Street Fighter V Tournaments and Showcase featuring: Daigo, Justin Wong, & PogChamp,

Looking at how the characters play makes me think they're combining multiple characters into one to limit the roster size. It's kinda interesting.

I wonder how much block stun there is on normals. Since both ryu and bipson can combo mediums into mediums on hit, maybe going from mediums to lights xx specials would be viable as block strings.

I'm really excited about Birdie.

I'm expecting Guile. Could be involved if Nash is back, especially since Nash changed so much.

But yeah it's between him and Ken. I'm not really counting Akuma.

I'm really hoping for a boxer though. Balrog's chances are really slim but Dudley is still good, I think. Unless one of the new characters is a boxer, which would be more than okay actually. Hopefully more outboxing than infighting.

I still think that we are going to get new boxer from one of those four countries.

If any character has a kara throw like SF4 Ken/Vega, they could be a real problem to deal with. The normal tick throw set up could lead to a throw/low mix up that could really hurt if the opponent guesses wrong and goes for a tech that will cause them to whiff their throw.

I think they said only Chun had the only one that's worth bothering with at the moment. All the others barely move you.

Hit detection on Birdie seems to be kind of fucked. Besides the fireball dodge gif, there's also Cammy's point blank throw whiffing here and Chun's sweep either whiffing or mysteriously not having a hitbox for hellllla frames here. Capcom please.

It's street fighter. How much could've changed? And when you throw the best players of a game at something they love and know better than anything, I'm sure the mechanics will be easily grasped.

Chun Changed a lot! I was at E3 today and can't decide if I like the half circle to lightning legs mechanic; why can't they just use SFIII as her base and be done with it?

Birdie using the chain grab to avoid a fireball is probably working as intended. Generally speaking, things like throw animations are completely invulnerable while they're happening, so it was really just a smart heads up play by Tokido.

The "PERFECT" screen looks pretty terrible. I get that it's a "V" for SFV, but it doesn't work.

Haha, could she actually do anything?

I tried to teach my 1.5 year old nephew how to play Mario and he couldn't really grasp the idea of moving and jumping at the same time.

Nah, all she could do was make Big Band jump a little. I'm going to get her to play Mario Kart with me by taping the gas button down, selecting motion controls and attaching the Wiimote to get wrist.

I missed like 95% of the stream but they I think I caught the part where they were talking about Chun's kara and it was off MP right? That's weird it was off MK in 3S.

Legs/Electricity inputs are weird in that they're easy for total newbies, but they make things very difficult for the intermediate+ player trying to combo w/ them.

No one had problems with it in 3S. And if you're a so called intermediate player that has problems with lighting legs maybe you just need to admit you're still a noob.

"How come there's no combos in this?"

Because players have had only a handful of hours to play and a lot of that time was probably spent waiting in line. If you want to see combos, watch the Combofiend and Mike Ross video.

It's kind of funny how Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat switched places in the "massive-boobed women in impossibly skimpy outfits" department, lol.

If you see anyone say that SF5 looks just like SF4 just point to Chun Li at the character select screen. Different game obviously!

This is a big reason why I was worried about karas (and also my general dislike of them)

I just took everything we saw today as stuff that's all going to massively change in the 10 months or so before this comes out. We'll be talking about alpha version boob bounce.

I really like the combo direction here. I genuinely feel like I may be able to finally do everything a character has to offer in the cast.

Here's hoping Alex has brain dead easy links if he makes it :P
