Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

FWIW its fantastic. I finally finished it the other night and it was an unforgettable experience. GOTY 2014 hands down. As in the actual definition of GOTY and not some whoring buzzword.

It's not that I don't believe it's a good game, just that these sorts of "disempowered" horror games (ie, Amnesia) I often find to be really frustrating.

I'm faced with the tough decision.

Wait to just buy it at the full price later or get Panzer Corps eventually before the steam sale ends.

Just FYI, there was a recent release of Fantasy General on GoG, runnable on modern systems. Though very old, I still think it is one of the best of these type of strategy games.

That's really well done, awesome work dude. Bummer that FC4 didn't have the map editor, I had no idea they could get this in depth!

The thing is: Did anyone really play Far Cry 2/3's multiplayer? I honestly never heard anyone discussing them. I can't blame Ubisoft for killing the map editor if there is like... no one using it?

Not sure if I should get Alien Isolation. I've got a couple of games from the sale that idk if I'll even get to it.

Edit: Any chance Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will go on a deeper sale?

Strongly tempted to buy Far cry: Blood Dragon

Greatly enjoyed agarest 2 on ps 3. Not played Korra, but apparently it can get quite repetitive.

It's my only next gen regret. Awful game imo. :( I was so excited for it too. Navigating the overworld is clunky and confusing, the gameplay itself isn't that exciting and it feels very repetitive after a while.

I played Korra on PS4, haven't finished it but what I did play I really enjoyed. Be aware though, it's fucking hard. Like, really hard. She's a glass cannon and some of the boss fights are incredibly unforgiving to the point where it feels unfair.

Imo, for Korra, yes. The battle system is great, some bits are ridiculously over the top, and overall I enjoyed it. The level design isn't the best, story is pretty basic, and the lack of many characters makes it feel quite empty. But still, I'd say it's worth it.

Okay thanks, I'm close to clicking the buy button.

This really could be the first sale where I don't buy anything. Kind of thinking about getting the 2 Ripley Alien Isolation DLCs but I don't see myself reinstalling the game just for that.

I bought Insurgency a few weeks back when Humble Bundle had it on sale and its been a blast. If the idea of Counter Strike meets Red Orchestra sounds fun you should buy it today asap.

It seems like Civ 5's expansions never go on sale super cheap. As a casual Civ 5 player I wonder if its really worth grabbing up some of the map packs and Brave new world ($7.50 today) when I already have Gods and Kings.

hmmm..i'll try it.

it's warhammer stuff that makes me want armageddon.

Expansion isn't out yet, isn't it?

I'm probably one of the few that actually enjoyed playing Beyond Earth more than Civ 5 + Expansions. The Sci-fi element probably helps, but granted, I did it as a demo on Steam. Not as a $60 purchase. So maybe that skews me a little. I'd pay the $20 for it, but I'm wanting it to hit $15 in the Winter Sale before I think of picking it up.

That or EA allows SMAlpha Centari/Alien Crossfire to finally be on Steam. :/

You're right, it hasn't been released yet..think I just saw it was announced recently and the hope was that it would make it a more complete game by a lot of the comments in that thread.

It has it. It just doesn't include Multiplayer functionality. Only 2-player co-op. Trouble is, they led the multiplayer community on for MONTHS, not telling us that Multiplayer and the editor didn't work together.

And they didn't confirm it until AFTER the game launched.

Map packs aren't worth it, but Brave New World is a massive improvement for Civ V, and well worth that price.

I really wish I could even play Isolation. I've had it for a while and it crashes repeatedly. Nvidia drivers seem to be the issue; however, I've rolled back to about a dozen previous versions and nothing seems to fix it.

Getting bitter just thinking about the hours i've put into TRYING to play this game.

Don't buy the map packs unless you are an extreme Civ fan. Just buy BNW. Get the maps off the workshop and you're good to go.

Platinum won't see any of that money.

Lots of people buys Korra -> Sega sees people likes Platinum games on PC -> they comission Platinum to make Vanquish PC port -> Vanquish PC ports sells 1 mirrion copies on Steam -> We get Vanquish 2.

"Huge disappointment. I misread the game title and got really excited over nothing. Thanks a lot."

alright...is the evil within worth it or what folks. I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP HERE

Try the demo. It saves your progress from the first three "chapters" if you buy the full game later.

You enjoyed RE4? Then Evil Within is the natural evolution of the formula with an slightly less polished package, but how many games can compare favoraubly to one of the best action games ever?

So yeah, worth it.

Yeah, that seems plausible. It will probably happen around the same time we'll get a PC port of Dragon's Dogma.

Man that sucks. I've got an AMD card. Not sure if I'll be affected. Haven't bought the game though!

I loved the game. It was in my top 5 for the SteamGAF GOTY vote, actually. I think the price point is great, too. Go for it. Give in.

And for those who are iffy about Alien: Isolation... Do. Not. Hesitate. Purchase.

They really don't, it's why I picked up complete last sale rather than just the regular. Not worth it, though, unless you're planning on sinking that much time into it. I didn't go that much into the extras and still pulled 50+ hours out of the game. It didn't get exhausting without it. No real point if you're just a casual player, I'd say.

anyone know why a Castle In The Darkness Booster Pack would just pop into my inventory by itself ?

also should i grab fallout new vegas and transistor

Any chance Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will go on a deeper sale?

Keep waiting until the end of the sale, hopefully Rainbow Six franchise comes up in a flash or Monster milestone as that is where the more obscure games pop up.

Ubisoft seems to have an aversion on discounting some of their older titles such as Rainbow Six, Brothers in Arms, Beyond Good and Evil, and Prince of Persia on Steam. Maybe they are embarrassed with how far their game development has dropped in quality. I can only speculate.
