October for Yoshi when it's out in Europe next week is a slap in the face. I don't care about the fucking amiibo availability Nintendo. Just release the fucking obviously finished game. There's nothing coming out on the Wii U between now and then anyway. Dripping out Splatoon content one weapon at a time doesn't count.
I think the games they showed were nice. I want to know more about them. As a presentation overall though I feel this was a very bad year. The time they spent on some things was bad. Limiting things to just early 2016 was bad. It honestly makes me think that this is the last full year for the Wii U and that NX, whatever it might be, replaces it in 2016 with Zelda being a launch game.
Damn Xenoblade X in December was so disappointing. And that new metroid game alright hahaha
No way they'd show Retro's game this soon anyway, not without a CG trailer, and Nintendo doesnt do those.
Overall not my favorite. Thing is... Majority of the games they showed were great, but majority of the games they showed we've already scene or we already knew about them. You don't spend that much time on yoshis wooly world when we know pretty much all there is to know about already.
Then you take the fact that most games were old and add on the fact that most new games weren't cool and you have a bad time. Animal crossing wii u being a board game is thoroughly disappointing. Not seeing a mario rpg on wii u is disappointing.
Basically... Nothing was actually bad. Everything was just not what anyone wanted.
Should've saved the Smash and Earthbound Beginnings stuff for the Digital Event. I'm wondering if they realised that it was going to be lacklustre and that's why the got those announcements out early.
If it's not incredibly clear that Nintendo is all in on the NX, I don't know what to say to you GAF other than you are fucking blind.
They said they were mostly showing games coming out this year, but wow. THAT'S IT?!
It is SO obvious that Zelda and any other big games they have are moved to the next system. It's incredibly clear. Jesus Christ what a poor showing.
No, not at all. Nintendo announced two games I'm excited about with the new Metroid and the new Mario Luigi/Paper Mario game. That's two more than Microsoft and EA announced and one more than Ubisoft (they had South Park).
Are people actually surprised? Nintendo is creatively bankrupt and has been for a while. They've put out some good and even great stuff on occasion recently but the majority of what they do is exactly this.
Listening to them say shit like "we don't just rest on our laurels" or whatever they said was just laughable, that's exactly what they do.
Star Fox Zero looks nice, as does Fire Emblem for the 3DS and Wii U. Super Mario Maker will be amazing too, but we've already seen a lot of it. Other than that...
Ugh. This really felt like a waste of time to me, and I wasn't all that hyped to begin with. The Amiibo stuff just doesn't interest me either.
The complaints at the beginning about Star Fox and Zelda were overblown, but over half the conference was spent on games we already know about. Then that ending.
Geez, the 2014 event was incredible how did they go so far in reverse?
On a plus side, my kids are 5 and 1 and I live in the UK so the cost of childcare is crippling financially. At least Nintendo hasnt added to that burden.
