Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

I think most would call it stealing. It's the digital equivalent of buying a physical game, taking the disc out, re-shrinkwrapping the case, and returning it to the store.
...well, close enough

Come on man, that's not right.

Well, not that I care that much but refunding a game and still being able to enjoy it seems like a really close approximation.

ehhh i suppose you're right, fuck it. 7 bucks isn't much to begin with.

I really want Shadow of Mordor, but 25€ are just too much :(

Got fed up of waiting for Company of Heroes 2 to go on sale, picked up a steam key off ebay for £5. I doubt it would have been reduced to that price anyway. Also bought Prison Architect, so I have £12 left to spend from my £20 limit.

It's quite nice having a set limit. This time last year I had bought a lot more, most if not all of which I haven't touched since then.

Child of Light only has Casual and Expert as difficulties and I usually play medium. What do you guys recommend?

I played it on Normal at first and I never had any trouble with it, maybe felt too easy sometimes. I suppose you could start with Normal and then play Expert on NG+ if you liked it enough.

But as I said it does not have a normal difficulty. Only Casual and Expert.

IIRC I played it on the highest difficulty level and it only had one or two challenging boss fights.

OK I'll go with that.

Shit, really? Then I didn't even notice before, I picked the one left of Expert and logically assumed it would be Normal. In that case I'd say go with Expert, it's an easy game in general and Expert may give you a little more challenge.

C'mon someone must want to get in on the bargain of the Steam Summer Sale!!!!

Still spaces left folks ;)

Is Grey Goo worth it? I kinda wanna get Grey Goo.

Couldn't tell you. I bought it last night and every time I try to start it up, the game crashes. I've had to submit a support ticket with the developer as I have found no solutions. I will be fair and give them a chance to help me fix it before I refund the game.

Thanks to the new refund policy, the era of releasing broken, unplayable games and never fixing them without consequence is over.

w/e, it's been at that price since the beginning of sale so it's not like it's going to increase either =p

Sure. But it was a daily already and didn't drop in price. It's not going to go cheaper. Anyone that is interested needs to buy it now or never buy it because Valve has no intention of deep discounting it when the community says "NO" to that idea because of hackers and alt accounts.

But as I said it does not have a normal difficulty. Only Casual and Expert..
Iirc from its release casual was the normal and expert the hard mode before their renaming after complaints that normal was too easy.
But you can change the difficulty ingame so follow the general recommendation of "Expert" - when you get tired of the battles you can always change to "Casual" to get through battles faster.

Trivializing the combat is trivial, the problem is that it will still take a lot of time.

Of IF's currently available Steam stuff I'd much rather suggest getting the Neptunia games.
I know the Atelier-games have taught me that the package does not necasserily reflect the content, but going by the screens Neptunia seems to be even more guy-orientated by design than Agarest... ?

Skip it.

And eat your fingers when Activsion will remove it from the store next christmas.

Shit, I wasn't gonna get it, but I forgot about Activision's history with licensed games. Guess I'll jump on it while I still can.

Also, I'm hosting a Metal Slug X 2-pack. PM me if you want in. It'll be $1.62 via Paypal.

2. Delibes

EDIT: Metal Slug deal over

Any one know how the 3rd card drop is achieved?
The first is when you join a monster game.
The second is when you start a new game and beat Level 10.
The third is a mystery for me.

Ended up buying PES 2015 for $12 on Nuuvem. Just a heads up since it was 15 on steam

I'm still waiting for my Attila and Pillars sale :O :O :O

Do it.

I'm way too obsessed with this clicker game. Been part of the huge Reddit organization that currently has like 9 rooms set up. I'm in room #3 and we've made it to level 5854 so far. There's group chats on steam, a group page with announcements, and tons of people pushing out new scripts with crazy automation features. There's even talk of setting up special room only for the most active players. When Steam makes a community event, they really make a community event.

Huh, not necessary. During the sales of olden, months and months ago, we were witnesses of games appearing multiple times in different positions in the same sale. It was the most annoying miracle. And even if this should not be the case with Hotline Miami 2 in this sale, we still can pray to the judeo-christian god to send another son that get's involved with Valve and crucifies himself to let the game appear in the encore.

Encore yes. Repeats no, we didn't have any during the winter sale and I suspect we won't see any here.

If purchasing for yourself, you will not receive an extra copy of:

Out There Somewhere

Man, I wish they changed this. Pretty annoying.

edit - as much as I want Agarest 2 (only played the first one for about an hour), I'm just going to wait until winter sale or something lol.

Is Counter Strike: Global Offensive at the lowest price it is going to go? It's been £5.99 from the start but I'm pretty sure I saw it in a daily for the same price so I assume it won't drop further?

I just don't get the appeal with this.

It's a daily deal so it won't drop any lower.

The game itself isn't appealing at all, but trying to get to the highest level in 24 hours is. There was data found for a badge for getting to level 300,000. Currently, the highest room is at just under 10,000 and the game resets in 2 hours. People are trying to figure things out like maximizing usage of abilites, which enemies to target, which upgrades to invest in, when to nuke a boss vs. when to milk it for gold. It's pretty interesting in the strategy regard. Plus, at least in the case of our room, we've had a sweet steam chat open that's been pretty active, so most of us just chill and chat in there while our scripts run and we do something else. It doesn't require a whole lot of commitment.

Counter Strike smurfs? wut

Also I realized that I seem to get a card now if I play Monster Game for a while then restart the game to level 1.

Agarest, yay / nay?

Have been contemplating that as well today and arrived at nay. They are immense time sinks with questionable quality and from what I read, at least the port of Agarest 2 seems to suffer some bugs and technical difficulties that have never been ironed out.

Well, Neptunia isn't nearly as good a series as Atelier (but mind you, this is coming from a huge Gust fan), but it's still far more entertaining in my opinion than Agarest. Neptunia obviously has fanservice, but it's more fun and tongue-in-cheek than Agarest, which goes all out on the dating-sim-like "romance" aspect.

I think this is rather apt concerning Agarest:

The Agarest games would be better if the battles weren't such time sinks.
