Fallout 4 - Multiple E3 Gameplay Demos, Releasing November 10th, 2015

So...looking at the in game pip boy I don't see any section for skills, just SPECIAL and perks. Have they abandoned the skills for something else?

So uh maybe I missed it, or it's in a different section, but in the main 'status' section of the pipboy, there's 3 areas.

Status, S.P.E.C.I.A.L., and Perks.....

Is the skills section (such as the science requirement for crafting certain things) rolled into perks, now?

edit: Beat, lol.

It was prob just something he said off the top of his head, but is 13,000 lines of dialogue a lot? I wonder if there is any #s to compare that to, like GTA V or something.
This is just from a quick Google search, but it was almost 160,000 lines of dialogue for GTA V.

Also, I'm really not sure I understand people complaining about the dialogue system. We saw like two interactions, on a console, with very linear tutorial esque NPC's. We haven't seen what a real conversation in the game looks like that takes into account all your specific skills.

Any idea on price of Pip boy edition?

Should know soon. Dev just said on the Youtube channel, it would go up for pre-order as soon as possible (almost inferring, it could be now even, but it's on retailers to get it up). So I would check Amazon and other sites tonight or tomorrow.

I could say the same for people excited for the game. People are entitled to their opinions.

I agree. If everyone loved the game it would be the biggest selling game of all time. Never gonna happen.

I'm hyped, but I don't really need others to confirm what I know I'll enjoy. And nor do I care what detractors have to bring.

Thanks for doing that. Holy fuck, 160,000 lines? That's insane. To be fair, the Dev did just say that # off the top of his head. Who knows if that is really the right #. But I know a lot of people are really let down by them going with voiced dialogue, as it really limits dialogue options.

If it really is 13,000 lines (or around that ballpark), maybe this game will have very streamlined/dialogue options. =/

EDIT: I forgot that, GTA has a massive cast of characters. This game will focus on a single protagonist. So of course, we can't really tell much off that 13k number. I'm an idiot. Still, interesting nonetheless.

All aboard!

A hype train has already been made in another thread and tweeted by bethesda PR.

I think it's the fact that they're mapped to buttons, as opposed to a list which you scroll through. 4 buttons denotes 4 choices per question

Whenever you have fully voiced dialogue, it often means dialogue choices are cut down in overall scope (especially compared to Text based dialogue). Fallout games are known for their heavy dialogue system w/ branching choices. Once you go voiced, then you either have your actors record every branch of dialogue options (which isn't realistic), or you streamline the dialogue, and make it more simplistic (like how Mass Effect did, making Dialogue choices more generic emotion based choices, or GOOD or BAD).

We of course, have no way of knowing if that is the case here. People are just speculating, and worried. They are worried that Fallout's usual dialogue options won't return for this game, due to it being fully voiced.

I mean, that was specifically for the protagonist in the 13k case.

I'm relatively certain Michael, Trevor, and Franklin don't have anywhere near 160k.

Still a concern, but not 'as much', at least, yet.

Ah yes, thanks for putting that into proper perspective. That makes sense *smacks head*. I'll edit my post.
