pop in, but slow enough to prevent the game from loading a big chunk of data all at once which is the cause of all the stutter to begin with. I think I read it from Reddit or somewhere people tested to load it from a microsd card reader and it fixes the problem.

Hmm. I'd be interested to load it off my micro SSD vs internal storage

Might get it just for that lol 😂

I'm aware fast PC's in the late 90's running late 80's games caused MASSIVE issues bc it was too fast. So yeah it's a thing

I just feel sad to see Sekiro is one of the affected games especially with Lyall fix which added 21:9 and uncapped framerate. What is the point of 120fps when the game stutter whenever you enter a new area.

Played that on my deck. Unsure of which storage it's on. But I can Tell you I've had a flawless experience

Not saying you haven't of course

I don't have a deck to test but good to know.
Can confirm it's on my micro SSD and it's flat lined as far as pacing and 60fps too. I'm not one to peddle with settings unless it's unplayable

Photo snapped from my phone. The screenshot omitted the graphic of the temps and fps

Some good deals here and there but honestly this is shaping up to be one of the weakest Steam sales in ages.

Meh. People say this every sale. No this isn't 2010 anymore sadly.

But some great buys for a lot of people who have held off from many games

Some other good deals, imo.

HL Alyx is kind of expensive but an all-time low for supposedly the best VR game. Might be time to test out my PSVR2.

In honor of pal Buggy Loop Buggy Loop who made that awesome 25th anniversary post

One of my favorites, Ninja Gaiden style gameplay

I haven't played this but the anime was top tier. Want to experience the original source material.

wtf isn't Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind ever on sale? It's mixed reviews and these folks won't discount it a penny. At best it's been 10% off.

Oh well. I'll wait longer. Looks fun. But not $35 fun

Usually I find stuff worth buying tbh.

This year the stuff I want is either discounted very lightly or not at all.

We were almost brothers but I think I'm going to bite on Stiens;Gate.
How have you never read Steins;Gate after a decade

The one on sale is the OG release, with the original artwork. It was remade with the art and fully animated using the animation from the anime as Steins;Gate Elite but some people still prefer the original art to this day. Either way you can't possibly go wrong for 3 bucks, it's one of the best sci-fi stories I've ever read and I've actually read Asimov, Herbert, Clarke, Gibson, etc.

Does anyone know what the price for steam deck is in Canada after taxes, ect. I'm not seeing any final price before hitting submit using PayPal. The price on the page shows as $689. Is this including taxes and fees or is this not including other fees?

Would be excluding tax. Tax depends which province. For example, Ontario is 13%.

But googling it, shipping is free if you buy it direct from steam store.

Resident Evil Village Gold and Re7 Gold are in a cheap ass bundle as well.

I keep wanting to buy Uncharted 4 as well but I just cannot believe they ported only 4 and not the rest. I want to play the first three with gyro aim so bad.

Thanks for testing, I vaguely remember the post about DS remake, the guy tested running the game off on micro SD via USB adapter, will load faster than mechanical HDD but slower than SATAIII SSD. Sekiro and DS remake have the same issues but the difference is Sekiro is made for last gen console, at worse 5400 rpm HDD, so using a 7200rpm drive + modern CPU will give it a boost regardless. Only problem if you don't have mechanical drive in your pc anymore
