The thirst is real: a Destiny TTK quest is exclusive to Red Bull (Until Jan 1, 2016)

Let's bear in mind that there are weird fucking deals going all over the place.

But man is this a scummy one. Hopefully it's a no purchase situation for people who want to play it.

It's for a game that already lacked content, had two docs that recycled content and then there is a 40 expansion coming that will likely do the same and you are ok with them cutting up the dlc even more? Think of that Mona Lisa painting but now add the idea of breaking down the dlc another level.

Seriously?
I'm okay with this.

Long as it doesn't become rampant.

It's not a Bungie title without a soft drink tie in.

So I guess you played it already?

How did you know? I'm actually a soothsayer who read the description of the levels and uses common sense with promotions on games. Or maybe you're right, Bungie is holding back the new Raid behind a red bull pay wall.

I could see Destiny players being really upset with this if the consensus wasn't that the quest design is one of the worst things about that game.

So exclusive content from a beverage for a 40 dollar expansion. Add that current destiny players miss out on a few things with the collectors edition. Aren't expansion suppose to give you a big content update and that's the end of it?

Wow. Seriously Bungie? Seriously? That's beyond fucked up. Seriously that is beyond fucked up. As a long time Bungie fan that is the ultimate fuck you to me as a fan. I can see shaders and other shit but you're locking a quest behind me buying a goddamn energy drink. Fuck you.

At least they didn't lock quests and strikes and weapons behind a different platform for you, because that's a hell of a lot more expensive than a can of Red Bull.

I'm hardcore into Destiny but I couldn't give less of a shit about a Red Bull promotional quest that will be over in 10 or so minutes.

Feels like it needs an exclamation point after the $20.

"Downloadable content can cost up to $20! Ha ha ha, can you believe this shit?!"

So it's one can for the quest? That's like what, $2-3 to play it then? I wonder, would this quest even exist without the red bull deal?

Oh I've already been pissed about that. I own the game for both PS4 and Xbone though so ultimately that I could deal wtih. I was glad it was only for a year though. Course they went and did it again. Then they pull this whole locking shit to the 80 buck CE for the new expansion shit. Now they're locking content to cans of a fucking energy. This is not the Bungie I've been a fan of for years. They never would have done shit like this in the past.

I was going to say I must be the only player on GAF who plays on the XBone. That exclusivity deal is far worse when you're talking about not having access to weapons and strikes. Somehow we've managed to still have fun with the game.

Red Bull X Destiny PowerPoint grabs posted on reddit

These guys are going to have destiny plastered all over the place. The way it was worded in the picture on page one makes it look like they're taking a jab at destiny players. On the PowerPoint they actually compare price.

Either way it sounds bad, but it's also true. We do pay a premium and Red Bulls deal is about to give us 6 levels and some extra xp for the cost of a can.

i like how there is a BUY DESTINY NOW link in the article..wtf.

So this isn't just getting you something extra by buying a product, this is actually something that is included in the expansion but is locked until 2016 unless you buy a can of Red Bull? Somehow that's even worse.

I doubt it. This is redbull sponsoring something we've never seen in destiny. I'm hoping for sparrow skatepark in one of the levels.

Now we wait for the Doritos, Taco Bell, and NFL tie-ins. #MARKETING #TARGETDEMOGRAPHIC #CONSUME #BUY

Dominoes and Fallout 4 appear to have a co marketing campaign

Its just par for the course with AAA games man.

I thought they were holding back a strike/missions with this but it just looks like you unlock a bounty.

Co marketing is still annoying I just think its worse with Destiny of all the stink surrounding it.

So is this available to new users who buy the collectors edition only? If so, that would a double slap to the face of existing users. I highly doubt that's the case but Activision's fingerprints are all over this. Young people and millennials can see right through boardroom bs, and this wreaks of boardroom scheming bs to the fullest.

So, they are already calling it "Destiny 2.0" internally

i guess 2.0 is the stage where they lose all of their original devs and they just milk the shit out of the game's popularity via crossover deals and give us cut and paste content with new colors.

The funniest part is people actually defending this.

Remember though, it's mobile that's ruining gaming.

Yea. Shit like this is why I'm gaming less and less. Anymore it's getting harder to get a complete fucking game. Instead you get a piece of the game then either you jump through hoops to get all the content, have to preorder 50 places, or buy season passes, or god forbid do shit like this. I'm sick and tired of this shit.
