NICE

I'm going to need one but with La Patria instead of Lady Liberty!

+1

It would be nice to print and put it on our goverment building. A few months ago, when a gay couple tried to get married here, it was chaos. Bomb and death threats; fucking embarassing

This gem popped up on my Facebook feed:

"If your personal relationships aren't legitimate to you until they are licensed and regulated by the government..... That's really sad."

That's a keeper right there.

Ask them if driving or hunting is sad, too.

I'm assuming this person is very anti-government regulation, libertarian. At the same time, this person must not know the actual tangible benefits you receive for being legally married, otherwise I doubt they'd say something so bitter.

why do heterosexuals even care?!
Some of those people think it affects their marriage for whatever ignorant reason. Others are outright hate-mangers, while others still think it should be exclusively a religious thing with no place in governance. Most common thing I've personally seen as a concern is if benefits/tax breaks will be equal regardless of homosexual or heterosexual marriage.

Regardless, heterosexual people who have an issue with this should take a step back to realize this doesn't hurt or hinder them in any way. Ignorance on the matter is too high.
They're horrible people that want others to continue to be worth less than them.

Come on Kinsei, was that generalization necessary? Yes, there are heterosexual people who have a lot of bigotry, ignorance, and hate, no one is denying this, but don't lump everyone together like that.

Yes, we should feel bad that people who want to stamp out rights and prosecute love are feeling bad right now.
I'm not saying you should feel bad - it's a matter of professionalism and civility. To stand for something, and be representative of something, yet showcase mantras which show the opposite of it is counter. I tend to take the high ground though.

... Or they support the rights of their gay friends, family members, co-workers, etc.

Come on; there are good reasons to care.

I thought based on the title of the thread that it would be towards the ones who are "salty". If the person I was responding to just meant in general then I apologize.

I'm kind of disappointed at the lack of salt on my FB feed. I've got a fellow law student echoing Scalia's opinion, and a pseudo-libertarian/evangelical going off on how this is an affront on Christian freedom. Besides that, it's pretty bare :(.

At least I can search #tcot on Twitter for glorious meltdowns

As much as I get annoyed/hurt of A=ally reducing visibility of agendered and asexual people (seriously, it should be GS(R)M, but that's for another topic), there is no doubt that a lot of the steps and progress for queer vsibilities and rights is because of open-minded and supportive non-queer people.

After all, isn't being queer and hating someone on the basis of their sexual orientation kinda... Hypocritical and wrong? Heterosexual allies are to thank for a lot of the progress that we queers enjoy today.

Tonight was supposed to be game night at my apartment, but the dudes who just bought Pandemic are gay and decided to cancel in favor of going out to celebrate. We had made a ton of wontons for everyone to eat. Now we have to freeze them. Frozen wontons suck.

Thanks, Obama.

Another Friday night in America ruined by the gay agenda..

See! SEE THIS SHIT!!

That's how Rome fell!!!

Let the salt flow.

I love their attitude of "Everyone's not being forced to live their lives according to my particular 2000 year old, bronze age belief system in which I was indoctrinated as a child by my parents. I'm so oppressed and persecuted!! Why can't they just let us enforce our beliefs on those with different beliefs and none at all. It's a dark day for freedom I tell ya! The freedom to live how we say to.."

What a great day for the human race. The bigots will dry their tears soon enough and move on to the next thing they believe will be the end of the world.

I genuinely wonder whether some people realize legalizing gay marriage isn't forcing everyone to enter a gay marriage.

There's more, though. I wanted to go to the farmer's market a few minutes from my house around 2:00 PM today. When I tried to drive there, the entire road was closed due to a tree falling over. A TREE FELL OVER. Do you think that sort of thing just happens by chance? Pretty obviously an omen. And I really wanted to buy some avocados.

Did you not hear? Only gay people are allowed to eat avacados now. It was in the majority's opinion.

what the fuck

this is a thing? role-playing as cartoon characters who are also race car drivers? those tweets were disturbing.

Well there IS a Nascar racer in Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed, so...

This is Sega's fault.
