Metal Gear Solid V E3 2015 Trailer

Snake being naturally blonde is just stupid, that's arguing on a boat that is already half submerged, his entire character is him being the one who mirrored Big Boss the closest though everything but making different decisions.

The real question is why are there two Liquids? Why would they need two of him?

The only thing I can think is they needed a double for some reason, maybe they purposely dressed Snake up as another liquid to protect Liquid? Which then makes me wonder why Snake would never remember being around all this.

Snake had an entirely different upbringing to Liquid, only Liquid was in Afghanistan.

Blonds usually change their hair when growing up to a more brownish color. It isn't out of possibility that Snake is/was blonde.

You Hayter people are sad. I feel sad for you. Let it go.

You'll feel so much better if you let Sutherland into your hearts.

That would actually be so badass from a storytelling perspective... A delusional Big Boss that creates an alter-ego to justify some of his worse deeds.

The most shocking thing would be that Big Boss isn't this iconic, end-all soldier everyone should aspire to be. He's just a person who's suffered, and now has a mental illness that forces him to separate himself from the atrocities he commits.

The backwards XOF logo solidifies some things.

That's a good plot to you?

Better than nanomachines, AI that wants to censor the net and singing robots in the 70s... So yes, having a mentally scared madman that develops an alter-ego to crash his own Mother Bases and to perform morally depraved acts would be pretty cool.

It could also be that Kojima is fucking with us. Or it could be Solidus. (...though it doesn't make sense that much).

Still, I'm holding out that we see Solid in the game, being the last game with Kojima and all.

I think that other kid was Solidus, not Solid Snake.

I'm only really basing this on how I believe before MGS1, Solid and Liquid had never met.

wanna see Solid Snake in the end of the game, in a flashforward, in mission in Outer Heaven to kill Big Boss. It would be epic and close the circle.

Another potential theory that i've been thinking after BB mentions the Les enfant terrible quote at the end of the trailer. Maybe he wants to acquire this project (Liquid and Solid) without really knowing what it consists of (also Kaz is hiding it from BB that he's well aware of this), plus we all know that Solid eventually joins BB/Kaz and perhaps Liquid goes rouge to become his own man?

The last part there. Didn't that happen in IV? If I remember, I haven't finished it, didn't Liquids persona
kinda take over and made sure to fuck with Solid, first on their side then not?

holy shit...skullface
being the thing that haunts and finally turns Big Boss makes too much sense. BB could kill him easily, he owes him, and that's a lot more likely than them suddenly finding themselves on the same side. But what if he killed him, and that wasn't enough? I mean we saw how Psycho Mantis lived on, we see how Revolver was compromised through the sunbconscious split personality of someone else. I'm thinking the ghost memory of Skullface's philosophy is what haunts a traumatized and beaten down warrior to his end, his idea, his memetic imprint infects Snake and ultimately corrupts him.

I mean the lone ranger mask is just too much.

I was just pointing out where people are hearing it.

thanks, that wan't necessarily directed towards you.

But are you guys serious ? it's the exact same actor voicing the rest. Man, MG fans will never learn. #teamcg all over again.

Solidus makes even less sense than Solid.

He never had a whole lot to do with the brothers or Big Boss, he was also engineered as an exact copy of Big Boss.

Why does the song in the trailer sound like something from a Once Upon a Time in the West parody made in the 80s? It's juuust different enough from Man with a Harmonica that nobody is going to get sued.

Interesting that language is a big theme, what with all the literary references. Plus, two of the characters being related to language (Code Talker and Quiet).

On a side note, Zero's VA sounds a little bit like Bowie.

Wut?

This is explained on MGS (PSX), Solid cuts and dyes his hair.
+10

yeah wow, nice post. yeah exact same model, clothes, hair style - you could have thought about it for 2 seconds before posting something obtuse.

sorry i mean

#SOLIDSNAKERETURNS
#BRINGBACKHAYTER

I think the first one has a scar under his right eye and the second one doesn't.

So I doubt they are the same person.

Fucking amazing. The music was perfect. Didn't show too much but still satisfied.

On a side note, i love Hayter and hopefully he is in the game somehow. But you guys are fucking nuts. There isn't a hint of Hayter in that trailer.

When skull face vanishes as big boss turns, im now convinced skull face is an alter ego BB has conjured and only he talks/addresses to. Think bruce willis 'ghost' to haley osments character in sixth sense.

I havent played ground zeroes so im not sure if that charcater physcially interacts with others.

Didn't Shinkawa say that both Solid and Liquid actually have dark hair, Liquid's was just bleached from the sun from a previous mission or something like that?

I'm on the 'real but does' side of things. He's indisputably real in GZ. According to previews, Big Boss' head injuries cause him to hallucinate, so imagine that Skullface at that point is dead and Big Boss is seeing him.

The word virus...Language as a means of controlling the masses...This really is the successor to MGS2 I've been waiting for, isn't it? Too bad the story is likely to be mostly told through prerecorded audio cassettes, instead of directed cut scenes and dialogue as it's happening in the game.

But anyway, that was the best trailer I've seen for the game and mostly because of the great choice in music this time. I'm glad I can watch it again without having turn the volume down, lol.

Ah, MGS is really almost over. So bittersweet.

Liquid's hair got bleached by the sun from living in Afghanistan.

Forgive me but who is this@ 2.24? Eli?

Looks a lot like Paz, but if there is a time skip then a teenage Eli is also possible, although, personally, I think the face is too feminine for that to be the case.

YESSSS. beautiful music from new order, great editing. kojima knows how to cut some dope trailers for sure

as usual the writing is a load of shit, my brain checked out after like 10 seconds into the monologue but man it's a good trailer. hyped.
