Horizon: Zero Dawn | PS4 Exclusive | Screenshots

Except gameplay has never really been GG's problem. Obviously there were mixed reactions around KZ2, but KZ3 and Shadow Fall were both excellent to play.
Killzone 2 burned me so much, i never played a Killzone again. Shadow Fall sounded slightly above average from reviews and people talking about it. So i stay sceptical.

This game is like a crossover between Heavenly Sword and Enslaved with a little dose of Witcher 3, Lord of the Rings and that dinosaur mech cartoon from the 80s. It's like a fusion of so many styles and yet manages to hold on its own. To think I was starting to lose hope with GG...

Looks great, even though this alone doesn't really mean that much to me.
Really curious to see how this concept develops throughout the game.

Those gifs.

I couldn't believe it when it transitioned to gameplay.

I could, because (while still looking amazing) the general visuals were toned the fuck down.

Guerrilla Games is fantastic at coding, but it's even better at understanding the importance of a good artistic direction. Nearly any other studio in the world could use their engines and come up with much less impressive looking games because of it.

It kind of angers me that nobody has managed to replicate (or at least understand) the impressibly cohesive look of their games.

Thought it looked fantastic. Definitely an RPG with GG's signature on it. But if they can lessen the dialogue on the MC where she isn't narrating every bit of action I take, they'll only make it better.

Almost everyone agrees on that point, and I'm sure that the message will get through to GG.

Amazing. This game is just flat out beautiful.

I didn't really appreciate how great looking it was initially because of the quality of my stream, but I downloaded the 1080p version of the trailer a bit ago and... it looks absolutely ridiculous.

Shit is open fucking world too man.... wat

So farr the most interesting new (AAA) IP announced. Set aside the stunning scenery shown in the trailer (I wanna hike those mountains!) I hope we get to explore tons of derelict overgrown ruins too. Imagine making your way through the remnants of an old traffic tunnel or subway and see those eyes glow in the dark.. Fuck man, this has some straight-up horror potential.

The game that got me the most hyped for !
Game of the conf for my part ! DA on mecha is stellar, universe is credible, Heroin is charismatic and not another AAA random cliché, and the story seems quite interesting for the few we have seen !
It smells good, very good !

Almost forgot from the old thread about if they'd show this:

Trifecta (FF VIIr / TLG / She3) played on my feelings.

Yet Horizon took my best interest - monster hunter - like game + open world + AAA graphics + great studio behind - YES i finally can play Mh-like game next-gen, instead of rehashed PSP versions over and over (dont get me wrong - i love MH got 5 version but im a bit tired of this rehash over and over and over, 20% new content, 80% same old PSP 3rd).

This is the game I wait the most now - 4 player coop hunting - here I come!

Really, really interested in this game. It might be because I'm in between Witcher 3 and and ranger run in Dragon's Dogma. So far every thing I've seen tickles my fancy.

And some 3rd party developers said they already maxed out PS4...and some PC gaming community said we never reach this kind of graphic quality on PS4...only Sony 1st party studio can prove their opinions are bullshit...we still on a 2nd year of PS4's life...those Sony 1st party studio still can do much more with that console...

Really this game makes me so happy.

I so wanted hunting game next-gen AAA - and here I have - delivered by Guerilla! And great setting also.

This E3 2015 is awesome.

Yeah this game is pure insanity.
Sony was just bomb after bomb after bomb.

I just wish it had character creation, but alas.
At least the main character looks cool, and it's not some Kratos shit.

Also, another nitpicky thing: I hope she won't talk that much in the game; you don't have to actually verbally describe every single thing i do, thanks.

I've never understood this complaint... Its a natural thing to do. I always feel like its adds character depth and gives me a window into what the character is thinking. I liked it in Uncharted, and I like it in Tomb Raider as well. Both games I've recently heard "criticized" over this complaint. I guess different strokes for different folks

I hated how chatty she was, I hope that's just a demo/E3 thing because that's too much if she's always like that.

It's the way that it was either done or handled. Drake is a very witty guy that rambles when he is nervous.

Others seems to ramble for the sake of it.

This was the game of the show for me after the Shenmue announcement. Great premise, great art style, and the combat looks really fun and interesting. Reminded me of Monster Hunter, and I hope it has the depth of the monster hunter series.

Yup. Talked far too much. Seems to be a terrible trend of talking characters lately.

The only game that does it right is Uncharted.

Do we know what kind of game it is or... just screenshots?

Open World + Hunting proably 4 player coop - dreamed hunter game :) [lets say modern MOnster HUnter mixed with Open World]

old screens when 3 players attack (its conceptional inengine shot):

at least I hope it is that kind of game :)

While visually very impressive it didn't appeal to me at all. Can't deal with the dull machines. They've taken over the world, devastated mankind, but stomping around like dumb-ass dinosaurs?

The gameplay in Shadow Fall is excellent - it's a strong FPS with a nice layer of tactical gameplay (mainly because of a drone companion called the OWL), the controls are great, enemy AI is good, combat is fun and it has a really good sense of character and placement. Guerrilla's main failing (ignoring the original Killzone which was all around mediocre) has typically been in level design, and from the footage and screenshots the world of Horizon is already looking pretty impressive.

I think its funny you assume we've seen all enemy types and also assume there is no chance of a hierarchy in these "dumb-ass dinosaurs"

Lol. We know almost nothing about the context of this game, what caused the apocalypse or how the robots originated, and you're already writing the game off based on not knowing this information?!

Nah. Killzone is a chore. There's a good base in the gunplay, but there was never any really interesting application of this aside from the first open area that just serves as a cocktease for the rest of the game. There's no real sense of progression in terms of mechanics and it felt like they simply ran out of good ideas in the gameplay department really quickly. Tactical? That's seriously, seriously stretching it unless you've played nothing but typical AAA shooters your whole life.

They did do a good job with the world design, though. Which bodes well for a developer tackling a large-scale RPG.

As long as this game plays very similar to Mass Effect 2, count me in.

That is the type of RPG they should aim for. I was never a fan of the likes of Fallout and endless and pointless quests (e.g. Witcher 2).

Im pretty sure they just did it for the sake of presentation - u can even clearly see in few moments when voice actress talk but character on screen do not even move lips (she do not move it at all).

This was more than graphics. They also showed good looking gameplay in a big, unique world with what looks to be a unique premise.

Well, i understand that it made you "feel" things, but the vast majority here is talking about THE LOOKS. It is eye-candy and that's a fact. Guerrilla must acompany it with a good storyline and a not repetitive gameplay and we're good.
