Sony E3 Conference 2015

What do you want from Sony's E3?

I agree. Personally, I like E3 to be forward looking. I like to get that glimpse of the future. I think MS had a very solid conference, very good overall. But Sony's conference has some gigaton announcements and I don't feel like the MS conference really had any.

Well, backwards compatibility is pretty darn big. And they do have a solid exclusive line-up for this year that I am more than happy with. But E3 is really all about announcements and that is where Sony absolutely blew the roof off.

I'm with you until Uncharted. It has evolved in so many ways and the demo did an excellent job showing how much better the combat has become oh and it's also insane looking

How could anyone not be impressed by that demo. What they showed is a huge improvement over past games.

Not that it makes much difference, but what was shown was likely the intro of the game proper, in-engine and playable (once it switches to first-person).

If that was the intro it was dumb of them to show it.

Imo a minor overlooked highlight was, during the COD segment, when Mr. House specifically said: "today marks the start of a new era".

The subtext sends a subtle yet strong message about Sony's stance.

Now instead of before every conference saying, " hahaha Shenmue is dead, you guys are dumb " or " hahaha you really think SE could remake FFVII? Dumb " or " hahah, TLG is dead folks ". Now we get to say, " what will we see from Shenmue 3 this TGS? " and " will we see the FFVII combat system? " and " what new section of TLG will we see this conference? "

Exciting time. These games now exist. Are real and are being made. Cannot wait to see them all again.

Imagine a TGS with FFXV, Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Shenmue 3, Persona 5, Dragons Quest Heroes 2, Level 5 JRPG, and The Last Guardian sometime in the near future.

I mean come on.

Still waiting on Galak-Z and Starbound, both absent.

It is highly likely both games are on the show floor. Actually I think Sony already confirmed they are both on the show floor and playable.

E3 isn't over at the conference. We have days worth of new gameplay footage coming and impressions and interviews and shit like that.

Has there been any news on the Uncharted Collection? Hoping Sony isn't gonna go dark on this until a week before launch like they did with TLoU:R.

Bethesda premedited what was coming with all the fallout and shelter/vault talk.

Thanks for tuning in & I'm glad some of you enjoyed the show ;)

Hands down the best constructor conference I've ever witnessed.

You guys managed to break servers and make grown men cry.

It certainly would have been if it wasn't happening in such a compromised form. If their handling of OG Xbox emulation on 360 is any indicator, then chances are they'll never get around to making even half the 360's library compatible with Xbox One.

The number of games compatible as of right now though is just terrible.

This conference was surreal. Still can't believe they announced THREE games that were practically myths.

Announcements like these are so rare. This was a pretty special conference.

I was watching this live on my ipad last night, when bombs began to drop. I am still processing, things are just beginning to sink in.

They told us (Shenmue, FF7 Remake, TLG) was done, that it would never happen and laughed like it pleased them to see the hopes of others dashed. They were wrong.

Backwards compatibility, while nice to have, is something I think most people (outside of gaf) utilize very sparsely. To us it's great, it's our hobby, we invest heavily into games, but a large section of people that play CoD or Madden and thats it only care about the new one and not the older stuff.

The other big thing, and I would have given Microsoft bigger credit for, was if this was actual backwards compatibility with a system update. As it stands, it will be only if a publisher wants their game to be BC, only when Microsoft gets around to it with updates and then you have to download it instead of it getting emulater/read from the disc and just played. I'm sure first party games will make the BC list quickly, but there will be a lot of publishers that just won't want their games to be BC if they can still get people to pay for definitive edition ports.

Time for these sour-ass motherfuckers to retire. There's just no pleasing them since they always just seek out something negative. Sony could have ended the show with HL3 and GTA6 and they still would have complained about something.

If you're this salty that grown men aren't LOOOSING THEIR MINDS maybe just don't go to their website. All the time people bitch and moan that Giant Bomb is jaded to this shit, but this is nothing new.

i dont give a shit about FF7 either tbh

Guess I'm the only one that thought the 3rd party stuff was well done. I mean I guess its "cool" to rag on cod or destiny now? Besides AC being pointless, all the Fall shooters looked like great fun.

That's cool, millions do though. Lol I feel like Sony conference is gaining so much coverage and hype people feel compelled to express there dissatisfaction of it. Lol not every game is going to be to your liking. Honestly anyone not giving this e3 high praise is just being dismissive. I have no interest in 95% of what MS is doing, but I can appreciate when a company does a good job. Ppl truly revel in negativity.

Same here. I like to see something we haven't seen before, instead of getting material about the games we already know about.

Plus they car was being driven, not on rails, which may not be obvious in the video. That is a huge upgrade from last gen.

I was under the impression that the car was always going forward as if you can brake but you can't stop it and make a u-turn for example. Do you mean that would be possible ?

As you said it isn't obvious in the video. The car hardly ever slows down while it's being chased by the truck, even when it hits a wall like here

I took it as the start of the exclusive mission scarecrow nightmares for PS4.Its focus was heavy on scarecrow, and after the footage cut away the screen was highlighting the exclusive mission and not just the arkham night logo.

I doubt it as the exclusive content looks to be a series of challenge maps centered on the Batmobile. Something like that wouldn't get a scene about the general set up for the entire game's plot (the cremation, the start of the fear toxin attacks, etc.).

If that was the intro it was dumb of them to show it.

I agree. It did catch my attention, but it had nothing to do with the Playstation exclusive content.

Gosh.....SFV is so beautiful in motion. I can't wait for it. I'll have to buy a gamepad for it. I just hope Akuma is in the game.

Let me see if I got this straight. Giant Bomb guys didn't run around like their hair was on fire or pee themeselves over Sony's conference, and they suck! They didn't say Sony's 2015 E3 conference was the best conference ever, there will never be a greater E3 show, and they suck.

GAF.

There's no doubt.

Sony had the weakest E3. TLG FINALLY! HOLY SHIT. Gameplay was weak. No Mans Sky looks amazing.

Sony
5/10
Nintendo
5/10
Microsoft
7/10

I wanted to say this yesterday with all the hype going around. I'm really glad that Sony continues to fund anything Media Molecule does. Their next game probably won't set the charts on fire, but I'm really glad it's happening. It's not really a game I'm into at all, but I'm glad games like these exist. Will buy it just to support MM.

Yup, my guess is that the cop [played by you], thanks to Scarecrow, just shot up a diner full of innocent patrons. Sort of like No Russian, but 'under the influence', just to put you in the mindset of the game.

Note -- this is pure speculation.

Sigh. The "PS4 has no games" thing won't go away, and it's still bullshit.

July:
GOW3 Remastered

August:
Until Dawn
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
Volume

September:
Tearaway Unfolded
SOMA

October:
Uncharted Collection
Tales of Zestiria
Dragon Quest Heroes

Others likely for 2015 but not confirmed include Persona 5, Bloodborne DLC, Rime, Shadow of the Beast, The Tomorrow Children and probably others.

I'm not gonna get any of those except for Uncharted Collection and my PS4 will still be running most of the time with multiplats coming this year.

I still can't believe we got TLG, FF7 remake, and Shemue 3 all on the same night within the span of two hours.

If you told any random gamer that last week they would never believe you.
