There are tricks involved when countries calculate inflation. E. g. the inflation on the real estate market in the UK being 10-11% but them leaving out the whole segment in its calculation and then saying the countries’ inflation having been only 4%.

That’s why you can’t really say how much money today would be a certain value of back then for real.

Then there’s production cost reductions with technology improvements, that is people are not really getting the same loaf of bread they got back then, but a new version of the old bread, with much more inside (double the amount of transistors every two years).

And then finally, Nintendo is giving people the power of a PS4 of 2013 in 2025 for the same price it would cost today which people don’t want to buy anymore and everything is also only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
