Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition

No clue on what criteria they're going to use, if they decide to go after scalpers. I hope they only go after people who preordered like 10 or more, which isn't unthinkable looking back at the scalpers who tried to bet on the WiiU and PS3.

I'm with you though because I ordered one from Amazon and another from Gamestop, both for PS4. Also their tweet seems to imply that they don't have a lot of control over retailers, I think I'll be in the clear.

I thought mods were confirmed for PS4, just after XB1?

They talked about looking into it and wanting to do it, but there's no firm confirmation that it's coming yet.

What worries me is I ordered all three from Best Buy. All separate orders too. I think you're in the clear since they're at different locations.

They are "confirmed", but can't say when it will be because of deal with MS.

Howard has confirmed that mods will be available on PS4...eventually.

"Howard has confirmed that mods will be available on PS4...eventually. Howard stressed that Bethesda and Microsoft worked together to bring Fallout 4 mods to Xbox One, and said "the timetable is fuzzy" regarding when mods will come to PS4."

Nothing has been confirmed. He said if Sony allows them to do it they will.

We will be. Well, we’re going to make every effort to. If Sony says no, we won’t, but I don’t think they will

EB Games Canada has restocked.

Sadly I'm still waiting for Australian EB Games to restock. The edition is exclusive to EB in Australia (so it's the only place we can freaking buy it), and they haven't restocked AT ALL so far and show no sign of doing so. According to Pete and Bethblog only Europe is getting more allocations, and US is finished (they've had a few rounds of allocations... Lucky bastards).

Oh shit guys. :(

I'm glad that Hines is being really open about it. You can tell he's really passionate about this game and is trying to help people get it.

It does suck though for those that missed out because of their busy life.

I wonder what the total quantity will be going into production. I imagine they're trying to appease fans with the limited restock, but they probably want to make those who buy it feel like they actually own a limited item rather than a piece of plastic on shelves for 50% a year after launch.

People suggesting backorders might be hindered by the whole concept, but I don't disagree with making more when possible due to factory constraints or whatever-- just give fans a small window to pre-order and have a disclaimer saying they'll ship out after launch.

Luckily I managed to snag one for myself, but I feel for those who missed out.
I am happy that it's a worthwhile investment compared to the bullshit Bungie spouted about Destiny's "truly limited" LE that quickly dropped in price and crowded shelves

I believe there was a report out of some retailer about 25k per retailer US anyway. They might have bumped that though with the last allocation but probably not much more I'd wager.

I swear I had a feeling that would happen, so yesterday when the Bethesda store restocked I quickly ordered one. I'm getting it shipped to a shipping address in the US which will then ship to Australia (which costs like $40 alone in shipping). So it'll total to something over $200 AUD. Which is what I payed for the Witcher 3 CE. Okay. I guess I can deal with that :(

It's so sad though because Australia hasn't had a SINGLE restock and we only have one retailer who is allowed to sell it. Damn kangaroo land getting no respect.

That's still going to be less than what a scalper would charge you later. Those who got one are lucky because I doubt we'll see another batch.

I dont usually preorder collectors editions but I'm happy with this one. For anything I collect I require that it be useful to some extent, not just a bobble head or something.

Holy shit I actually just realized I'm going to be paying way more than $200. I calculated it.

So to ship to the US shipping address it's costing me $120 USD, which, according to how much money was taken from my account, is over $160 AUD.

Then when I pay the shipping company to ship it here, the cost is based on VOLUMETRIC weight (which ignores that actual weight of the product and uses the box's dimensions intstead) of the thing not the actual weight (they'll use volumetric since that'll give a higher value).

So if I use the dimensions of the Witcher 3 collector's edition box (since I have no idea how big the Fallout 4 CE box will be), shipping would be approximately $95 according to the site's calculator thingy. That's for the standard, 6-8 day shipping. If I wanted "express" (3-5 days) it would cost me $115.

Which would total... about... $255 AUD... with 6-8 day waiting time (+ the few days it takes to get to the shipping address from wherever it's sent from)...

FUCK.

Best Buy already sold out too. Is this limited or are they going to keep making these? Any word?

I would love to use my Gamer's Club Discount on one and get it at Best Buy.

Best Buy CE's will always sell out first and not come back. GCU is honestly too good of a deal there. You can buy most collector's editions at the same price you were going to pay for the normal game.

I don't understand why people actually want a pip boy. What do you do with it exactly?

I don't know, maybe...you know..I'm a huge Fallout fan and I want the collectors edition?

Fuck me, right?

Oh and so many salty people here that couldn't get one. Hope everyone that wants one gets one :)

Happy that both my Amazon and Best Buy orders went through!

I want the Pip-Boy edition because I'm a pretty big fallout fan, and who wouldn't want to wear a Pip-Boy!

Preparing for the post apocalypse (until our phone batteries die)

I just read up that it will be able to interact with the game, that is actually pretty sweet. I hope you can use the real pipboy as a complete replacement for the in game one. I initially thought it was just a cheap alarm clock lol. Now I feel like I missed out, at least I should still be able to use the app on its own though.

Wow, glad i got min...

Nooooooo :(

Use this to compare the sizes of phones relative to each other:

http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size/Samsung-Galaxy-S5,HTC-One-M8/phones/8202,8242

It's got two in there, but you can remove them by clicking the small gray x below them and add any two you want.

Wait, my HTC M8 would fit then? I'm so confused right now D:

You can but it doesn't pause the game, though that might also be the case for the in-game one as well we don't know yet, and you don't need the pipboy.

It's just a second screen app that everyone can use but if you have the pipboy edition you can use it in that and it will confirm to the screen space.

It's completely impractical as a wrist mounted device, but it might be cool to use a tablet or large screen phone to access your inventory and stuff on the fly. Maybe.

It's pretty funny that after all these years Fallout 4 is what might end up making me finally buy a smartphone, just so I can stick it into some goofy plastic tchotchke. Although if I actually use the app it'll probably be much more useful/practical to run it on a tablet.
