Dark Souls 3 announced (Early 2016, PC/PS4/XB1, Miyazaki Directing)

I'm playing DS2 again right now and honestly even though it's not quite the perfection of the other titles it's still an easy 9/10 game crushes all other action RPGs. I am really excited for part 3. Mood of the trailer was great! Hope to see more at the Sony booth.

for me it's a 4/10 because it was so dissapointing after demon's and dark 1.

and because I never really finished it, I have no interest in the sequel.
Miyazaki or not.

I'm already relieved that it's confirmed for the same "early 2016" timeframe. I can wait a few weeks.

I could wait a damn month if the port is as competent as the Souls 2 port.

hey guys miyazaki is directing so now you can suddenly be excited again and quit shitting up every thread about it
This... but can't wait for the endless posts:

-> How did he direct 2 games? Genius!
-> I'm worried because he split his attention between 2 games.
-> So, it's the B-Team doing the Bloodborne DLC?
-> Etc..

It's going to be amazing, can't wait to fight that Giant King =D

He did personally design all the areas in bloodborne though, so yeah, he's pretty involved. I guess he's just gonna switch over for the last 3/4 of a year to polish DS3 or something. No way he's worked on it while directing BB.

I know but still, people act like he does the game form itself. There's a lot of to program and stuff where he isn't required , time that he can focus on Dark 3.

Nice PC confirmed and mayybe without delay ;-)
BTW: Was there any texture changing tool for DS2 dx11??? (like GeDoSaTo for dx11 version)

CG trailer is pointless in my eyes, I just hope the game has better environmental/encounter design than DS2.

Rolls in Dark Souls have nothing on Evasion +2/3/Distance Up in Monster Hunter, if you want to talk OP.

You are right about that, for sure. But those skills take a lot of grinding and gameplay to get to at least. C:

How involved can Miyzaki have been considering BB just came out?
Anyway, interest level: increased.

Still not super hyped though.

I love Dark Souls II, I just wanted it to be a completely new place, with only lore references, you know? Like, they didn't pretend Lordran didn't exist in Dark II, on the contrary, but you don't fight Black Knioghts or go to Firelink Shrine, you know?

If they go with the new ending introduced in SOTFS it might make sense for Drangleic to reappear. The cycle didn't repeat itself, so things didn't change.

Miyazaki directing is certainly amazing news, not too happy about the DS2 story continuation but I guess it is a perfect chance for them to expand on it and make it deeper.

Praise the sun! Another Miyazaki masterpiece in the making.

That crowd didn't know what they were looking at.. -____-
They cheer their brains out for Fable Legends and Tomb Raider, but nothing for DkSIII.

Didn't read that part.
That's a bit of a bummer, I don't care at all for the DS2 lore.

A bit disappointing it was a CG trailer and nothing more. But more Dark Souls makes me happy, and early 2016 is sooo good to hear.

Miyazaki is directing.....praise the sun. Although I wonder how involved he really was considering BB just came out. Would like more info for sure.

Miyazaki directing? Shit, I will be picking this up DAY 90

Need to give it a few patches to neuter the glitchers and cheaters

I haven't even beat Bloodborne yet (or SOTFS which i bought day 1) but i'll be damned if i don't buy this on day 1 too!

I'll support From Software/Miyazaki as much as i can.

I'm not asking for a new cycle, on the contrary, it's one of the main reasons Dark II's story was disappointing to me.

I wish it was connected but in an entirely different place.

Like, say, to wherever Gwynevere went. Or maybe in Carim? Whatever, just a completely different place.

EDIT: DAMN THOSE SCREENSHOTS ARE AWESOM<E!!!

show some gameplay from plsssss

?
think you confusing me with someone else. :D

only beat dark souls 2 once without all optinal bosses and never bought the dlcs.

they should have made a new "franchise" like bloodborne.

even if dark souls 3 ends being a great game, because I never really finished part 2, I won't play it.

My mistake :D

It's good news to haer Miyazaki is directing. Level design, lore, and gameplay should be top notch.

To be fair it hasn't been confirmed in any way, nor do I think it will until the actual game is out, but just looking at the giant in the trailer plus the castle that very closely resembles Drangleic castle is where I got that impression.

Plus DS2's story is pretty much a set up for a sequel.

Do we have an actual source for Miyazaki directing it? Patrick on Kotaku so far just has Bamco saying he's involved, which could mean anything.
