Why are insanity and intelligence mutually exclusive?

I'm not buying this.

If it is true, though, I can't see how they plan to develop this remake in only around 2 years. I mean, we've seen footage from XV that was arguably far in development, and that game isn't releasing for at least another year.

I'd rather have a Final Fantasy game better than the PSX era.

Like an HD remaster of Final Fantasy XII.

Haha, I wouldn't mind that either as it was the last one I actually liked.

FF6 - 9 (With the exception of 8) created (to me, at least) a sense of adventure and wonder that has yet to be matched by any of the newer ff's.

I completely stopped reading Siliconera when they teased a "new SE game!" for weeks, and it turned out they knowingly hyped up a canceled project that never took off.

If they're on the money with this, I'll become a reader again.

I want to believe, as allways. But if you stop and think about how much time, resources and manpower it would take to make this then it looks pretty bleak.

FFVII: Grimdark Teenager's Dream Redux

If true, I honestly think I'm good. Cloud is a super dull character to me in all of his post VII appearances and if he's based on those then lmao. He'll be more brooding than Squall, except with no redeeming qualities! Wonderful

alright I just wanted to talk some shit. Of course I'll play a FFVII remake, but I don't have confidence in Square's art style decisions for this subfranchise, I'll just say that much.

I'm actually not kidding. Do you really think I would find it appropriate to do that? Lol come on.

Swear an oath to us then.

"I, [Insert Name] do solemnly swear that I am telling the whole truth, and understand the consequences of my actions if I am found to be a liar, so help me God"

I haven't felt this much hype for an E3 in a LONG time (My guess is 2006 or 2013, so not too long ago but still). And to top it off, the holy trinity mentioned in this thread doesn't even begin with the word metal gear..

I'm really hoping they deliver.

2-3 years of proper production is more than enough time

Indeed. Especially since FFXV and Luminous would be highly transferable in to a proposed FF7 remake.

So much could carry over, cutting out massive time.

When was the last time SE actually had their own presser at E3?

Never. They also have distant worlds at E3 for the first time. Kinda strange since FFXV isn't present....

And for pre-rendered FMVs they have all of the Advent Children and Crisis Core assets that can be re-purposed. 2 years is plenty of time for a good FF7 remake

Well for one, stop assuming that remake automatically means a remake that's equivalent to FFXV technical wise.

They could just update the character models and high res prerendered background along with new translation, some gameplay improvements and so on. Don't really need to rebuild the game from ground up.

I just don't see why they can't do a Resident Evil style re-make of this, it couldn't take that long I would think. It doesn't have to be fully 3D. Do it for all PS1 FFs!

But that wouldn't be a remake then, that's just a (good) remaster. You are right that the FF7 Remake (if it's happening) wouldn't necessarily be on the same technical level as FFXV, but it wouldn't be that far away either. It would probably look like the tech demo but more polished with better quality.

That would be the worst of both worlds. It'd take more time and effort (and money) than just porting the PC version to PS4 like they mentioned previously, but it would also disappoint so many that I doubt it'd do them any good.

They either need to remake it proper, or just leave it be. No half measures.

In the immortal words of Mike Ehrmantraut, no half measures.

Can't give my word on the crazy Shenmue rumours but the FF VII remake is a real thing. They started production a few months ago and it will be announced this week for a 2017 release.

The Last Guardian is coming back too, Sony PR guys are giving appointments to the press and they plan to release it during the holiday season since Uncharted 4 is delayed until 2016.

Poster has been verified.

Of course it'd take more effort, but FFVII with actual touch up to its graphics is going to sell like hot cakes regardless.

Basically do it like REmake.
