Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

That Mario guy geeze. I would kill him then run away cause I didn't get the splat symbol so I know I could still die from lag. 10 seconds later it says he got me.

Yup. By the way, he DC'd you guys. He wanted all of the glory of 1v4. =P

Alrighty, that's it for me for now. GGs, GAF. =D

I've been bounced out of B+ several times now, but I'm sticking with the custom blaster. I really feel like I'm improving with it, particularly in carrying my team on my back. Sometimes with the point sensor it's literally like, "You go here." And I love saving people with the bubbler. I think I just need to get hit less. ;)

Man I had a string of amazing games with randoms just now. Won every game, teammates were all great, I dodged out of the way of so many mines, inkstrikes, and killer wails at the last second. Why can't I play that well all the time

Finally B- rank. Though to be honest it isn't like I've been playing a lot. I'm also still in my plan of leveling up all gear so I just had something on with no regard to perks.

Had my best match in quite a while. Went 15/2. Ended up with 1482 points on the skate park one. Team ended up winning something like 80% to 8%.

I think I need to set the parental controls for this. Maybe only allow it to let me play for 2 hours a day.

1. Bluefin Depot
2. Blackbelly Skatepark
3. Saltspray Rig
4. Walleye Warehouse
5. Port Mackerel
6. Kelp Dome
7. Arowana Mall
8. Urchin Underpass

I don't like the gals. They aren't fast enough for me. At the same time most of SplatGAF is basically telling me git gud and I'm ass at the brush so I dont even know anymore
It's not that your not good, I just don't think your playstyle is working right now with the brush, I feel you are too patient sometimes and just wait for people to come to you then half the time they kill you because they have range over you and you pretty much wasted 30 seconds. And as iv told you in the past you are pretty predictable, you are getting better at this though there are times when I don't see you coming. Just keep working on it we all can get better, this is my second day using gyro controls when I have like 150+ hours in the game using analog so I'm still trying to improve on that. I don't know how to give you exact brush tips because you know I don't use it so maybe someone else can give you advice on that one, just don't give up on it because if anyone is going to be the best brush out there my money is on you.

If I had to rank them:

1) Port Mackerel
2) Walleye Warehouse
3) Blackbelly Skatepark
4) Bluefin Depot
5) Urchin Underpass
6) Kelp Dome
7) Arowana Mall
8) Salt Spray Rig

O_o

The Rig is one of the best!

Argh, not to me. There's something about that map that I can't stand. When it's in the rotation, that's me out of the game for 4 hours. I like to rush, and I find I have to take it too slowly on that map. You have to protect one of these two big areas for most of the game. I also hate that I can't really push the spawn.

I'm not even mad when someone uses a bubble to beat me in a firefight. Its basically the equivalent of the blue shell in mario kart. Doesn't mean anything about their skill.

It's hard for me to rank them in numerical order. I like them all.

I just like the Mall the least.

Also blaster is a challenging weapon to use. Not my playstyle.

(Ranked for Turf War only, since I got tired of Ranked pretty quickly)

1) Kelp Dome: Love the layout, loads of space to cover means high scores, the walkway leading to the central area has a strong risk-reward element and while the central area is keenly contested, battles usually move quite easily into opposition territory as well. Very nicely rounded.

2) Arowana Mall: The central choke-point is compact and fiercely contested, but intelligent play allows for thrilling dashes across it into enemy space. A secretly strong strategic map where it's easy to find action and enemy ink quickly.

3) Saltspray Rig: Easily the best of the 'limited space' maps, it's complex enough that you have to keep an eye on multiple areas if you want to win, particularly the blocks of space at the top and bottom. Nicely designed and often exciting, but a little too easy for a team with the right mix of weapons to dominate.

4) Blackbelly Skatepark: The weakest of the wide open maps is also an easy one for high scores, but simply not all that interesting to navigate. There are so many places to incur into enemy territory that it loses some of its excitement, and there's not much advantage to gaining the central area (unless through beacons, which become amazing).

5) Port Mackerel: Solid tactical map, darting in and out between the crates encourages fast-reactions and making it all the way to the enemy base is a stupendous feeling, particularly if you manage to take the elevated flanks. The grid-like structure means the team with the most long-range weapons (unless only chargers) should win, though, and the inability to climb up almost anything is frustrating.

6) Urchin Underpass: A solid mix of everything, with a central area that is tough but rewarding to dominate and enemy territory with just enough entrances to be exciting but not impossible to breach. Downside is that it's just not all that exciting, and rarely gets scores as high as the Skatepark either.

7) Walleye Warehouse: Too narrow. Yes, it's frantic, but the Killer Wail becomes insanely overpowered when well placed, the lack of width means a stronger team can dominate easily, and while battling can be exciting, it's not really what Splatoon is about.

8) Bluefin Depot: Urgh. Barely any space to paint, a huge chunk of enemy territory that is inaccessible without airstrikes or being forced to walk, two central areas that in theory should invite some interesting tactics, but in practice devolve into prolonged skirmishes and are annoying to get down to. More a battle arena than a turf war, and not much fun to play.

Has anyone ever seen a bunch of players with "N5★" leading their names? Joined a random room and there were 5 different people with that name. Wanted to learn to play Dynamo Roller tonight and it was the first match I had jumped into.

Ended up playing a very spammy-but-effective 13-5 round on the Skatepark against them, and they all scattered immediately afterwards. It was bizarre.

I think I'm going to stick with the Tentatek and the Dual Squelcher for now... Good aggressive/defensive weapon combo. Getting much more comfortable with the Inkzooka special now. Had a brush user run up to me in the middle of my special, and I jumped backwards away from him and blasted him in the face. I don't know how it worked out, but it felt so good.

I finally added my name to the GAF list now that I'm not horribly sucking at ranked battles. I have found my calling, and that calling is the roller.
