PlayStation E3 Experience 2015 Announced (Theaters)

Union Square NYC was the best. FFVII remake, I was flipping out going "NOT! INTERESTED! NOT! INTERESTED!" like a madman because that was the first FFVII line that came to mind for me.

Recorded a post-show podcast with fellow GAFers, will post it tomorrow afternoon after I have gotten rest.

Edit: Ah crap, first post of page 27. >_>

Unions square 14 NYC was good ! That drunk guy walking down the lisle talking s$&@ during the showing of TLG messed it up for me but everything was good! Wish the swag was better but it was good.

LMAO! That was hilarious. I was laughing at DoktorEvil and Matts Legacy reacting to it all. Was it you who shouted "I'm going to check GAF" after a certain point in the back?

I recorded the crowd's reaction to The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and I want to say Horizon. I'll try to upload them before I go to sleep if not tomorrow. People semi-flipped their shit at The Last Guardian but completely went ape shit when Final Fantasy VII Remake appeared before they went dead silent for Shenmue III since it came out of the blue with a cheer here and there.

I absolutely had fun and would do it again even though I was cynical throughout most of it by virtue of not having played any of Sony's franchises from last gen as well not owning a current gen console. A GAF member who's a Nintendo fan recognized my GAF shirt in the subway as I got off 14th street so if he's out out there lurking, I say hello and forgot to ask for your GAF name.

Shout out to TakeruShinoguKoeru who recorded his podcast discussing our thoughts, the aforementioned DoktorEvil and Matts Legacy as well Shadow85 and MoonGazing. It was so much fun to do that

I didn't realize how much people miss and appreciate the NYC GAF meet ups until I went down there and felt like a pseudo-celebrity. It means a lot to me. DoktorEvil is taking up the mantle while I take a break from organizing them for a while and do some "soul searching" so to speak. However, I am definitely going to reboot the NYC thread and make a new so look out for it in the Off-Topic in a few days.

A general question to everyone: Did the Uncharted 4 game play stop, then restarted again? It was kind of awkward but when it restarted, the crowd cheered.

"Madness", the best words to describe the reveal here. Half the crowd questioned their sanity and the other half staired with mouths gaping wide, as the numbers "2016" flashed our eyes. It was as if we had seen the corpse of a long decayed body brought back to life right in front of our eyes. That was it, The Last Guardian was real, or at least as real as Final Fantasy XV and that FFVII port we were getting...

Then came Adam Boyes. As smug as Jack Tretton two years before him. Talking up Destiny, nothing unusual or out of the ordinary. Little did we know that he had enough nukes to bring the gaming world to its knees.

Some talk about feedback, and fans... yadayada. It's pretty much a mantra of Sony and MS at this point, then FFVII. This one took awhile before the gravity of what was really on screen took effect. I can only chalk this delayed reaction to the countless times Square had successfully trolled fans on this very stage. Everyone in the the audience held their breathe. Had it not been for the trailer you could have heard a pin drop. Then one of the most iconic blades ever glanced the stage. The buster blade; in graphics rivaling that of FFXV. The word "REMAKE" then hysteria ensues. I think a guy in the front row started crying. You know what, I don't blame him.

Words can not describe what happened next. Adam trudged through the Devolver Digital segment, quickly tempering our hype levels with 8-bit game after 8-bit game. And out of nowhere Adam Steps back, the room go dark and cherry blossoms quickly fill the screen. The classic music from Shenmue cuts through the silence; then there was only roars. Shouts of "It's happening" and "We did it" lasted almost until the Batman section and only interupted by people pulling out phones to pledge.

These three were truly some of the best reactions to any game I've ever witnessed. Sony sure knows how to push the Nostalgia buttons with their fans. Who knows maybe next E3 they bring out Crash Bandicoot and Spyro The Dragon and take us through this emotional rollercoaster all over again.

Hawaii Gaf were you there? I totally forgot to shout out to you. I was the lone MVP helping with the kind and swag and getting pics of you all. Hope you had fun.

Theater in Honolulu was only about 75 seats filled.

Dude me and my brother went. That was you taking pictures of people? I thought that was an event worker. Theater had a lot of people yet not many people made noise.

The quality of the Hawaii screening was great with the only hiccup occurring at the beginning of Geof's postshow but it was quickly fixed. I hope this event returns next year.

Oh man, SO awesome reading this. An event for the ages.
Seriously! Congrats man :)

Best thing in Nashville was the "comedian" in the back making fun at perfect times. Especially during Disney Infinity, he was nailing it. "Hooray Tum-Tums!" and so on. He matched the enthusiasm of the guy on screen and surpassed it.

And the FF7 and Shenmue announcements really silenced the crowd. It was uncanny how we all held our breath during FF7 to see if it's a troll or what.

haha yeah the nashville one was pretty good, nice quick witty remarks from people. dont remember anyone being overtly loud or rude but man was there a lot of groaning during the Disney Infinity part and i was one of them.

For some reason, the Wisconsin location didn't receive their shipment of lanyards, posters and stickers. So now I'll have to get the code in an email instead of having a cool No Man's Sky-themed lanyard to wear around town. And to work.

But... The popcorn was delicious.

So I just entered the code on the web site and I got an email with a charge of 50$. lol

Talk about really crazy timing. As I entered the code in last night after the conference I literally got an email with a charge of 50$ for ps+ one year moments later. I thought it was the code that caused the error and random charge. Actually my ps+ auto renewed as my subscription ran out 6/15.

Anyway I was in the Midlothain VA area and the theater got pretty excited for FF7, Last Guardian, and Shenmue. I can't exactly remember how loud it got because I was going nuts as well. lol It was a lot of fun to be around the excitement for those announcements.

The only complaint I have is that, just like last year, the Atlanta theater made us line up outside, and everyone waited from whenever they got there to about 8:00 to start processing tickets/handing out lanyards. Normally this would be OK, but it was about 95 degrees yesterday, and by the time everyone got in, everyone was a mess.

I had a blast with you all! Everyone there together with those Megaton announcements is something ill never forget lol. I had fun talking on the podcast and just going over the entire night. I hope we can do this again next year! E3 HYPE TRAIN! And yes the Uncharted demo messed up looked like the controller messed up. That second time people went nuts when it started working again XD

that's the theater near me, wish I hadn't missed the sign up for this

Seriously memorable and amazing evening. I loved our crowd's energy. Everyone was loud, but still basically respectful, lol. We were all just exhausted from the hat trick. So much fun.

Yup, the atmosphere was great. Let's see how Sony tops E3 next year!

was the SF theatre full this year?
Yeah! Well except for the very front. Even though a huge line was still outside, they didn't let people sit at the very front.

I'm mad I didn't film some of the reactions but I was so sucked into the event with everyone. Our theater was gasping, cheering, screaming, etc. It was a lot of fun and a LOT of crazy energy. The only downer was the awful GameTrailers style post show. Took some pictures before it started, though:

(yes, I was totally feelin that "coma dose" during the show, lol)

Vancouver, was the theatre full?

Did I regret not going on the waitlist?
Full, with waitlisters getting in.

In fact, when I arrived at 5:20, the line was already spilling out of the roped-off area. They then asked all the waitlist people to raise their hands, then kicked them out of the line. Quite a few waitlisters were in front too.

Anyway, last I saw, most of the waitlist got in.

That was me. I was the MVP helping with the event.

So has anyone heard anymore about when the voucher goodies are gonna go live? When I put mine in it told me they'd be released over the next several months, but one of those goodies was a Batman costume and hey, the game is out now...

Has anyone actually received anything from this yet?

I redeemed the voucher that night but still haven't received any information on it.

Just got an e-mail for the $5 PSN voucher.

I had multiple lanyards and used a couple different e-mail addresses to redeem all of the codes, but I've only gotten the one code so far.

EDIT: Second one just came in. I used multiple codes for the same e-mail address, but I didn't get multiple vouchers out of it. Seems like you needed to use a different e-mail address for every code if you wanted to redeem more than one lanyard.

code worked for me as well.

did anyone get any of the other freebies yet? i didn't stay for the post show. wasn't it a batman skin and shadow of collosus rental or something?

Yeah, that happened here, and the audience made a big joke out of it at my showing haha. One dude got up and cheered, saying stuff like, "Come on NATE! You can do it!"

Another try.
This is code is for US account, you have CA account. Go away, you won't get a proper code.
Was there a country selection when redeeming E3 code? I don't think so.
They screwed something and I got this:
Josue: My solution can be: Create an US account.
$5 is not much, but that pisses me off.

Okay that explains why, cause I'm also from Canada

Well whatever it's $5, but at the same time, how'd they screw up the codes this time when last year everything was fine?

Dunno, this pisses me off. Honestly, not about $5 but the whole situation and support.

Whoo hoo! Got my $5 voucher and it worked. Now the wait begins for that sweet extra.

(Crosses fingers for No Man Sku or SW Battlefront beta)

Looks like it's one code per email. Had a friend go with me and I redeemed both codes to my email and only received one voucher.

Got the email around 5 P.M PST today. Just redeemed the $5.00 Prepaid Card successfully. I redeemed the code via the link provided in the email.

This is what the e-mail says:

Hopefully they've added some actual gifts beyond the credit and not just some trials.

Also, lol for being pissed off that your free $5 credit you got for going to a free event where you got to see E3 press conference in a theater may not work. Relax! Though I don't approve of the guy being rude to you.

I don't care about $5, but their attitude towards customers is unacceptable.

I'm more worried about other codes, tbh

Can confirm - all the $5 voucher codes for Canadians will not work.

Code is US account only and not working for Canadian accounts.

I have contacted customer support, and theres nothing they can do.
I will see what other means I can use to see if this can be rectified.
