Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Sunless Sea looks real interesting? Someone compared it to FTL and I FUCKING LOVE FTL.

So how is it?

It's amazing but it is on another level compared to FTL - The writing is incredible and really absorbing - but there is a ton of it, so if you hate reading, you may hate this. I love it, one of my favourite games at the moment. The main islands are static but the rest get randomised in location. Also the choices of your character creation and choices made through the game effect so many things from story to effects of the world, alliances, loot, characters etc

Plus, they update it frequently for free with more story or endings - which I haven't reached. Also prepare to die a fair bit - but your lineage can live on if you have friend or have a kid, so you can pass some belongings on each time and make a bit more progress.

One of the bulletpoints on the store page is "No weak shit"

Instabought

I picked this up because some of the impressions I was seeing was that it's like a fighting game as well.

I don't really see that but it's like a modern day fast paced super dodgeball. It seems really barebones so far but I played a couple online matches and no regrets. I only wish there were more characters but the ones they do have are really well designed. I highly recommend Lethal League to anybody curious about it.

I also picked up Age of Mythology because of nostalgia and I just couldn't resist.

In my cart now should buy or no buy

Pixel hero's $2.50
Outland $1.99
Castle crashers $1.50
Rock of ages $.99
Trine $1.50
$8.45 total

I don't know why I keep trying to look at user reviews for games I'm looking at. Every single one has pages and pages of shitty meme joke-reviews

-[Do in-game thing that sounds ridiculous out of context #1]

-[Do thing that kills me or otherwise indicate I suck at the game]
-"10/10, best game ever"

It's approaching reddit-meme level of not funny and downright annoying.

So this looks to be the lowest price on CS GO, since it falls under daily deals?

Yes, and even if it wasn't a daily that's the lowest it'll go. Again: Valve WILL NEVER lower the price past $7.50 now a days in order to combat hackers and alt accounts.

I fucking hate user reviews on Steam.

Cities Skyline is $20, should I buy? Save me GAF

Just bought that and Sunless Sea in the last 5 minutes or so. Struggling with a bit of buyers remorse right now, but man, I haven't played a city building game in ages, I think it will be worth it even if I only sink a dozen or so hours in.

Until its a flash sale for $5 lol

CS:GO hasn't been five dollars in nearly two years. Anyone that wanted it that low missed the boat when it didn't explode and have thousands of alt accounts being made everytime there's a sale.

Why would Valve lower the price past $7.50 when they get more cash from alts and hackers buying back into the game?

You can always buy it later on Nuuvem. Always been $18 on there.

You didn't miss a sale yet.

Nah. Not true. I got CS:GO last March for 3.75 CAD.

Well since I don't feel like bothering with Temple of Osiris this time, think I go back to double dipping again with Guardian of Light lol, cause that actually was the TR game I didn't end up finishing on PS3 for reasons I forget (not cause I hated it, I liked it. Well I got the game free there at least), and I get the feeling The Last Revelation is still going to pain me. I probably should just not bother with the old series in the end anymore.

GoL is more for me in terms of some sweet TR puzzle action. I might as well finish it this time.

Same predicament I'm in. Haven't played a game like this in like a decade, but all the positive comments I've heard about this game are swaying my judgement.

Never heard of this site. Is this legit or do I have to worry about my key being revoked?

I didn't know that it was that prevalent of an issue. Is hacking in this game worse than counter-strike source? I don't know why people bother with even hacking in these games.

Korra likely to go on sale with other Activision games, ya? Also, the encore sale will have all the deals from before right? I want to get The Evil Within season pass but I'll wait until the end to see if Pillars and Divinity go on sale for a price I like first.

waiting for Pillars as well
and Transistor,Ori,and Shantae
with hopefully enough left for ARR+Heavensward(which i dont think is getting a discount)and 1-2 extra months
id kill to be able to know whats coming before the sales happen

My buddy was watching me play the other night and noticed someone on my team was wallhacking.

I reported him and recommended the rest of the players to do so as well. I'm not sure how prevalent the problem is, but it does exist.

I can't believe Square missed the opportunity to put the Steam version of FFXI on sale during the anniversary.
I certainly would have given it a try, and I'm sure it would have been free advertising.

Edit: how is this thread moving this slowly?

A lot of hardcore/longtime city builder fans hate the built in unlock system but honestly I think it's a great tutorial like experience to get people used to how to put a city together without immediately overwhelming them. Stick with it IMO. Afterwards you'll probably turn it off or something and want to go off the rails.

So the damage so far:

Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (probably will regret even through it was only $1.53)
Tomb Raider 2013 Tomb of the Adventurer + Sure Shot outfit
Lara Croft: Guardian of Light

Waiting on: Ori and the Blind Forest

Oh the Tomb Raider fan in me (least CD fan :P) Eh thankfully these games (well beside The Last Revelation) probably won't take too long to do.

unless their franchise page doesnt include all the games their discounting
then yea ill have to pay full price for ARR+HW

So far:

Battlefield Bad Company 2
Castle Crashers
Valiant Hearts
Valkyria Chronicles
Metro Redux Bundle

Not too bad but was expecting somewhat deeper discounts on various titles.
