Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Dual Squelchers are fun, but I still like the .96 better. Sprinker is just so useful as a bait or just throwing across the fence to maximum inkage (so good doing this on Kelp Dome).

I remember before the Inkbrush dropped I thought of the Sprinker as a meh sub weapon. Nowadays I'm playing minigames with myself that basically boil down to how many sprinkers can I use I one match and where can I put them for maximum hilarity. I still think nothing's topping my "top of the utility pole" setup in Urchin Underpass the other day though, that was born from a complete mistake. :lol

The bad thing about using the Sprinker is that it completely sucks as a panic move, because it gets destroyed if you die right after throwing it :(

I remember during launch week I thought it was pointless to use any of the sub weapons. Now I use all of them all the time. After 3-4 weeks, I feel like I'm still scratching the surface of the game.

These are my favorite routes to start the stage and for generally getting into the top of the map:

A lot of people like to get slaughtered at the chokepoint entrance instead.

Unless you are the person who slaughters that is. I almost always get the entry kill with my .96 and then I hunt people who jump down from above trying to do what you are suggesting!

Indeed! That and all this different playstyles depending on which Weapon/Loadouts and which Map you are playing. Feels kinda Monster Hunter in that sense, it's just so much fun learning how to effectively make the best use of all those situations.

Depot is my new favorite map. The battles you can have on the to mids are so good.

Here's a small cut of some of the fights last night on Depot and Rig with splatGAF.

This is only the first half, but I don't want to miss this rotation, so I'll cut the other half later.

I think this is what keeps me playing this game so consistently. It just feels like you never stop revising your strategies, developing clutch twitch actions and continuing to learn.

Really liked the gameplay, subscribed. Wished you played splat zones though. How does the inkbrush do in that mode?

I originally wrote "you have a great inkbrush!".

That's one of the good things with randomized teams. The need to constantly revise and readapt strategies to fit the team setups.

Ugh why did they chose July 4th of all days? That's probably the worst possible date they could have chosen. Most people are going to be out doing stuff then (including me)

It's really really painful how bad the general population is at this game. Genuinely awful. It puts me off playing ranked so much.

Someone please explain to me why B rank battles are such a miserable, soul crushing experience. C rank was hectic and enjoyable with everyone knowing what they needed to do, B rank is nothing but AFKers, quitters, base painters and no semblance of teamwork. I don't even want to play ranked any more now I've hit B, I'm sick of going headfirst into 4 enemy players with 2 team members sitting back in our base painting and one getting lost somewhere else.

So i finally go around to picked this up. Is it wrong to say this feels like a late 90s/early 00's Sega game? Which i mean in the best possible way of course. Not just w/ the Jet Set Radio/Grind-esque colours, but the life and energy the game seems to have.

B-Rank is this game's version of hell

It's like trying to advance ranked advances in League. Replace the footage in that video with Splatoon ranked and it's basically the same.

I thought the whole time that getting past B- would mean that we'd get to the part of the game where people knew what was up and would act accordingly. Instead I'm greeted to hilaribad matchmaking (four A- ranks versus a team of one B+ and three Bs), teams that are spastic as fuck and wonky connections. I haven't touched ranked in a week because of it, but damn if I don't want some cash from it.
