The game is going to bomb on release and Nintendo is going to wonder why people don't buy Metroid.Wow that looks like shit.
What's the point? Just cancel it.

No, because it's going to bomb like the Bikini Atoll.Because you want them to???

The Codename S.T.E.A.M. of 2015.
What did everyone think was going to happen this year jesus, they made it pretty clear that the Wii U has a year left.

Metroid swan song for the Wii U.
Either that, or nothing and launch the next one with Metroid.
What nobody expected was this.
LOL, like that's going to happen.Doesn't mean the next console won't have a Metroid its first year.
The petition is somehow marketing the game better than Nintendo is.There is already a petition to try and cancel this: Link

Funny thing is, they thought my typo was unintentional... kekekeke.
There's actually a lot you can do with a Metroid FPS spin-off:Regarding Federation Force: If they'd taken the base idea (playing as Galactic Federation Troopers), and made it a Wii U competitive shooter, it could've really been cool.

EDIT: Aaaaand thread closed. It was a good run.
No it wasn't.
This isn't going to expand the Metroid fanbase. That would require it to sell.I was going to post this in the petition thread, but since that got closed...
People need to realize that this expands the potential Metroid fanbase. It's like being against Mario Tennis just because its not a mainline Mario game. I wonder what people would have said in 1993 when Mario Kart was about to come out. "Urrghh! Why are they wasting time with a stupid Kart Racer! Lets make a petition to get it cancelled!" Further, with respect to the Metroid franchise itself, I wonder what these people would have said if they heard that some 2nd party that wasn't Rare was making a first-person Metroid game. I suspect the reaction would have been just as stupid.
Calm down people. What if they game is actually good?
It's not the only FPS on the 3DS. The reason there aren't many 3DS FPS games is that the system is terrible for playing FPS on.This has been fascinating to watch.
People are disappointed that this is the form that Metroid brand is taking. The game is however, literally the only FPS, co-op or otherwise on the 3DS; a system that nobody thought could support one. It's going to surprise people.

There's actually a lot you can do with a Metroid FPS spin-off:
- Horde mode (with one of the scenarios being the Ing attack from MP2)
- Federation soldiers vs Space Pirates versus modes
- Asymmetric multiplayer (Samus/Dark Samus vs Space Pirates/Federation troopers)
Throw all that shit into one game, release it alongside a proper Metroid game. It probably wouldn't sell but it'd be pretty cool.
It might expand it slightly, and that's not nothing. This isn't going to expand the Metroid fanbase. That would require it to sell.
The only good thing MP Hunters did was expand the universe with the hunter characters... only for all but one of them to be one-offs, and even the one that returned, it was only a cameo in MP3.
So it failed to even do that.
Metroid Prime Hunters at least was an ambitious game. It really tried to push the DS, and IMO is still one of the best 3D graphics on that system. Most of its problems are strongly linked to hardware limitations, such as the small scope of the game, linearity and repetition.
The difference is we get Mario games all the time.I was going to post this in the petition thread, but since that got closed...

I have to admit, when I heard the Metroid-esque music kick in, I lost my shit....... and then halfway through the trailer I just.... felt nothing. Like there was nothing but emptiness left in my heart. Such disappointment. I can't remember the last time I felt THAT low.

Also, it's probably important to keep in mind the game has about a year to go in dev time. The graphics might improve. The gameplay looks fun, but those graphics almost look like N64 levels of Vaseline smearing.
