Giant Bomb @ E3 2015 | L.A. on Lockdown

New Vegas triumphed in creating a believable world where there was no black and white where every action you took and every quest you went on played into that. This presentation feels like "look at all the awesome crazy shit we're doing bros!" I don't think that's a bad approach, it's just not what I want from a Fallout game. In fact things like "look at all the sick settlements you can build!" actively take away from the strife of living in a post apocalyptic world.
Maybe the story is about building a future? We'll have to wait for that to be explained.

Just started the Bethesda conference talk-over. Damn, when did Brad clean up so much? I haven't watched much GB video content for a bit, but last time I saw him he was pretty shaggy. Looks like a different person now!

Yeah, agree with you there.

If you noticed, there was a 'yellow' option when he was talking to Codworth, which possibly could've opened up another tree of dialogue(He chose the 'Food?' option and ended the convo'.) It probably does have the various dialogue trees, just hidden this time.

I really don't like how dialogue is looking, that was one of my favorite parts of New Vegas and it looks so dumbed down this game. The final trailer thing almost exclusively showed off combat as if that's the only reason you'd want to play Fallout, I love going the charisma/pacifist route and talk my way out of the entire game.

Maybe that's just me though :(

I mean, even if this game should have that kind of story stuff this isn't the place to focus on it. The stuff they showed plays a lot better at a conference like this.

Like, I could have dealt with another Fallout game with Bethesda quality writing. I would have been the big dumb nerd complaining about it for years, but I would have dealt with it.

The dialogue system actually made me think, "I might not ever play this game."

As soon as I heard my character say "Let's go fuck shit up" I had the same exact thought.

I still don't understand how a major publisher could launch an app on just the Apple app store in 2015. Their facebook page is just filled with people asking for an Android version.

Bad Brad is for real.

Pretty much. Why did they go full Witcher? They couldn't even have sprung for a Human Revolution style one?

I feel kinda like this. It felt sorta like they added stuff to throw features in and we'll have to see if they manage to make any of it actually matter and gel with the game as a whole. Makes me a little nervous with this and the dialogue system.

Still, looks good enough. Will definitely play and probably love.

Jesus Jeff, an entire year repeating the exact same things about Mario Maker because some reps last E3 didn't know yet the answers to his questions. These things have been answered now!

Pick up that wrench, dawg, and aggro everyone in the town. Then bring it to me.

Thanks, daw-

The thing is, what they said about level sharing wasn't even that vague. The producer said something like "Well yeah, we know that level sharing is an essential part of the game but we won't say anything right now."

I think that watching Giantbomb during the conferences is one of my favorite parts of E3.

Also, Brad's haircut looks fantastic.
