Aw yiss! I was playing yesterday and had B- 91. Won one and was pumping my fists that I had finally crossed over to be. When I see I was B- 99 because the other team had some Cs. Thankfully I won the next one too.

2 of the team disconnected...back to 84. >_>

Wow, bummer to hear. I lost one match when I was 92 because one guy legit kept only painting the bottom of Saltspray for 4 minutes, even though it was already painted. Never fun cutting it close only to fall back,

I legitimately couldn't participate in this Splatfest because #TeamPancake would probably be the other side and that is one this or that I can never be on one side of.

Yeah, haha. Caramel-waffles are just a tad bit over Pancakes for me. If the prize was for actual food instead of sea-snails I really don't know what I'd do, though.

FWIW, the first gameplay footage in the Splatfest trailer is at 0:22, with a fly sequence over Bluefin Depot followed by Kelp Dome and Arowana Mall.

It only appears in 2 scenes and one of them is upsidedown, but here's the new skyscraper map:

The spawn pads are atop 2 skyscrapers or a construction site with narrow winding catwalks up to them. Most of the map is a walkway between the 2 buildings that you can't really see in these shots because it's so far below. This is the most vertical map yet.

Starting to think ninja squid really isn't that good. Echolocators are pretty common, it's not completely invisible, and a lot of its functionality can be replicated by just using simple line of sight tricks where you can hide or strafe around objects that obstruct any sight.

I think its still really good but I don't think its necessary. I used it for so long and then on a whim I decided to mess with 3x main ability Special Charge Up for fun (and its super fun)... I really expected to miss Ninja Squid a whole lot, I don't. I forgot how fast you swim without it and a lot of the time that is enough to get up on people.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Aerospray is overused, but still has shit range, so it's ok in my book. Can't even hate on rollers either, they make the game more fun in multiple ways...

Yuuup, you should try special duration as 1x main as well, assuming your special benefits from it. Even more fine imo

Yeah and during my hard time ranking today...I admit I had the best matches and comebacks from mine and the other team today.

I mean if I kept losing 100-0 or winning 0-100, the matches woulda left me annoyed, but there were like 5 times ina row were one team got to Sub-10 Points left and the other team made a comeback from Over-80.


I loved today so much, even if I am pissed off, hungry and sweating.

That last match I couldn't deal with that one guy going to the enemy base at the end. I just couldn't at all.

Gotcha, I've been using splat-o-matic too, but with 2x bomb throw and 1x special duration, is fuckin great

Not too hard to carry with it tbh, just use bomb rush like crazy, abuse the sub, and use dat fast swim speed for near instant close-up kills

It's all about not dying too much, it appears some people just love jumping into inkzooka or rushing into Kraken.
This game is going to be totally different in August when team matches start. I can imagine that now - bunch of main skill being co-ordinated, flanking, pushing, zoning out, falling back etc etc

I had a period of resisting ninja squid, but I've gone back to it with rollers- given my limited range, I need it to both get in position and flee. But I'm packing as much swim speed up as possible to counter the downside.
