Never owned a Dreamcast. Never played Shenmue 1 or 2. I'm not that big on Japanese games. But here I am.
Thanks

The money will be collected only when the campaign ends. As far as I know there's no way to change currency.I gave $29. Anyway how does this work, when will the money be taken from my bank account and is there anyway to change the currency?

Your pledge will be collected in the project's native currency, whether or not you see a conversion to your country's currency on the project page.
If you have questions about foreign currency transactions, we'd recommend reaching out to your financial institution for further clarification.

Corey Marshall (Ryo Hazuki VA) is going live soon with SegaNerds

I sure hope he gets to voice Ryo. He seems as passionate about Shenmue as David Hayter was about Metal Gear.
A big part of the original Shenmue games were the Sega Easter eggs, such as the capsule toys and playing Sega games in the arcades. Is there any possibility that those will appear in this game even though those licenses belong to Sega?
There are some things I can use and there are some things I cant use. Its kind of depending on further talks with Sega. I think theres going to be a lot of small details that were going to have to speak with them on as we go along.
from gameinformerThe challenging part, at least in the United States, is that Shenmue came out on Sega Dreamcast, Shenmue II came out on Xbox, and Shenmue III is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC, making it difficult for many fans to experience the first two games since theyre on separate platforms. Are there any plans to bring Shenmue I and Shenmue II to modern platforms?
If you have that question, its better that you ask Sega because they hold the rights to those. Those are their properties and I'm not in a position to talk about that, but Im thinking about asking them!

It's developed by Neilo, they are a studio that was funded by ex AM2 employees and there are former Shenmue team members on this project, some of them are listed on the KS page.
You're not the only one who wants to see her again at some capacity but I doubt we'll ever see here again![]()
I don't. He was a terrible voice actor, along with everyone else in Shenmue 1 and 2. The voice acting was so amazingly bad. If they do make him the voice actor for Ryo, I at least hope they give us a JP language option with EN subs.
Haha, I sensed that that joke was coming.

Even then, I still think Corey did a great job. Have there been better performances? Sure. Somehow though, it remains one of the most memorable to me.
Unless they hire monkeys on the project, the so called skill level people like to cite for developers so often is more or less flat when it comes to say, programmers etc. You can look at the studio's past output if you like to get an idea? But you wouldn't really get a representation of what this team can produce under Suzuki for instance.I understand that, but what do we know about the team other than it being comprised of a few key Shenmue devs? For all we know, they could be much less competent than the OG Shenmue team.
You can hear him speak live on youtube right now. Doesn't sound amazingly bad.
You might also want to read this for a possible explanation why the original English voice acting was the way it was.

Less thinking, more doing!
Let's get that Federation Force Hate-Mob to get a Petition up for Shenmue 1 and 2 to come out!
i think ryo's adventures take him to canada at some point and he sees nozomi again while there.
gameinformer said:Q: Shenmue was a very revolutionary and influential game when it was released on Dreamcast. A lot has changed in the games industry since then. How does the team work to make a game just as revolutionary so long after the original?
A: It’s all about the new challenges with me, and I definitely want to try these new things. Of course, it’s going to come down to the funding and how much we’re going to be able to spend on Shenmue III, but if we get to that point, I believe it will be just as revolutionary as the ones before.
